Ugh does this location suck. It always smells bad, the refrigerated section is warm inside, the manager is too lazy to help, and the pharmacists can't seem to call when there is a Rx issue. I only continue to go, because it's two blocks away.

Wow what a terrible Rite Aid!
Not only was there only one stressed out employee on the resister, but no bathroom use - it was locked with someone probably "blowing it up" with stank - ugh and ewww!
The whole vibe of the store seemed disorganized and dirty!Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 9Oh no 0Business owner information

I could not safely access the front entrance because a man with an adult, reactive pit bull was blocking it...The dog was rearing up and snarling as the man struggled to restrain it...He was amicably chatting with 2 store employees who did nothing to correct the situation...It was left up to me to shout at him to leave the door area...After he did I told the two employees they did not need to encourage that behavior...When I was about to leave with my prescription I noticed that the employees were allowing a woman to bring an UNMUZZLED pit bull INSIDE the store...One of the 2 original employees "claimed" to be the manager and said store policy allowed these dogs to enter...I complained that this was unprofessional, unhealthy, unhygienic and unsafe...Don't risk life and limb to go to this location...Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Got the Covid vaccine here, pharmacist made me feel at ease. The screech pop store music was a bit grating though...

It seems clear that this Rite Aid is following the path of the several others that have closed in Center City recently, now that the pharmacy staff have dropped to the same level as the other store staff. It's chilling to realize that our medicines and health-safety are in the hands of a pharmacy employee who is incredibly rude, acts aggressively, and can't be bothered to take a moment to answer a simple question about the price of an expensive and life-saving medicine for my child--much less utter a coherent thought or offer a fact. It's mystifying that Rite Aid would continue its downward trajectory by hiring a person like this young woman answering the phone and replying in this way to pharmacy calls mid-morning on May 31, 2022. Thanks to her, Rite Aid, you've lost my entire family as long-time customers. You are terrifying.

9:03am and the pharmacy isn't even close to being open (says open at 9am).
That's ok don't acknowledge me standing at the pharmacy counter to pick up meds for over 10 minutes and continue to answer phone calls when my transaction would take 90 seconds tops. It's called, "please hold for a moment." Since when is a phone caller a priority over in-person patron? I walked away slowly after yeanother phone call was taken and I'll come back when someone else is working. Two stars instead of one just because it doesn't always suck, but usually it does.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Jun 9, 2018Previous reviewThat's ok don't acknowledge me standing at the pharmacy counter to pick up meds for over 10 minutes and continue to answer phone calls when my transaction would take 90 seconds tops. After one night where I witnessed a disturbing incident where the cashier appeared to be stalked and intimidated by a customer, sending her to the back of the store in tears while that lurker player innocent....
And on another day I was told to leave my kick-scooter outside (where it would be stolen) when I stopped by to pick up some small items. This was my fifth stop of the day and also represents the only time I was stopped for bringing the scooter into a store.
I left after informing the cashier I did not have to shop there and in fact was no going to shop there and as a parting gift I even left an f-bomb for all the people standing in line to appreciate.
No more of my money for your store where the employee taking my money is different each time I go there.
A miserable place that I will avoid shopping at. Also a HUGE waste of space in this neighborhood, open parking lots in this neighborhood are not needed and are a blight. tear this store down.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Adam W.Philadelphia, PA41438Feb 2, 2011
There is no reason (none) for you to go to this RiteAid UNLESS you are JUST going in to FILL A PRESCRIPTION. There is NO OTHER REASON. I have lived near this pharmacy for many years and despite my best efforts they still take some of my money.
This place gets 1 star because the pharmacists are really nice. But if I could just give it a half-star I would because they are often out of the drugs you need and have to order them. How can RiteAid be out of stock? We're taking basic allergy medications, nothing fancy here.
But with the one star out of the way here comes the laundry list of reasons you shouldn't shop there:
- the floor is often wet...specifically on Aisle 2 where the shampoo is. gross.
- the cashiers almost never have enough cash in their register to honor cash-back when you pay with debit, even if you're only asking for $20.
- they often try to sell expired milk, and sometimes even the expired milk is out of stock.
- they don't shovel the sidewalk when it snows. that's good because the last place vulnerable and unhealthy people need to go is THE PHARMACY.
- the cashiers often will accumulate long lines because they're busy chatting it up with their favourite customers, whom they often EXTEND CREDIT to, as in, "oh you forgot your money? don't worry, just take the kit-kat bar and bring me the $2 this afternoon." real professionals, here.
Basically this is a corner bodega with standards that are generally lower than your average corner bodega. One star because (see above) the pharmacists are really nice.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Rebecca S.West Chester, PA02219Oct 13, 2016
Head Pharmacist is helpful, friendly and consistent. All the employees are nice and welcoming. They understand good customer service and they keep the store organized and clean. Someone is always there to point you to the right aisle!
