I had heard a lot of positive feedback about Portofinos in Quinns Rocks, and from all accounts is a bit of a place to go.

19th of December 21, I went there as part of a small business alliance as an end of year, Christmas get together.

The venue itselt is on point, with great views. Downside as we sat in the bar area (opposte side to the formal dining area) as the sun starts to set you are blinded by the sun..We retreated to the furtherest back seats as possible.

The food itself was dissapointing to say the least. Friends had Calamari and politely said it was not enjoyable, another had chicken and although initally excited were let down.

I had the rump, ordered medium rare. it looks like I ended up with the tail cut of the rump. ideal piece if you butterfly and tenderise, however this was full of sinue, tough as hell and probably a piece I would have used as a slow cooked piece or stock base.

To me the Chef was too lazy to open a new cryovac and slice a fresh piece or he is under the pump to be as frugal as possible and use everything.

The steak itself was cooked unevenly with some areas medim and others rare, That is not exactly the spirirt of ordering a medium rare steak.

Without any showboating or theatrics on my part, the other guests commented on how much effort I was using to cut the steak.

I did not complain, trust me I normally would but I was famished and the other reasons, I was being shouted, and other the people who pushed for us to go there were friends of the manager and intially oblivious to the poor quality of meals served to us until tonight.

By the end of it all, I think their overly positive and blinkered praise of the establishment had waned.

Would I go there again, if it was a freebie maybe. otheriwse no.

No excuse for lack of quality control, in product.

Been coming to Portofinos for years and still don't mind visiting every so often.

It has a decent menu (a bit limited in my opinion) with a decent range of beverages - however the pricing has slowly increased over the years.
Never had a complaint with the food.

The views are what you go for. Brunch overlooking the ocean, couldn't get any better.

The only issue is that it can get a little packed around brunch - noon, and it gets ridiculously noisy in there. Often large families with children - you get the idea.

Not my favourite place, but it's a nice stop once in awhile for brunch overlooking the beach.

I do recommend if you don't mind the noise.

Decent food. A little pricey. The food wasn't outstanding nor was it bad in any way. The cannoli was yummy but the chocolate sauce on the bottom of the plate was gross. I had to try and wipe it off the cannoli. Honestly it ruined it. The music was WAY too loud. Especially considering it was father's da6 so it was packed with lots of people trying to talk and children being loud. The music was just too much. Although i was happy to at least hear one Dallas Green song in there. All up..nit a bad place. Would go there again.

Without sounding like a total snob, I wasn't expecting too much when my friend suggested meeting very far north at Portofinos Cafe in Quinns Rock yesterday. You do find the standard of food can decrease the further you head out from Perth City.

Anyway I was pleasantly surprised, as Portofinos was really good. The food was nice and the location is right on the beach with an uninterrupted view of the ocean.

There's the cafe (slightly cheaper with no alfresco area) and then there's a more fancy restaurant next door which has an alfresco area.

I had the chilli mussels and the wedges and they were good. I thought the prices were quite reasonable too. Chilli mussels were $22.

The only downside is the toilets are the outside beach toilets and there was no lighting and they were a bit scary.

I come to have my daily soy latte here. I have a reputation for being the crazy lady who orders extra cookies. Love the food, coffee and 5 star customer service! Only thing is I would love to see more healthier options on the menu or coffee loyalty programs for the regulars.

      Extra biccies as per usual

I love this place. Gorgeous food, great location (although after dark you miss out on the view) and fantastic service. When it is packed the place is loud and echoing making it hard to hear your dining mates speak to you but the food is so good who has time for talking!

Myself and my husband have been several times. The first time we didn't actually want to go because I wasn't too keen on the original Portofinos in Hillarys... it couldn't be more different. I have heard people say it is pricey but I wonder if they have been anywhere in Perth recently?! To me the prices are similar to taverns where you order at a counter and pick up your own food! $30 - $40 for mains, not a huge selection but I have tried 5 mains and they have all been fantastic. Also has a fairly decent 'by the glass' wine list.

We will be interstate for at least a couple of years which means we won't be back for a while.. but we will be back :-)

I really enjoy this place, situated literally on top of Quinns beach is this amazing restaurant and attached and equally amazing cafe. This delightful place is open in the day time and a perfect lunch time spot. It sells some beautiful food like a pumpkin fritter or home made soups.

It is one of those places that anyone can find something that suits there taste. I am a vegetarian and they have a wide range of decent options and those that I have tried are yummy.

I think this place is just stunning and the prices are really reasonable especially considering the location.

We had an early dinner meal here. We were first to arrive about 5.15pm, we sat with children outside in the fenced off grassed area, great for the kids to burn off some energy while we waited for our food. We had quite a wait for our food which was frustrating, however the food was phenomenal. The special of the day was great value for money, steak was cooked to perfection and the children's meals were really tasty. Delicious, modern Australian fare.

Next to their restaurant Portofinos also has a pretty amazing cafe. It is a great place to come for breakfast or lunch. They keep their windows open in summer time to enjoy the ocean breeze and during winter it is fantastic to look out to stormy weather over the sea. Their coffee is amazing quality and I've often enjoyed a latte there, I would also recommend their pancakes for a little breakfast treat, so delicious! It is a family friendly place, good to catch up with a friend or to go enjoy a good cup of coffee and a sea view. There is plenty of parking outside, and after your meal you can go walk it off along the beach or cycle path that runs along the coast! To many good reasons to say no to going.

Watch the sunset over the Indian Ocean at Portofinos. This custom made restaurant features wall to wall glass windows overlooking the ocean. The rest of the decor is minimal, allowing the ocean views to be the crowning glory. Although it is a big of a hike to get to Quinns, the views definitely warrant the extra time in the car. This place is actually split into a restaurant and cafe during the day. It can be opened up for larger functions. The restaurant is a great place for a romantic dinner for two.

The service is friendly and efficient. They quietly appear to top up drinks and check on everything without becoming annoying or obtrusive. The food is modern mediterranean cuisine. The prices are reasonable. I recommend the oysters, they were cooked to perfection.
