People's Choice Beef Jerky

Went on a beef jerky tour with People's Choice Beef Jerky and it was so fun. Tried their jerky for the first time! I tried most of their flavors and they're all delicious. They have so many flavors to choose from, you'll find one that you love here. I love the old fashioned line, a thicker cut of jerky, which I love, I just wish the old fashioned line came in teriyaki. My favorite is the Classic Teriyaki Beef Jerky as I'm a sweet beef jerky kind of gal. I also recently tried their seasonal Maple Brown Sugar Beef Jerky and that's probably my second favorite.

I got to see how they prep their beef jerky, how they season it, the whole cooking process and how it all gets packed. They use the freshest ingredients. I also love that their beef is sourced locally in California as well as Washington. When you bite into their beef jerky, you can taste the quality and the seasonings for each flavor so well. Keep in mind, the jerky here is on the drier side, if that is what you prefer then you will love this. They don't use sugar, honey or preservatives in most of their jerky so it's not as tender as other jerky brands. They also use knuckle and lifter cuts which are leaner cuts of beef. I would definitely come back. These would be a perfect gift for family and friends, they have monthly boxes you can subscribe to as well.

They've been around for over 90 years. They are family-owned. It's a family business that has been passed down through four generations. Everything is done in the heart of downtown LA. I was told they opened their storefront recently in the last year. You can make purchases online with shipping or pick up from their storefront. At their storefront, there is metered street parking. Everyone here is so friendly. The inside looks so nice, very modern casual aesthetic, and goes well with all the beef jerky. There was no wait to buy beef jerky when I came on a Wednesday around 1 PM. I think the price is pretty reasonable considering the quantity and quality.

Come along with me on a behind the scenes tour of a beef jerky factory in Los Angeles. This was honestly one of the coolest experiences and I felt like I was smack dab in a How Stuff Works video!

Behind this hidden door is where all the magic happens. The meat is first sliced then placed in a marination machine which holds 1200 lbs in under 30 minutes!

After being meticulously laid out on racks, they're ready to go in these GIANT ovens at 350 degrees.

Packaging, shipping, and distribution all happens in house, and they've got it all down to a science.

Oh my gosh, this stuff is DANGEROUS, you guys. Call me crazy, but I had to take home a bag in every single flavor they had, that's how good it was! They had these special test kitchen flavors like dill pickle, hatch chile, and garlic ginger.

People's Choice Beef Jerky in Downtown LA is a hidden gem worth discovering. While the brand is popular and widely known online for its delicious beef jerky, the new store front provides a unique visiting experience. The store is new despite this family owned business being around for almost a century.

One of the best things about the store is the ability to sample the different flavors of beef jerky. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and they shared a lot of the history of the business with us. My personal favorite here was the teriyaki meat sticks. They are perfectly seasoned and have just the right amount of chewiness.

In addition to the meat sticks, People's Choice Beef Jerky offers a wide variety of beef jerky flavors, including classic beef, hot and spicy, and peppered. You can find unique flavors such as dill pickle or textures like machata (canivore diet friendly). I thought the prices were reasonable and that the store itself is sleek and modern, with really lovely wooden interior.

Very mediocre jerky, ordered six different types and they range from spicy cardboard to plain shoe leather. Not impressed will not order again.

Edit: downgraded my review to one star once I saw the moldy piece.

The best American beef jerky around town - beats any grocery store jerky! I've been ordering from People's Choice Beef Jerky for over 3+ years and have recommended it to all my friends and family. They recently upgraded their packaging for the flaming hot mini sticks (individual wrapped now, thank goodness!). I love how they are constantly working on new flavors, but I'm loyal to the hot/spicy jerky (both regular jerky and the sticks). They do allow free local pick-up; however, the area is a little sketch with street parking. Highly recommended, sometimes they offer email promotional discounts.

I tried their beef jerky shipped to my house but didn't know that they have store front too. It's great to stop by to do actual shopping and have a peek at their factory. Everything is handmade and this is a local family business! The beef jerky was amazing! They have different flavors. The thicker ones on the right of the shelf are my favorite.

What can I say about this place besides what a great find. An ex told me about this company that has been around since 1929. He let me try a few flavors and I was instantly hooked so to find out that they have an actual store that I can frequent to get my fix is a major win! They also have online ordering but who wants to wait to get your orders when you can drive up and purchase it right away?

Ring the doorbell and someone will come and assist you with your items.

So what makes this beef jerky so great you ask? Well the quality. The cuts of beef aren't too thick and aren't too thin. The flavors are fantastic.

My favorite flavors hands down is the cowboy peppered and the sweet chili habanero. Cowboy pepper has a tad bit of sweetness and has a slight peppery taste. Where the sweet chili habanero is sweet with a kick to it.

Staff is always very nice and helpful.

Parking is only available on the street and is metered.

I love beef jersey from this place. it's a little pricey, but it's worth it. Every time I purchased their items, they always had thick and dry jerkey so I emailed them about my experience, and they took care of it so well. they sent me a replacement with a new pack it was way better than the first one I purchased. they sure know how to take care of customers, and I really do appreciate that. I love this place more than ever. will visit soon

The Jerky is great! At a great price! The tasting kitchen stuff is great! Give it a try! Cowboy peppered beef jerky is my favorite at the moment
