I'm finally getting around to writing a review, although the work happened awhile ago. When we noticed cracking in the walls at our house, we found three companies to call. I decided to hire the second company because they could do waterproofing in addition to structural repairs. I sure regret that decision! If I had called Ram Jack before hiring the other company, I would have been spared a two-year ordeal and the loss of thousands of dollars. Instead, I ended up calling Ram Jack for a second opinion, after problems developed with the other company.
Curt and Ken (the owner) came to do an assessment of our house. They were thorough and looked at the whole picture to determine what issues needed to be addressed, rather than just trying to sell their products and services. Their only recommendations were to replace a rotting support post in the basement and to direct water away from the foundation. When I told Ken what the other company had recommended and that most of the work had already been completed, he seemed shocked but did not use this as an opportunity to trash his competitor. Other people who looked at our house were not as charitable! I think this says a lot about Ken's character. The one recommendation from the other company that I thought might be justified was to pier a corner of the house that had settled about two inches. I was ready to sign off on this work but Ken strongly discouraged me from doing it, explaining that it was purely a cosmetic issue and that future settling was extremely unlikely because the water issue had been taken care of. He told me to at least wait a year and reassess the situation, turning down what would have been a 15-20 thousand dollar job.
What I did end up hiring Ram Jack to do, was to correct the problems caused by the other contractor and to get everything up to code. The City scrutinized all of the work done at our house because it was not up to code and the other company did not obtain the proper permits. Ken was willing to collaborate with an engineer and carpenter to get the job done at the lowest cost to me. Although some of the damage caused by the other company could not be remedied, I think he got the best results possible without doing more extensive repairs. Everyone I had contact with at Ram Jack was wonderful. They even offered to haul away debris left from a previous job. I sure appreciate Ken's willingness to take on a relatively small job and to step in and fix someone else's work; many companies are not willing to do that. If I ever have a need for structural repairs in the future, Ram Jack will be my FIRST phone call. I highly recommend this company.

Alex came out to take a look at my uneven floors and foundation cracks. Ultimately he explained that the floors were not indicative of a bigger issue and that they were a normal part of living in an older house in south Eugene. As for the cracks, they were also not a major issue but he advised that they be filled. He went on to say that these were not issues that required Ram Jack's services, explained what I should look out for in the future as well as how to prevent further issues. I cannot say enough about the relief Alex provided. I appreciated the honest evaluation and helpful input from a knowledgeable, experienced and personable professional. I highly recommend Ram Jack if you need an honest opinion from a company that won't try to sell you something you don't need. Ask for Alex. He was a sincere, solid, honest, intelligent young man. Ram Jack is lucky to have him.

Saved the 80 year old shed on our new property from falling down! We've got exciting plans for that old building with its old growth lumber and vintage glass paned windows!

The crew that finally came to our home were awesome! They got right to work & finished up sooner than expected. Professional & knew their stuff.
The owner & office people I would give one star to. HORRIBLE communication to say the least. We would call, leave a message - NO return call. Happened again & again.
One time called Ken (owner) & got through to him, he quickly said he was in a "meeting " & would call back (a Friday morning about 9:30) & NEVER called. This was a common occurrence with this company. If there were any other company we would have been able to find would have done in a heartbeat.
If you are not in a crunch time & don't mind lack of service then good to go

Alex was so professional and after checking all of our home measurements he said we were just fine and didn't need their services. Such a relief for us but also a relief to find an honest company.

Unfortunately, I wish our family had gone with Terra Firma. Solved some issues but caused many more. Perhaps you will have better luck! They came highly recommended so I was hoping for better results for the money.

5-Stars for Ram Jack not trying to sell us something we didn't need. And much appreciation for the analysis, great information and sharing of knowledge, perspective on related things and what's going on in the area and the state. Glad they're building a business based on credibility and good reputation and not just trying to scare or hype people into unnecessary expenditures. I tend to be a bit mistrusting of industries like this, where it's all voodoo to the common person. Their commercials are great, and now I have a reason to actually respect the business side of their operation.

The engineer came out and measured with state-of-the art equipment the level of every area of the house, inspected the foundation, got the house footprint, and analyzed every thing. Even discussed the cracks in the foundation, cracks in the ceiling and wall where an addition and the original house meet, and attributed it to the clay soil doing its normal expansion and contraction, and since the movement is minimal suggested a better way to compensate cosmetically. He said at the moment he didn't see anything to be concerned about, but if things move noticeably in 6 months when the soil dries, hardens and shrinks and we want to understand the dynamics better to call, and he can quickly re-measure, compare he can use that data to inform what's going on.

We got lucky. Even with Ram Jack, solutions can range to the small, to the semi-ouch to the major ouch, depending on what's going on with the house.

Our house sits on the edge of a Newport hillside that was involved in a major landslide 20 years ago. The hillside was rebuilt and has held very well. This spring when the house was empty after a long-term renter left, it became obvious that the sides of the house nearest the hillside had settled in those 20 years. There were major wall cracks in several rooms and the floor was clearly uneven--so we called Ram Jack West for an estimate. The estimator was very knowledgeable and explained in detail the serious work that was needed to restore stability to the foundation--10 helical piers to be drilled into the hillside until bedrock was reached. The $20,000 cost was over 1/3 less than another bid--and the work comes with a guarantee and low-interest financing was available through a Ram Jack connection.

The foundation work was completed in only 4 days by a very competent crew who worked hard, explained the whole process very clearly, and showed me how the helical piers were drilled down 45 feet to be solidly fixed. When they finished the work, they restored the area around the foundation so that no one could tell that any work had been done.

We are delighted and relieved to know that a company like Ram Jack is available in this area--we recommend them without reservation. If you need foundation work, this is the right place to come.

My experience with Ram Jack West was EXCELLENT! after scare mongering from a different company, see review (Innovative Foundation Solutions LLC), Cory Myron came out and did actual measuring, and concluded that my foundation is fine no work needs to be done. I found him to be professional, and HONEST. I would use this company in the future, but i hope i don't need to, lol. Furthermore, i would recommend them.
