I don't understand the negative reviews for this location. So far, out of the 3 places I've gone to in Chicago, this is by far the nicest one.
The girl working at the front was friendly and greeted me when I checked in. She was kept busy cleaning and even helping late comers who were interested in memberships. I wish I got her name but she worked the late shift on Feb 18, 2023.
The washrooms are bright, clean and well maintained. I like how the lockers are like cages so you can see if anyone is using it without a lock. This location has the best benches with the wide seats and mid sections instead of just straight line benches. In addition, I prefer the wide open format as opposed to the multi floor levels in some places. I'd say whoever is giving negative reviews are being overly critical. As a Black Card Member I liked to try different PF locations when doing errands around the city. I was on my way out to a West Suburbs and decided to beat traffic by doing my workout at this location.
Clean and friendly staff. The location was not too busy and nice big parking lot. I was able to use my own sanitizing bottle which I appreciated. On this day I started with the Total Body Equipment. This is truly why I keep a membership of Planet Fitness gyms. I think the TBE to be help with lower back stiffness. It is also supposed to help with skin-tone and cellulite. I followed this by weight lifting for 45 mins. Most of the standard equipment was available. I did notice this equipment is older than most PFs and lower weight capacity on some machines. all-in-all good experience. I love this place but I wish the members observed the rules in the 30 minute express room. This is my favourite workout but even at 4 in the morning there are people on their phones not using the space for its intended use. There are tons of places to be on your phone and workout.just not THIS space.

The staff is friendly and I appreciate that they do a good job of keeping sanitizing spray bottles stocked even with the masking and vaccine mandates lightening up.

I love the convenience of this place but it just keeps getting dirtier and dirtier! It is super gross and I have been a member since the summer of 2017. The areas where you stretch out has NEVER I mean NEVER been vacuumed. The floors need a super deep cleaning and the bathrooms also. The staff is always friendly but there are usually a bunch of them standing around and hanging out talking to one another and I never see anyone actually cleaning! Perhaps the owner needs to start paying a service to clean and keep up on things. There is always cleaning equipment out but why are they not being used!

Awful location. I usually love PF but aside from the bathrooms and showers always being filthy, the front desk staff at this specific location are rude, immature, and utterly abusive toward gym members. I wish I was joking, but this morning a front desk employee (young woman, long dyed, red hair, face tattoo) called my Black partner a racial slur under her breath as we checked into the gym. I was speechless and didn't know what to say. I will be filing a complaint with the manager Dylan as well as corporate and we will not be using this location anymore. Frankly I hope the young woman is fired from the gym entirely. Another time, a MALE employee followed my partner into the FEMALE locker room at 1am and shouted at her. Just insane. I love Chicago for how accepting its people are and it's so deeply disappointing to see my partner treated that way. I don't recommend using this particular location if you are a mixed race couple or a Black woman, period. I will be telling my friends and family who use PF to consider pulling their memberships entirely as well. Love PF but this location has some serious staff attitude issues. So disappointing.

I highly recommend not joining these gyms, they are letting teenagers in for free and they come in groups and sit around the machines and talk and take pictures, those making it impossible to get a workout. If you go to their Facebook page and read the post you will see all the paying members complaining and planet fitness just tell them to talk to the club managers, who's answers are it's corporat's rules.
