This place is on the main drag heading into the actual harbor town. It's on the right, before Hannaford.
There seems to be ample parking, and there are a few picnic tables on grass, under trees between the lot and the street. Not exactly picturesque, but not bad!
Like *many* others, they carry Giffords ice cream products. This is not a good thing. Especially this year. After the fire to the primary plant for Giffords this past winter, they have outsourced to several other companies around the country. This initially seems like a good thing, to keep business going and such, BUT, the flavors I see had were NOT up to the Giffords standard. For example, one I ordered (NOT from Sarah's, but another ice cream stand) was *terrible* and a complete waste of $6. You could not even taste the black raspberry (there was virtually NO flavor, other than the chocolate squares. And yes, the color was off, too.
One flavor I DO LOVE as a gluten free option, is the "Campfire S'mores" ... but NO ONE who carries Giffords has had it in the last 5-6 weeks tried to get it. Every shop says they order and order and don't get a lot of what they order. I don't know if Giffords did the right thing by outsourcing. I was already a bit bugged by the fact that I can get it in a grocery store, so why spend so much extra at a stand?? Most of the available flavors are NOT GF, as they have crust, cookies, etc added in. I'm thinking the interim makers are inferior and trying to hide that by relying on the additives.
I prefer home-made, at the actual location, if I can find it. And I did!
I'd find other locations that sell a different local brand, such as Shain's or Shaker Pond.

Not many GF flavors, but that's due to Giffords fire

So good! Glad we made the stop after our dinner downtown. The girl that served us was so sweet and bubbly. I'm so glad she asked if I wanted a sample of what I ordered because I switched back to my first sample. We had the moose tracks and caramel peanut butter cookie dough. They were both delicious and the fresh waffle cone was a cherry on top!

This is a great little place in the Boothbay region, so if you want a nice treat they have it all. As a bonus, they have quite a solid selection of 'dairy free' options which is great for a family like ours.
This is the kind of place we will come back to.

The one young lady working had to take your order, take your payment then dish out your order and she did it all with a smile. The ice cream and frozen yogurt were smooth and delicious. Servings were generous. Plenty of flavors to angst over! Ha Picnic tables for enjoying your ice cream treat. Plenty of parking. Small farm stand next door.

This is delicious, I highly recommend the black bear ice cream. One note- cash or in State check only, so be sure to be prepared (or ready to run back to your hotel room if you're staying at the Flagship Inn).

Everything was closed in Boothbay because it's "not season" yet. Was very disappointed until we found her place. The small is plenty enough ice cream even for a big guy like me, but if you are brave go ahead and get the large. Great ice cream! And even out of season She is open until 8 not 7.

Excellent little place for some ice cream. Prices are reasonable and portions are large. I would definitely recommend this as a stop on any trip to Boothbay.
