First of all I havent tried breakfast here so this review is just for our diner , which was delicious!
Me and my wife shared a field green salad , corn bread , crab mac and cheese, mahi mahi special (came with fennel, heart of palm and a light red sauce) and nutter butter dessert . Everything was realy delicious and perfectly portioned. Also shout out to Anthony , he was the nicest waiter ever.
a few reviews mentioned the price of the meal and size of entrees not being worth it. This isnt applebees or chillies , plan on getting a bottle of wine and eating a few courses here. Our meal with a bottle of wine was $140 before tip. It seemed worth the price to us . Thanks for a great meal and memory Rocksalt!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - C L.Portland, OR3104206Jun 21, 2019
It was our first time here and the food was incredible! All the dishes are meant to be served family style and that is my favorite way to eat. Sharing is caring!
We started the meal with brussels sprouts, poke and fried hamachi...the brussels sprouts were out of this world! The little gems were fried to crisp and served with pancetta and balsamic port reduction.
For our entrees, we had the snapper cioppino, ribeye, lobster noodles and they were accompanied by the street corn and Brazilian cheese bread. All the dishes were all very fresh, well executed and perfectly seasoned. The star for me was the snapper cioppino...whole sweet snapper with Kauai prawns, clams, mussels, calamari and toasted buttery baguettes. It was light and flavorful.
We were so defeated after the spread but we couldn't resist dessert. So we ordered the grilled pineapple and nutter butter. I'm a sucker for peanut butter desserts so nutter butter was the winner! Arlette pastry, walnuts, vanilla gelato and peanut butter dust...a terrific way to close out the feast!
The entire meal experience was tremendous! It was worth every penny and we'll definitely be back!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Selyna M.Huntington Beach, CA1386142772Sep 26, 2018
Great Kama'aina deal - Buy one, get one from their large plate (entree) section of the menu, plus 25% off beverages. Orlando was a delightful server and treated us with some local aloha :) All the food was so so tasty, my favorite was the Huevos a la flamenca, which is also on their Aloha Hour from 5:30-7pm. We'll have to come back for it!
The only bummer was the parking - while the restaurant validates parking for the Sheraton Resort parking lot, they only do so for 3 hours, and we stayed just a little over that. I know this is a hotel policy, so we'll just have to find another parking option or order less food if we want to take our time to enjoy our bottle of wine next time.
Aside from parking, everything about Rocksalt was great! Perfect intimate date night spot away from the noise at Whaler's Village :)Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Eric S.Los Angeles, CA35245566Jul 28, 2018
We had a resort credit that had to be used at this restaurant. Very disappointing, but the nice thing is that the dinner for 5 was $200 so we won't have much credit left.
Dinner:
We ordered several items and most all were average at best. As mentioned in other reviews the presentation is nice but NO flavor. They said the portions were large, share portions. That was also not completely accurate, you could share if you want one piece of something. You pretty much have to order half the menu to get full.
Breakfast:
Breakfast is definitely better. Pretty much what you expect for a buffet. Go for the waffle with the coconut syrup! Also have them make you your eggs outside the buffet room it is much better then the powder eggs.
Service was ok but most definitely not aloha style that you get from the rest of the resort.
Prices are out of line and and favor is less than average.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Oct 11, 2019
I'm guessing this place is maybe going through some changes because of the renovations? The advertisements in the elevators made it look like a bar/lounge where you can order pupus and cocktails. I even looked them up on Instagram and noticed they haven't posted since July, so they are super outdated. Walked by here in the evening and everything was closed. Walked by in the morning and saw they were serving breakfast so we decided to give it a try. Turns out it was a breakfast buffet, overall the food was alright. They did have an fresh omelet station which was cool. Probably the best thing offered for the buffet.

New place. Great location. Beyond that... hmm. The staff seated us outside, and the view was lovely. We went at happy hour, when a lot of food and drink is heavily discounted. I still didn't feel like we got our money's worth. The drinks sounded great on the menu and looked great in front of you, but were not as good as at other bars. The food was inconsistent. Nice presentation, largely, but we found the food kind of bland. Specifically, the octopus -- which looked beautiful -- had very little flavor. The fried hamachi was the same. I don't know if it was over cooked or what, but something that sounded fantastic turned out to be a real bust.
In the upside, a pasta dish we got was really solid.
So, go for the lovely view, but maybe don't expect a whole lot more.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dani K.Los Angeles, CA7112055Jun 14, 2018
Made reservations for a Tuesday night and it was pretty empty. Only a few other tables. We were a little skeptical to eat here for this reason, but we're so glad we stayed.
If you're coming for the view of the cliff divers, don't bother. The cliff is so far away and blocked by a few trees. You'll only see silhouettes of people jumping off, which I actually thought was pretty cool.
If you're coming for the food and the atmosphere, you're in the right place. The food was incredible and the dessert was the best I've ever had. We ordered the nutty butter and it's a MUST TRY. I said I was only going to have a bite and that was a lie. I couldn't stop eating it. If you have a nut allergy then you might have to stay away from this one. But for all my normal peeps, get it. Do it. You won't regret.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Randy M.Kaukauna, WI195960Feb 19, 2019
Really nice place at the Sheraton Resort. The food is really good. Lori had omelettes two days in a row. One, she said, was "okay," the next was "spectacular." I had a fruit bowl which was very nice. It came with banana bread! The next morning I had a tasty waffle.
The staff is friendly and attentive. The prices are high, but we're in a fabulous resort on Maui, of course it's pricy!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Cristabella C.Laguna Niguel, CA218193122Aug 21, 2018
