I have been here several times. Like everyone, 2018 is about new goals. I have changed up my work out routine from traditional weight lifting to Pittsburgh Kettlebell and Performance.

There is nothing wrong with traditional weight lifting. I just fell in a rut and did the same exercises at the same times during the week.

PKP really mixes it up. I have been to 4 classes and exposed to 3 different instructors. The workouts are different and more circuit consistency. The participants are super helpful for newbs like me.

The trainers are very conscientious to ensure you do not hurt yourself. They make sure your form is on point and urge you to use lighter weights.

The classes are well organized (usually split into groups and the groups are doing different exercises).

Overall - it is a high recommend. I am still not able to do everything the veterans do, but I am getting better each day.

Tip - I learned from a veteran - wear sandles / flip flops and put your shoes on once you are inside. The entire floor is matted so they ask you not to have a different pair for inside so you do not track water, salt, dirt, etc...

      Overall:

Atmosphere - Fun, Busy, the hour goes fast

Cost - surprisingly very affordable. This would be ideal to augment a gym. Cheaper than a personal trainer and you get huge benefits

Routines - very different - I don't think I have done the same thing once in the past 2 weeks of going.

I started at PKB on a whim via a living social deal soon after they opened. Little did I know I would be a member there for over a year. The members and number of trainers have grown immensely from when I started but the customer service is still the same. Everyone from the owners to the trainers to the members are great.... Down to earth, encouraging, etc. These are group workouts that push you but everyone does it at their own level so it works.

I unfortunately had to leave the gym due to factors beyond my control but after I get resituated and back on a regular schedule I will be calling Gina to reinstate me at PKB. Not sure what I miss more, the workouts or the people/trainers/owners.

Just completing my 1st week and it hurts so good. The positive atmosphere and knowledgeable trainers are crucial elements for me during this journey. My only regret is not joining sooner.

This gym is 5 stars for sure. The manager/business owner is very efficient. When I initially contacted her she replied back to me within 10 minutes & continues to always check in and stay on top of how I'm enjoying the gym throughout my membership. The gym is awesome, the workouts are so different but make you feel so accomplished and fierce afterward. I highly recommend this gym!

Great gym. Started here a few years ago, completely opened up a whole different side of training that I had not experienced before. I had always "lifted weights", barbell/dumbbell, but training here is a different experience. I still train with barbells on my own, but coming to PK&P I am exposed to new challenges everyday. I train here 4x week. One thing that I have to mention, coming from the heavy squat/bench/deadlift world with barbells...for about 3 months I strictly trained here at PK&P. Didn't touch a barbell in that time. Decided to get back into my heavy barbell routine...and was able to rep more weight (non max) than I had been able to before my time off. That's saying something. Great gym, great people. Love being here.

I can't say enough great things about the staff and owners of this gym. It's not a chain so they really care about your well being and have always given me great customer service. Classes are limited to 12 people, but there are so many times and days available that there is not a problem getting into classes. I've been going since Oct 2014, and you become very connected with your fellow gym mates and it feels like one big family. Everyone is welcoming and the environment is not intimidating. The workouts are tough but they will get you strong and in shape if you don't give up. There are nice mix of men and women in the classes. I don't have children but they recently started a class for kids which would be great if you have an up and coming athlete in your house.

Good coaching and good workouts. I would recommend PKP as a supplement to athletics and/or running.

I couldn't be happier with PKP! I've been coming here for over a year, and I look forward to every class. The instructors are extremely knowledgeable and helpful, and even though they offer small-group classes, I still feel like I get one-on-one attention. Everyone there is really supportive and encouraging, and that makes working out more enjoyable. I've gained more here, both physically and mentally, than I have at any other gym. I won't be leaving any time soon!

I've been with PK&P for over 5 months now and I'm in the best shape of my life. The trainers are incredible and I look forward to being a long time member.
