It's been a couple years since last I was in Franklin, so I was a bit surprised to find a winery downtown! After attending my brother's wedding reception the wedding party and a few guests made our way down to R Bandana Winery - a favorite of my brother and his wife - to end the night on. That night they were having a Halloween costume party and many people were dressed up. A live band played music and there was plenty of room for people to dance.

At times it was a bit loud to comfortably talk to people so we would go outside where there was an area for people to smoke. We also could continue drinking outside, which is a plus when you want to depart from the crowd for a few minutes and get a breath of fresh air. The wine that I had was decent, fruity and sweet. Their sangria was very sweet but still nice. I would have preferred it a little less sweet, but that's just my preference.

There was plenty of seating inside and the waitstaff did their best to keep our table cleaned. I did not envy them that night with a room full of wedding guests and costume party attendees as it seemed at times that they were a bit overwhelmed - but its their first Halloween so that is to be expected. At the end of the night they gifted my brother the wine he drank so that was exceptionally sweet.

Horrible 1st (and last) experience. Incredibly rude personnel. As first time customers, it would have been nice to have been greeted with, "Hi, you can order your drinks from the bar when you are ready", rather than, "if you aren't going to order you have to get out"!
We were only in the door about 10 minutes and were trying to figure out where the servers were.
While this was being said to us, one in our party was already at the bar ordering for us.
We won't be back and want to give others a heads up.p

My husband and I, along with several friends, love the R** Bandana! I'm so glad Kate brought this great venue to Franklin! They offer a comfortable place to hang out and enjoy some of their great wine. (My fav is the Concord!) The entertainment on Friday and Saturday evenings is top-notch. There is no cover charge but they do ask that you spend a minimum of $5, which is certainly not asking much! Tuesdays is movie night at 7, Wednesdays is open-mic night if you know anyone wanting to show off their talent, and Thursdays is fun with karaoke! LOVE THE R** BANDANA!

Visited the winery on Feb 9, 2019 during the Franklin on Ice event. The band Mis'B'Havin was playing and there was a good crowd. We stayed for about 2 hours, but at the end of the night, winery staff were going around heckling anyone who didn't have drink in their hand, stating "there's no loitering" and "if you're not buying a drink, you'll have to leave." As the driver for our group, I told them that I had already purchased several rounds and would not be having anymore to drink. That apparently wasn't good enough for them, and several staff members told me I had to leave and became exceptionally rude, shouting obscenities at me. I will never go back!
