My family and I have used this association for more than 20 years, it has always been a reference, I have always recommended it to my family and friends, but unfortunately for the last 3 years the services at this location, especially the customer service, have been completely disoriented and aimless. They put unprepared people to serve an audience that deserves much more than these kids can provide to the good old customers of this place. A total disregard for moral values. Bad service is completely precarious and without experience, a turbulence of inconsequential. Dr. it is the only one that saves from all these problems. Well, I think today was my last time and I don't intend to go back to this place anymore !! unfortunately after the departure of the exceptional professional Mr. Caesar, this place is dying.

I'm surprised to read mostly negative reviews because I had a great experience at Queens Eye Associates for my general eye exam. I used to dread going to the optometrist since my eyes are quite sensitive, so I didn't appreciate the various procedures and I disliked my experiences at my previous physician's office. In the past I always felt rushed and that my eyes weren't carefully inspected. But I've found my go-to optometrist Dr. Yoon Kim and I won't consider seeing anyone else!
I booked my appointment the night before and there was availability for the following afternoon. Booking through Zocdoc is simple and the office contacted me the following day to see if I can come in 40 minutes earlier than scheduled since my appointment would take about an hour. It wasn't a problem, so when I arrived at the office and filled out forms, I waited about 5-7 minutes, which wasn't long at all. Initially I was booked for Dr. Chung, but she was busy, so I saw Dr. Kim instead and I'm so glad I did. Dr. Kim is amazing! My appointment consisted of a general checkup to see the overall health of my eyes, eye exam to update my eye glasses and contact lenses prescriptions and a brief consultation with Caesar regarding my contacts. The entire appointment lasted about 1 hour 10 minutes.
Dr. Kim was very thorough in examining my eyes, explained every detail clearly and addressed any questions I had. Apparently my eyes are very very dry where it borders on severe and could significantly affect the health and vision of my eyes going forward. This was news to me as my previous optometrist never mentioned any irregularities in my eyes in the past. Dr. Kim was meticulous throughout the appointment, and explained each step as she went along. She made me feel comfortable and at ease, even after she administered 3 different eye drops. She recommended 2 types of eye drops to treat my extremely dry eyes, that I switch to dailies, and decrease my contact lenses wear. She also held off updating my eyeglasses prescription until my cornea is treated, since this would inform my vision. Dr. Kim was careful and patient during the entire appointment and I highly recommend her.
Caesar who assisted in giving me a trial set of daily contact lenses was very friendly and patient. It's convenient to order the contacts and eyeglasses with this section of the office, that serves as a store. However without vision coverage, this consultation was an additional $50. I don't see how a simple 5 minute encounter to switch to these daily contacts came to that amount. That was my only critique on my experience. The office assistants were friendly and addressed any concerns I had. Overall I had a really pleasant time and will be booking my future annual eye exams here.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - Calin I.New York, NY035Mar 31, 2021Updated review
Doctor very unprofessionallack of ethics and bedside manners, I need a doctor, someone that study, trained, and engaged to help others, no just someone that works for the money. I read google reviews and owner dismissed and basically call them liars, here is a picture of my prescription of the only and last visit, do yourself a favor, do not even think about it coming here, You could read the name of the doctor on it.

Feb 26, 2021Previous reviewI had an appointment with Dr So Hyun Chung, this was confirmed two days before by the supervisor of the Queens Eye Associates, then the front desk also confirmed prior the visit. The supervisor told me that She asked the doctor to make sure everything will be ok to be assisted that day at 3 pm on 05/20/2020. I went to the appointment and as soon as I got there I notice something was not right, the assistant was very rude, so I did not know it was only the beginning of it. Dr So Hyun Chung called me, while walking into the room I introduced myself properly when I notice She already seem upset and very uptight, then She was still acting in a very strange attitude. She was rushing and seemed unhappy with me being there, so I started feeling uncomfortable and my body temperature went up, so I asked if she could open door to get more air BC I was not feeling good based on her bedside manners. Then she started rushing and told me that her driver was waiting for her outside, and she was not supposed to be there working after 3pm, I told her that if she was unhappy and can not be professional because she stayed after 3pm for an appointment that she actually confirmed and that the manager also confirmed with me on the phone, she could have told me me that I could have come back in a proper time, then she did not say anything, even thought I told her that, things did not change. After all this she still kept acting improper, rude, no professional and lack of empathy for my medical condition, she was only worry about leaving, and not making her driver waitingany longer, I have not idea how a doctor would not be embarrassed of saying and acting that way, years of study, preparation, engagement to support people's health and provide help to people that needs medical assistance. The funny thing is that after we finish, I stayed talking with the gentleman of the optica, and she was stilll in the front desk gossiping with the girls at the front desk. After all her medical mistreatment I contacted the supervisor that I spoke before, told her the situation, she offered me to have a new appointment in the Manhattan location, that she was going to talk to the owner and confirm with me but then she never called me back, I called her again twice but there was never and answer about the appointment or this situation. I would not suggest people that want to be respected, valued and taking care of their medical conditions to be assisted by this doctor.

Ceaser is seriously so rude, in my option he should be fired and he does not care about this job and have no respect for people with English as a second language
I came here since I was young and it's been like 15 years and recently got my new glasses here. They take forever to call to say that my glasses are done. And they didn't even call and we had to call ourselves just to find out when I come that my glasses was switched with my sisters so I came 8/8 and till this day 8/25 my glasses has not arrived. Their customer service is shit and should run out of business.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Anonymous A.Queens, Queens, NY111Dec 27, 2019
Place seems to have downsized significantly over the years. I remember when there were a lot more doctors and patients, now it seems more empty with only one or two optometrists around. Wait times are usually around the longer side, although I'm not very concerned about that (waiting times are usually very long for this kind of thing).
However, they do overcharge on eye and contact exams, and will pressure you to pay for a lot of underlying charges that you don't need, especially if you're on Medicaid/Medicare or paying out of pocket. I went a while back because my glasses broke and I wanted to have a few options on what to do--they told me I'd have to pay out of pocket to replace the frames alone for 85 bucks. The guy also tried to pressure me into replacing the lens as well (only the frame was broken). Needless to say, I declined the offer to replace them.
I could get an updated eye exam and completely new glasses for around that same price they tried to charge to replace the frames alone. I'm just going to get an eye exam at Costco/Walmart (you can get an eye exam at Costco even if you're not a member!) and use the prescription to order glasses online for a price that's much cheaper than you'd get at an optometrist's place (they usually overcharge for glasses/contacts). Unfortunately, I will not be coming back. While I mostly went because the location was convenient, it's a shame--a lot of the doctors (back when the place was bigger and busier) were very nice and personable. Front desk people were nice and polite, in my experience, but the place just charges way too much, and quality has really declined over time.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Berninigioto I.New York, NY02Feb 12, 2021
The Dr. So Hyun Chung, OD is very unprofessional, disrespectful and offensive, she just wanted my money, I also reported her to the insurance, I would highly DO NOT RECOMMEND this place at all, and by the way the guy name Cesar of the optical is a gentleman big in attitude, not helpful and rude.

Avoid this place if you can. My mom ordered a specific kind of glasses, and when she got her glasses, the order was wrong. She paid for the glasses which she can't even wear... I told her that she should not have paid this place.

FRAUD! SCAMMERS! Make sure you call ahead of time to your insurance and double check with the office before you go in. DO NOT SIGN THE CO PAY FORM. They will use that form against you to make you pay for more stuff than you actually need. This place needs to be shut down. They are taking advantage of people and basically overcharging their health insurance to get more money.
Cesar is rude and should be fired! I've never had such a horrible experience at a doctor's office before.
DO NOT COME TO THIS OFFICE!Helpful 9Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - R W.New York, NY2731816Oct 20, 2018
Came here for an annual eye exam, appointment was for 1120am, arrived on time and I still had to wait another hour just to be seen for a 5 min procedure. If I am on time, why aren't you guys? I would not recommend coming here if you look forward to a long wait time. Your appointment time doesn't even matter. Not coming back, see ya!!
