I've been coming here for the past 5ish years and the majority has usually been a decent experience.

FOOD:
Hector Special ($29.99) - Steak is a hit or miss here. Sometimes it's really good quality but sometimes it's just all fat. Shrimp is good, pretty average, and the sauce is very very creamy with a queso consistency.

Texanas Fajitas ($17.99) - Includes steak, chicken, and shrimp. Also includes fajita vegetables, cheese quesadillas, guacamole, and pico de Gallo. They ask for the option of corn and flour tortillas. Hard to go wrong with anything here, all tasted amazing.

King Molcajete ($30.99) - This is a new menu starting from the summer. Comes out in a volcanic stone pot with fajita vegetables, grilled cactus leaf, grilled chorizo, corn, avocado, and halloumi.

SERVICE/VIBE:
Service is usually good, everyone is for the most part attentive despite the restaurant having so many tables.

This place is pretty loud and it's definitely gotten busier the past couple years so highly recommend making a reservation if you have a big party.

Food, drinks, service... everything's good!

I typically come here for lunch with coworkers whenever I have to go work in the Duluth office. We love it! The salsa is delicious and OMG, the Steak Cantina Bowl is soooo good. The steak is perfectly cooked and seasoned. The veggies were really fresh.
This is my go-to. It's a light dish, but a generous portion (even the lunch size), and very filling.

They do have lunch specials.

Great location near Sugarloaf mall.

Service is good. People are friendly and the food comes out fairly fast.

I visited Pepe's for lunch and was very pleased. The restaurant is clean. The staff members were kind and courteous, and the service was quick. I had salsa, cheese dip and a ground beef burrito. All items were hot, fresh, and tasty. With such an extensive menu, I will definitely return to try more items.

We love Pepe's and come here after hitting up Lifetime for a family workout or when we come to Bass Pro for Christmas Santa's Wonderland event each year. Our son loves their cool large metal statues and they have some absolutely delicious desserts. We always get one or two to go. We usually enjoy splitting entrees so we can try a variety of dishes but there are some combo meals for those who don't wish to share and want a variety. Their tamales are good and the fajita nachos are my favorite while hubby enjoys their enchiladas.

The ambiance is amazing! We were seated right away. Our server Meño was great. He made us tableside Guacamole. The salsa was salty. We had to doctor it up to our liking but it was cool. My shrimp taco was delicious. The plantains were cold. The microwaved them and I no longer wanted them when they came back they were stiff. Could've just made fresh ones. Overall it was ok.

I came here for dinner and the service staff sat me at a table. My waiter came quickly with chips and salsa, and I was able to place my drink order quickly as well. Shortly after my drink came and I was able to order my food which came out very fast as well. The price of the drinks are a little pricey, but the food is priced very well for the portions that you get. I would definitely come back, it is very spacious and I loved the music that was being played.

This place has a great vibe! We came on the weekend so they had live music playing which was very nice. Our food came out super quick and was very HOT and fresh which was a plus. We got margaritas and they were some of the best margaritas I've had in a while. Mine had fresh bits of strawberry in it and they were big and delicious. Our food was great and we will definitely be back.

Our favorite Mexican Restaurant. Service is always fast and super friendly. It's run so efficiently. Today we had the Chicken Enchiladas and Chicken Fajita, but we have tried the burritos and everything is delicious. We haven't tried the desserts but they look amazing! The atmosphere is so comfortable. We love this place!

If you're looking for friendly service, great drinks, amazing live music with an eclectic atmosphere; this is the place to be. Reasonable prices for the amount of food you get. I'd definitely come back. 1-5 rating:

Food: 3 - certain days are probably better.
Drinks: 5 - I would give it more if I could.
Atmosphere: 3 - dinner time is 4
Service: 5 - exceptional.

Food -- 2.5 stars
The food was decent enough -- nothing wrong with it, but nothing spectacular or that would make me want to go back. The guac was very nice (4 stars). It was tableside and super fresh. I did add salt to it because the waiter barely put any -- this was totally fine with me because I'd rather it be under and salted to my liking than over salted. I also got a veggie taco without cheese (to make it vegan). The vegetables inside were okay. The tortilla got soggy very, very quickly. And it was a bit blah with only veggies so I added salsa to it. Some of the people in my group enjoyed their food (although no one was crazy about it) and a couple others didn't like their food at all, and didn't even eat most of it. I also heard from a couple people that it was super oily.

Service -- 4 stars
Our waiter was amazing. We were a very large party and there were several other large groups (we were coming from a large high school graduation close by and so we're several other families). You could tell he was stressed out because it was so busy, but he was very kind, on top of everything we needed, and got every order correct. The tip was automatically added in the check (I assumed due to our party size), but a few of us added more for him because of how good he was.

Ambiance -- 3 stars
Typical Mexican American restaurant decor. Very large space, so it's a good place for large groups. And they do take reservations.

Pepe's Mexican Bar & Grill is located near Discover Mills Mall. Right on the corner of Sugarloft Pkwy and N Brown Rd. I've always ordered take out from here, but decided to dine in this time.

I ordered the shredded chicken quesadilla here and it was delicious. The chips were hot and crisp every time our sever brought us more.
