This place prides itself in making "Quick Sandwiches" hence their name Quicksand. I've been here a handful of times and each time I leave a satisfied customer. Their sandwiches are fresh made and they have good quality ingredients. For about $10, you can get a good meal. My favorite sandwiches here so far are:
CHIPOTLE SMOKED BRISKET - Thin sliced beef brisket topped with caramelized onion, melted white Cheddar and chipotle aioli. Served on ciabatta.
GRILLED SALMON FILLET - Grilled fresh salmon fillet topped with house-made chimichurri, arugula and shaved red onion. Served on ciabatta.
Will definitely be coming back here for lunch.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Nov 26, 2018
Quicksand is an awesome lunch place.
Parking is easy since you can find street parking.
There is indoor and some outdoor seating.
There are many different types of sandwiches so of course I decided to try the burger first. Yummy burger and I'm excited to try the sandwiches based on the many positive reviews for Quicksand.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - 8276564527Aug 21, 2017
Love this lunch spot. My Cobb salad was so, so filling! Gobs of blue cheese, pretty good dousing of dressing but not to the point of wilting the salad. Perfectly ripe and firm cherry tomatoes, and perfectly chopped bacon. It's a substantial portion and very satisfying!
I've also ordered carry out from them and platters for delivery. It's always been a hit and I find their pricing to be fair. Tucked into a small two story strip mall, typical for Santa Monica Blvd. it's a cute spot with more charm than you'd expect. Limited parking though so take note.
You can also order ahead and walk in to pick it up. Great spot with a great menu and good rotating specials too!Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Mia R.Los Angeles, CA288263760Apr 28, 2019
I was scrolling through Postmates on my lunch break at work for something decently priced with free delivery, and decided to give Quicksand a try! Unfortunately my delivery took 2 hours because someone decided to snag my entree before my driver could- however that wasn't the restaurants fault at all.
My burger was absolute fire, making my 2 hour wait completely worth it. The restaurant was also very kind and allowed me to reorder my stolen food without any extra charge! My veggie burger was grilled very well and there was American cheese carefully melted on top. The fries were my absolute favorite- they were crispy and seasoned to perfection!!
I hope to order from here again soon- I just hope no one tries to steal my food again next time!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Oct 24, 2019Updated review
I went again to take home a bbq pulled pork on GF ciabatta sandwich. Purely Devine. The sandwich contains an ample amount of meat in a sweet bbq sauce and the salad is filled with fresh greens and crunchy things with a white balsamic dressing. So far the 3 different sandwiches I have tried have all been delicious. This is a great little gem in a small corner mini market on Santa Monica Boulevard. Run there or walk slowly, but stop and savor the great sandwiches and salads.

My second visit I tried their best seller- Chipotle Smoked Brisket. This delicious sandwich is thinly sliced smoked beef brisket topped with carmelized onions, melted white cheddar and chipotle aioli on a GF ciabatta roll. The sandwich comes with a crisp fresh salad with a white balsamic dressing. Just fantastically tasty. Two great sandwiches so far and more to try.

I had a GF bbq pulled pork sandwich with Asian cole slaw on the rosemary ciabatta that was very delicious. I will definitely go back to try some of there other sandwiches.

In the neighborhood and hungry so used Yelp to find this great little spot. Did the Covid pre-order and pick up. Pastrami was the best I've ever had!
Round sweet bun with juicy meat that had nice crispy edges, crunchy deli pickles and their spin: thousand island dressing! Sooo good!
Fries were thin and crispy delicious.

Quicksand's Turkey Banh Mi Tloaf and the house salad are some of my favorite things to eat around here. Customer service is great and the sandwiches are always on point. The restaurant is always bright and clean as well. 5 stars all around.

We stopped by the LA area to find a good place to eat and found Quicksand from the multiple positive reviews and appetizing pics. It was also convenient because it was only about a mile away from where we were.
When we arrived, the parking was packed because of the late lunch rush, but were able to find a spot. Looking into Quicksand, the restaurant seemed pretty busy with the flood of people eating, but luckily they were finishing up and about to thin out. We still decided to order takeout since traffic would be bad heading home. As I entered, the smell of the shop was inviting and the design was very modern and clean. The menu selection was fairly expansive which took me some time to figure out what I want. I finally decided to get the grilled chicken breast sandwich with fries.
After I ordered, I waited about 10-12 minutes until it was ready. The aroma of the chicken breast was simply mouthwatering. I also just found out that there's an option to add bacon to the meal. I wanted to add bacon while it was being cooked but it was too late. Besides, who doesn't love bacon? Lol. The total bill was about $20 for two meals.
Heading home, I immediately opened up the food to go and my first bite was the fries. The fries were very hot and crispy with an adequate amount of seasoning. Next up was the chicken breast sandwich. The breading was warm and soft with fresh tomato and arugula. Biting into it was incredibly flavorful with juicy chicken dripping on my hand and delicious mayo spread. I usually don't eat while driving, but this sandwich had to be devoured. If I ever visit LA again, this will definitely be a go to restaurant.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Chuck D.Cerritos, CA0123Feb 14, 2020
Had the grilled cheese with frÃes- delicious !
Nice customer service ...
Not particularly fast with the food.
But, I guess it's in the name
" quicksand" can feel like your stuck.
If you have the time it's definitely worth it. If you're in a rush, either phone ahead or skip it for next time.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 16, 2016
The most interesting sounding sandwich on their menu was the Turkey Banh MI-tloaf, which I got for lunch with an order of fries.
The bread was topped with Banh-Mi-style ingredients (slaw, cucumbers) and the sauce (Sriracha aioli) was really tasty. The meatloaf was supposedly "Far East-inspired," but it tasted like normal meatloaf to me. The only difference was the texture and size... there were two sandwich-width meatloaf patties. Not really sure why the meatloaf wasn't just rolled into one ball and flattened out.
The size of the sandwich was good and the fries that came with it were good as well.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
