Ok, so I have high standards coming from Vancouver and having lived in SoCal, but this......
Vibe wise - having FIVE of those beckoning cats is just way too much.
The actual drink - the mangonada is nothing like the picture shows. I was expecting way more actual fruit, and instead got just...ice.
And WHAT IS UP WITH THE LIDS that don't actually fit?? My sub-par (but still $$$ at $7+ after tax) drink spilled a whole bunch because of the lid :(((Helpful 3Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sep 11, 2022
Came here recently and ordered the Roasted Oolong Milk Tea and Mangonada.
Service was friendly and our drinks were prepared quickly.
The Roasted Oolong milk tea was ok but I prefer a stronger tea flavor.
The Mangonada was overly sweet and with the recommended mango popping boba, it took the overly sweet to another level. Even with the ice melted, it was difficult to drink so I couldn't finish it.
Place is relatively clean and has nice decor. They have a cool gold fish tank in the back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 29, 2022
I spent $10 on a fruit tea, yes how we we get to this point? I walked in after browsing Nordstrom, as it was just next door and and decided to try something new. R&B tea has a pretty extensive menu with slushes, milk teas, fruit teas, and a few other specialty drinks. I got this fruit tea as recommended by staff and it was larger than a typical 16-20oz tea. My total came out to be just under $10 before tips, and I definitely experienced sticker shock. Granted, they are operating from a busy downtown location, so I expected more premium pricing, but this seems a lot, no? My tropical fruit drink was mostly filled with fresh fruit, but the tea base was nothing spectacular. I've heard positive reviews from friends, but I know I won't be craving this drink or price point any time soon, especially when there's plenty of tea shops in the area.

Location closed as of 2/29/2024. I wasn't able to get boba, here are some additional words to hit the required length.

Rhythm and blues; One of my favorite genres of music.
This boba spot did not hit all the feels whether that is the taste, boba quality or consistency.
Let's begin with the milk tea. I got my classic green milk tea. It was not flavorful. The boba consistency was wild, meaning some of the boba was soft and chewy, some of the boba was hard. This is troublesome for a boba place. Furthermore, it was a boba experience that I wish to forget.
Your call if you want to adventure to this boba spot.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 526802216Apr 13, 2022
R&B is a great tea spot, but this location is not significant to give the wow factor quite yet. Giving benefit of the doubt because it was literally the first day with lots to learn. Wishing the best of luck with the store and training, will have to revisit in the future.
The b2g1 promo on opening weekend sucked because you were forced to get three of the same drink, at least that's what we were told. R&B UW allowed you to mix up to try multiple drinks. Not even accounting for the fact that it was b1g1 at UW instead of b2g1. However, this review won't weigh heavy here because it is a promo that was honored, even if there were hidden terms that aren't explicitly advertised. Because of this fine print though, this review will only cover one drink being made here rather than a better, holistic view on more drinks.
Boba was much firmer than usual and thus much harder than the UW counterpart R&B. It's still chewable but did not feel fully cooked. However, the boba was sweet and had flavor which I appreciated. Would like a better texture but am satisfied in this compared to a chewy, flavorless boba.
However, the brown sugar milk was not as creamy as the UW counterpart. Here, it's basically sweet milk after stirring which is expected in brown sugar milk, but the UW R&B is super creamy, caramelly, and shows off the creme brulee flavor well. Here, it's not as strong. The ratio was definitely in favor of milk which means I paid $6 for milk and sugar. Also, the brulee wasn't as strong, seemed like they rushed through it (there was no line either, only took like 5 minutes for these drinks).
We did notice other brown sugar boba milks being glazed better on their sides, resembling the iconic tiger stripes with brown sugar. Ours was mainly milk with little notices of brown sugar as you can see.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Jul 2, 2022
This is a decent option for boba in Seattle. It's open a little later than most places, which makes it a great stop for unwinding after a show or concert.
Unfortunately, they were out of ice when I stopped by and therefore couldn't offer the Stormy drinks, which intrigued me. I ended up getting the Taro Milk Tea with boba (less sugar, less ice) and it was tasty. The taro flavor was strong and well balanced.
There's ample seating inside the shop which is a rarity in Seattle. Pricing is pretty standard for boba.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Oct 31, 2022
Was pretty disappointed they ran out of the cheese cream that i ordered but let me know after we already ordered and waited for the drinks. It was not busy at all when we came. I tried a branch in LA and was excited to try it out in Seattle. The brown rice milk tea 75% sweet was not bad. But hoping they can improve in the ordering process /ran out items communication workflow.

Just ok. I always want to try boba in metropolitan areas but this one fell short of my typical suburban one I regularly frequent. The store itself seemed dirty. The floor was so scuffed up I couldn't tell if it was clean. I ordered my drink and they set it on the counter and said nothing. I didn't know it was mine for 10 minutes until I was the only person left in the store. The thai boba itself was ok but such a weird experience that I won't be back.
