Ruler Foods

No produce. All processed foods. Most shelves empty. Bring a quarter to unlock a shopping cart. Was in and out within a minute.

Ruler is a good supermarket with Kroger brand foods which are very good and a good amount of name brand products; People also love the prices which are considerably lower than say Whole Foods or Schnucks, while having good selection of meats, produce, bottled and canned goods and bakery and frozen foods. Service is tolerable for the prices and the ambiance is moderately pleasing. Overall, being on a fixed income and a thrifty person, Ruler Foods is a no-brainwr. So lucky to live very close to one!!

I bought a 10lb bag of fresh chicken quarters from Ruler foods. all different sizes and half had no legs with it.

Love this place food and prices are great. I can count on getting quality food at a reasonable price at ruler.

When you live in the Shaw district and need something fast this is the place to go! Bring a bag because you will need one! And why not be green!

I have been wanting to try out ruler foods for awhile. I'm not an Aldis fan because of many reasons, but a co worker shops regularly at rulers. She pops this movie theater popcorn that's from there ( krogers brand) & it's probably the best store bought popcorn I've had. I was searching for a 3 cheese ranch dressing to make this bow tie pasta salad & I was having difficulty finding it, after Internet search, rulers was supposed to have it, but they didn't. I ended up getting some nice priced bacon, & popcorn. I had already done my grocery shopping the day b4. I did snap some pics for everyone's reference & I'll be back for their reasonably priced eggs, meats, milk, produce ( although it's limited selection).

How is it the freezer been missing hot wings all weekend and two days in the week and the same as the salmon what ya don't stock up anymore neighborhood grocery

Do you miss Kroger? Well they are back!!! Opening new stores in St Louis called Ruler Foods.
This one is right across from Tower Grove Park and is very similar to Aldi only here I can pretty much complete my grocery list. They are lacking quite a bit in the produce dept but I wasn't surprised....that might also improve later.
The aisles are much wider than other stores as well and you don't feel as crowded as you might at Aldi.
The prices are very affordable and I'd recommend making this your first grocery stop.
Bring a quarter for your cart and don't forget your bags!

Generally as a chain I like the store because they offer discounted organic products, but today I went to the one on grand and it was nothing nice. They don't seem to really have much of anything in comparison to the one off of St. Charles rock Road.

Dime for a large durable bag
Closeout bin by register has great buys
Seems all items as cheap as Sam's Club. (Eggs, milk, chicken breasts)


I had a package that leaked on my other items. Cashier was empowered to make it right by discounting another item. Not expected nor asked for. Very nice that they cared & went above and beyond.


I only have one complaint. Some able bodied people use the electric carts for the disabled. Management should direct cashiers to refuse service & ask to leave. It's not cool nor cute
