River Pub Italian Grille

What a great dining experience! The new owners of this previously struggling, inadequate pub have made a complete revitalization of the establishment building and MENU. They have a complete gourmet menu for breakfast through dinner but they have a loaded pizza that is my personal favorite. I have never had any pizza experience even close to it. The hands-on owners and the rest of the staff are over the top friendly, helpful and there to serve. Try it!

Typically I give little to no credit regarding claims of "The Best XYZ In All of..." as claims of this nature are usually over blown boasting. Although I cannot say that this was the Best Pizza In All of Florida, it's definitely in my top 5 of all the pizzas I've eaten in Florida.

I don't claim to be a Pizza Expert but I can honestly say that the pizza served at Mel's River Pub Italian Grille is spot on. Who would have thought that you could get a solid and tasty pizza in a small out of the way restaurant off 309 just South of Welaka,FL?

I'm here to tell you their pizza is legit and is a Friends & Family recommendation!

My favorite old Florida pub!!! Amazing pizza and food in the middle of nowhere. I used to come here all the time but now when I visit once a year!

Great news! They changed the sauce and pizza back to the old recipes! Crust is delicious too!

We were staying at the RV Resort across the street and decided to give them a try for dinner after a long day of R&R - it's seems the less you do the less you want to do including cooking - hey it's a camping trip let's not spoil the fun with work and with such a fantastic Italian restaurant across the street why not leave it to the experts.

We walked up to the yodeling of Karaoke on the patio - you know she's a big star at Banana Joe's Bar where she sang karaoke every night - yeah she was here I swear. We decided to slide past the "entertainment" and entered the restaurant and found a seat in a nice cozy booth, it was locals night I'm guessing it seemed most knew the staff by name and I'm telling you I felt like a local before the end of the night the service was incredible.

It appears they have a tremendous delivery business, the pizzas were flying our the kitchen wrapped in red warming boxes then out the door to who knows where, if I had known they had delivery they probably would of paid a few visits to the RV.

The food was really good but I'm no aficionado of Italian food, but the next day my camping neighbor Manny from New York asked me if I tried this restaurant - he told me they tried it and he thought it was an unbelievable dining experience "the sauce and meatballs reminded him of the city and yes the city that never sleeps New York, New York" so start spreading the news...

I have ordered many times from this place in the past and last night I ordered a large deluxe with extra cheese, a large meat lovers with extra cheese, and a large pepperoni pizza with extra cheese for $88 bucks. I received 2 cheese pizzas and a pepperoni pizza with a receipt that showed the charges for a deluxe with extra cheese, a meat lovers with extra cheese, and a pepperoni with extra cheese.
I spent almost 90 bucks for 2 cheese pizzas and a pepperoni pizza. please, order takeout at your own risk.

The old owners were amazing and good folks. The new crew is fantastic!! Mel and Haney are giving it their all to make sure you have a great experience and exceptional food. More discounts and deals than you can count. Veterans are treated like royalty. The liquor store next door is their wine cellar and beer cooler. Check it out.

River Pub is very good for Italian cuisine. Had chicken Parmesan and it was very good.
Service was adequate as well as bread and condiments.
Would definitely go back and try the pizza and other dishes on the menu.

You today when you come in the door. They have a wide selection on the menu. From hamburgers to sandwiches to pasta pizza and fish. And it's all very good. The hamburgers are great the pizzas are very good as well as the sandwiches an the pasta. An I have had them all. So don't judge a book by its cover if you're ever in the area definitely stop by and have a bite to eat.

Rarely get order right. Staff is too busy visiting with each other & their regulars. Food u usually undercooked. Extremely slow. Overpriced.

Well we tried this so called Italian Grille on 2 occasions.
1st was Pizza, it was the worst I have ever had. You can buy a frozen pizza from the grocery store better than this. The crust was like cardboard, so it probably was frozen crust. The sauce & cheese had NO flavor at all. It was like eating cheap canned tomato sauce & artificial cheese.
2nd: We took my sister who was visiting. There was very little on the menu that was Italian. This time we ordered dinners each of us ordered differently. My wife ordered Fettuccine Alfredo. It had no flavor, the cheese was artificial & gooey. My sister had grilled chicken with vegetables. The chicken was edible but the veggies were out of a can. I had chicken parmesan. The chicken was like rubber & overcooked. So I sent it back & they brought me out a new dish. It was again like rubber & unedible. I told the waitress who then brought over the manager. She wanted to try for the 3rd time or something else. I was not willing to try round 3.
We will not be back again.
