On a girl's trip dot my friend's birthday, I looked up this speakeasy steakhouse in the Wynwood area of Miami. I was blown away by the reviews and pics, but stepping inside was on a whole new level.
The hostess, who I also figured was the manager greeted us with the most heartfelt welcoming, and sat us down immediately. He even gave the table complimentary shots for the celebration!
There was also a saxophonist playing the entire time, just serenading all of us! I mean, what else is the best way to enjoy dinner without great live music??
As far as the food?!? Omg! I wanted to kiss the chef. I had the lamb on top of mash potatoes, that melted in my mouth. I ordered it medium, and the temperature was cooked to perfection. Along with the lamb, we ordered a bowl of lobster Mac and cheese that was full of lobster in every bite.
The ambiance was super nice for a date night, or celebratory dinner. Be mindful there is a dress code, which I feel is totally necessary. I'm just saying, if I am in Miami again, I am definitely coming back here!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Aug 30, 2021
This place just never disappoints! They managed to get us in last minute on a Saturday evening. The service is always great and the food is alway delicious. The Drinks Are top notch as well. I have been 6 times and I always leave happy. The live jazz music is always a hit and the food is just always great! I truly appreciate this place. Upstairs is always a good time but my last two visits it was closed.
Highly recommend this place !Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 159243522Apr 9, 2021
Food was delicious! I had the skirt steak with cilantro rice and it was amazinh. We also had a few appetizers to share:
- Mac and cheese: I give it a 10
- Octopus: I give it a 10
- Tuna tartare: Im giving it an 8 only because it was pretty small, but the flavor was amazing.
We also had two deserts to share, the red velvet cake and the oreo cheescake. I have to say that I do not like res velvet cake, but this one!! Oh my god it was soooo good! Even better than the oreo one (which is always my favorite).
The drinks were also pretty good. They do not have a lot of drinks in the menu but the server was more than happy to make news ones just for us :)
The server was also very nice and have the best advices.
I went here on a Thursday but have heard that on Friday and Saturday they have live jazz, so I will need to come back again!Helpful 15Thanks 0Love this 15Oh no 0Business owner information

Thank you so much Barbara for your kind review. We are so glad you enjoyed your dinner. Next time make sure to also try the salmon tartare. It’s my favorites!!! Next weekend we are opening back our second floor lounge.

Everything here was phenomenal! We made reservations since we wanted to go on a Saturday. That morning, an employee from the restaurant called to confirm our reservation.
The service was great. Our waiter was on point with his recommendations. Drinks were amazing. Food arrived quickly after ordering and was delicious. The ceviche was very flavorful and fresh. The lobster Mac and cheese was amazing as well! The croquettas were good but I'd probably go with something else next time.
I'd love to come back and try a few more items from the menu. Definitely recommend this place!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 10, 2021
I came here for a friends birthday dinner and all I can say is WOWWWW!!!!! First things first you definitely need to have a reservation as seating is limited. I started off with the Lobster Croquettes and amazing. I almost burned myself cause I couldn't stop eating. For dinner I got the Lobster Mac & Cheese which again heavenly. My friends ordered the scallops and salmon. I've never been to a restaurant where everything I tasted was amazing. For my drink had the Reverse Vesper Martini and baby if I had another one I would have be carried out. Our waitress whose name escapes me was great. The live saxophone player
Really set the tone and vibe. This restaurant is great for any kind of occasion and I will definitely be back!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I had Prohibition on my list to try for years. Do not even ask me what took me so long to get there because I have really been missing out!
I had the great opportunity to visit for NYE where they offered a special menu that included one salad, two appetizers, two entrees, and a dessert.
We, of course, had the salad that was so amazingly refreshing. Wow! I can only dream of trying to recreate it at home; I might as well just visit again. Then for appetizer -- we both chose meatballs. I have no regrets at all-- those meatballs are AMAZING. Wonderfully seasoned and accompanied with a robust sauce and delicious bread. I could pretty much stop here but I didn't. The portions allow you to take some home for sure. I had the raspberry mojito and it was delicious too!
For entrees- NY strip steak w/truffle fries and short rib with mashed potatoes. Honestly I took most of my entree home to eat at another time, but I did taste it there and it was delicious.
Also important, the service was great. I wish I remembered the name of the staff member who helped us-- she did an amazing job at helping us enjoy our time there. My friend called the hostess a few times before our visit and said that he was super helpful as well!
Very well done, Prohibition. I will be back!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Nirmala E.Aventura, FL143810Jan 25, 2022
Headed over to Prohibition after our first reservation fell through. They were super nice and able to accommodate with a 5 min notice.
Environment was great and music was at a perfect volume to chat with our friends over dinner. Our server was a little pushy but he insisted on the tequila shots and we obliged. Instead of sharing the plates we opted to order our own entrees. Ordered the tuna tartare to start and while a little over salted was great. The braised short ribs however were perfect, melt in your mouth and flavorful. Highly recommend. Did a side order of the cilantro rice as while flavorful was a little heavily seasoned.
Would definitely recommend. Great atmosphere and they even had a pop saxophonist playing on Friday night.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sep 3, 2021
Prohibition is one of my go-to restaurants. Its a bit pricey, but it's so worth it. I've eaten over half the menu, and have never been disappointed. Anyone I bring here is extremely pleased!! One of my absolutes each time I visit: the lamb chops!!! My drink of choice is the white orchid (not pictured) made with tequila reposado. Thank me later ;)

Last night we decided to come here for a friends birthday dinner. I've always wanted to go but for some reason haven't. I'll say firstly the service and the food did not disappoint at all!! It was great! The food was excellent. I had the pan roasted snapper for my entree and I'll say it was one of my top 3 snapper dishes of all time and the sauce was smooth, creamy and full of flavor. The hummus was also excellent and probably the best I've ever had! My friends raved about their meals as well. The drinks we had were well made and delicious as well. I had the Mary Pickard which was sweet and refreshing and nice to sip on.
So why the 3 you ask? Well, the music was so loud we had to shout at one another and still couldn't hear what was said. They had a sax player playing along with the music and he would come to the tables and play in your face because space is tight to move around. While he was great too, if I'm eating my food, you blowing your sax in my ear isn't pleasant. The space is too small for something like that. I believe they also charge what they call "fees" for that. No, I don't really find that pleasant nor do I want to be charged $30 for it. The restroom is super dark. I won't expand on that.
Lastly, we wanted to go dance and have fun upstairs but we were watching groups of people go up then straight back downstairs. The lounge used to be a great time drinking and dancing from my understanding. It had a great mix of house, hip hop, old school and different types of music to dance to. Well, that is completely gone now. There were 6-7 people in there sitting and listening to Latin salsa and it wasn't even good salsa music. I actually felt embarrassed for the place. Maybe covid got the best of their DJ? They couldn't find a better one? Maybe people are afraid to go dance in a closed room? But no, people were going straight up then straight down and out. At least 40 people that we saw while eating dinner at 10. Heartbreaking. However, a lovely woman came and bought us drinks and made us smile. We left ten minutes later.
All in all, I'd say if you want AMAZING FOOD AND SERVICE and don't care about the loud music playing or don't want to speak to the people your eating with this place IS INCREDIBLE! I'll be back for the food and the revamp of the upstairs area and pray the house, hip hop and mix of fun ass music you can shake a booty to comes back! When I do, I'll post a new review.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sep 29, 2021
I came here on a Tuesday night for the first time. Place is very small and intimate. The food doesn't come all at once it's as prepared so you might get your food and the other person can be waiting for theres. I will say that that was something new to me to have my friend get her food while I had to wait for mine. The food we had was prime rib and skirt steak. The prime rib was delicious and so was the steak, my only complaint is that it was a tad bit salty. Overall I think there are far better places in Miami to dine in
