Prohealth Bethpage Island Medical Group

Place is a joke. One of the doctors referred me to another one in another group. That doctor, who knows my Optum/Prohealth doctor, sent me for pre-surgical bloodwork. I go to Optum to the lab and get told they won't see me because the doctor who put the orders in isn't from Optum.

I asked my primary if he would take the orders from the other doctor (which I had) and put them through for me since I was there already and was under a time constraint. Instead I am told "I don't do that.."

This place couldn't give a damn about patients. Money money money money money.....

Go somewhere else if you're looking for a doctor who cares about the patient instead of his wallet. He's lucky I'm leaving his name out of this.

I was seeing a PA there for a few years for my diabetes and thyroid. I was running out of metformin and had my pharmacy put in an order for a refill. They never heard back. I went on the website and requested a refill several times and then left a voice message. Finally someone got back to me telling me she left earlier in the year and no one ever notified me. Their phone system is ridiculous. You can't leave a message for a doctor like you used to and the my chart website is useless. They said they could send me somewhere a long distance from my house. No thanks! Now I have to find another provider.

This facility is absolutely amazing. I was at an all time low with numerous health issues and saw Dr Beresford Jones. I've never met such a hostile medical professional in my life. I'm not sure if he was having a bad day but he certainly took it out on me, I'm not quite sure what his issue is. After that experience the manager and staff have gone out of their way to help me. Because of the staff I decided to stay with the practice and am working with Dr. Zaggaria who is incredibly knowledgeable, cares for her patients and is understanding. With having numerous health issues it's really wonderful to have a medical team that cares and wants to see you feeling better. Be ware of Dr. Jones unless you enjoy being gaslit but the rest of the staff I can not say enough wonderful things about.

I called to see my primary doctor and was told he was booked fully but if I chose I could see a PA. I did and was later billed the copay for a specialist. That was a differance of $35 dollars and after complaining I was told that there was nothing they could do about the extra charge. They are a bunch of crooks.
On another occasion I went to the pro health urgent care because my doctor was not available and they have a sign that says that the co-pay for a visit is the same as seeing your Pc.. I paid $10 and was later billed for $35 because the person I saw was a specialist.
This seems to me to be a bait and switch tactic to get more money from me and the insurance companies.

i've been going there 28 years it was all good ....the past few days i couldn't even get a call thru.. they do not answer the phone they hang up n say call back later ...call back later what the hell a dr office omg what is seriously going on here....my dr jones n i needed help n they did not call back i can not believe this treatment to there patients....i'm really upset n in shock

Beware of overbilling at this office. I called to ask for their recommendation of over the counter medicine for Covid. Told I HAD to schedule a telemedicine visit to get that answer. Spoke with the doctor for less than 15 minutes over a zoom call to be told they recommend tea and Tylenol. Was billed $250 afterwards.

Left several messages for the nurse who works with Dr. Fishbein. She never called back.
Also tried the urgent care number and could not reach anyone for help. Seriously going to change physicians.

I see Dr. Buffa. I have no complaints about him. He is a very qualified and attentive physician and provides quality care. Unfortunately, you need to leave a message to make an appointment and the secretary NEVER calls back. I am already on my third message in nearly three weeks to book my annual physical and still haven't heard back. This is a constant issue, I may actually have to switch to another practice, which is unfortunate because I like my doctor and have been seeing him for over 10 years; he knows my medical history and everything. I would hate to have to start over again.

Its a little easier to make a same day or urgent appointment since that goes directly to an operator.

Love the location and the staff is exceptional! I see Dr.Jones and he is on time and caring to my concerns!

My husband and I have been seeing Dr. Joseph Nestola for 20 years and appreciate the good care he gives us and how much he goes the extra mile for us and really cares about us. Twelve years ago we moved 1 hour away from his office and we refused to change doctors. Dr. Nestola is worth the 1 hour trip it takes to get to him. You just don't find doctors like him anymore. We love the care we get from Dr. Nestola.
