Pilgrim United Church of Christ

Pilgrim UCC is a very warm, caring, and compassionate congregation. The church not only states an all inclusive congregation -- it lives it! For what's considered a small to mid- size congregation Pilgrim is exciting and very diverse!

Very active in social justice issues in the Durham community, Pilgrim demonstrates it's Christianity through learning, doing, and the loving acceptance of all God's children.

I felt very welcomed here from day one!

My wife and I began attending Pilgrim when we became foster parents to our now adopted children. We both felt important that we find a church home that welcomed us as a same-sex couple and could provide a good spiritual environment for our children. Having grown up in the UCC, I was hopeful that the domination would be a good fit.

This spiritual community is loving, socially active, and rich in local history with a strong base of members who have been active for many years. The congregation is welcoming of newcomers and offer many ways to become connected.

The youth program is by far the best program imaginable. Our daughter has actively participated for a couple of years and as a teenager by a couple of days, our son is looking forward to spending time with others who are curious about spirituality. They have unique events and spend quality time with one another.

Raising two children on our own with extended family far away, Pilgrim UCC has become an integral part of our lives. We are grateful for having found this unique church.
