Super happy with and cannot compliment enough Mission Barbecue (21236 store) and their wonderful, happy and helpful employees and fantastic business model.
I received a free birthday sandwich in November and a free Christmas sandwich both of which were $13 sandwiches! They are even more generous to current armed forces members and Vets so you need to sign up for their rewards program. Their employees are always smiling and provide super fast service and I especially like the roving person, in my last visit a woman, who explained the company's generosity towards Vets while she cleaned my table. I love this location. Every time I go there it is never crowded and always clean. I usually can find items that are typically out of stock at my local Safeway. Today, a sales associate (I believe her name was Veronica) went above and beyond when I called customer service. It's Thanksgiving day and she put me on hold so that she can go find an item that I was requesting. Not only did she find the item but she told me where to find the item in two separate locations on a busy holiday. I thanked her for her exceptional customer service and she thanked me back and wished me a happy holiday. It's tough to find good customer service during such stressful times especially on a holiday. I appreciate her for this.

Any company can put an item on a shelf with a price tag, and call itself a business!
My recent experience with this Safeway store had to be shared. I also have to give major kudos to those responsible :
Marina,(in the deli) who took the time and effort to find out the answers and make it happen. The usual "what is there is what's available. Or, check back tomorrow." Marina made sure that the customer (me), was taken care of. (Gee, we do that?)
Joan,(in the deli) a multi tasking Wonder Woman who took care of other customers, helped Marina with my request, and fried my chicken ! I do think, she thought I couldn't count. She said 2 times "Mister, there are only 2 of us here today!" I looked around at asked the guy next to me, "How many do you see? He said 2!"
I shook my head, me too. Lol!
Joan is incredible dealing with a lot of balls in the air.
Lastly, at checkout I have no idea if I had 15 items or ???? I bought 4 toothbrushes, 4 shaving cream plus ......A young man at a empty register says
"I can help you!"
Magic words today.
This cashier guy Aidan, was awesome. Polite and pleasant. I had done the e-coupons and he helped to see if they worked. The savings came through 100%!

Such a better grocery store than the giant near the mall! I came on a Sunday morning and it wasn't too packed and everything was spaced out well, plus I didn't have to wait to check out which was great (living in the city they never had enough cashiers, so I was pleasantly surprised in the county). One complaint is the meat section didn't have that many options. Where is the flank steak? Also they desperately need to paint the lines in the parking lot.. they're so faint that people are just guessing!

Hmmm, how do I start. With the fact that she didn't greet me at the counter(clearly standing right in front of her, or when I was finished putting in my order, she was yelling "to herself" about my order! Dawn Dawn Dawn (or however you spell her name; that's how I feel with the level of disrespect I received at 8:30am).
Ive worked in customer service for 12 years. A customer is more likely to buy more from a simple smile & hello. Not Oscar the grouch.
I understand we are in a mist of a pandemic & the shortage of supplies is limited. So as I proceed to order. Everything we "we don't have that" or "let me see" if i have that. Your the "manager". Help me help you. What's available and go from their.
If she's not a morning person, I suggest she schedule someone else or find another job with less interaction with people so early.

We were a regular customer until today. Me and my family had a really bad experience today. There was a customer in the vegetable section who did not wear a mask, and I didn't want to shop around him with my 18 months old daughter. When I went to customer service and complain about him they didn't do anything and when I turned my back they showed me and shook their heads and laugh at me and my husband saw the whole thing! I will never go to Safeway again there are so many other stores , I cannot believe how disrespectful their employees are !

First off, I have really enjoyed this location over the years but customer service and staffing have really started dropping off at night. There's usually only one register open from 9pm on and the cashier tends to disappear causing the line to get out of hand. On several occasions, customers have had to go looking for the AWOL employees who seem to hide by the lottery machines. I would say this is a staffing issue but on several occasions a group of employees (usually three) huddle around said lotto areas talking. It's possible they are mostly stock employees who couldn't help out with check out but I'm not going to speculate. They need to re-evaluate their night time staffing needs.
If it wasn't for the location and stock, I'd probably give them a one star review. They carry a few products that the local Weis doesn't carry.

Premade guacamole is awesome. And organic vegetables are pretty good too.
It doesn't get crowded in here when I go which is usually later in the day or late on the weekends after I've finished working. That makes it easy to check out once I'm ready.

Stay away. They sell stale breads, rotten meat, and the freezers are always broken so the frozen foods these and refreeze again. Staff is unfriendly and cold. And it's very dark in the store.
