Payless Hardware, Rockery & Nursery

After more than a year, more plants have died, unfortunately. I had spent a lot of money on them. I think I'm going to just plant seeds from now on :(

Love this nursery, good reasonable prices vs other nurseries. Great variety of indoor plants and a lot of outdoor plants. Most plants are very healthy, that's always something I pay attention to when I'm at a nursery. I can tell they use manure soil for many outdoor plants as the smell was strong. I'll be back for more, as this is probably one of my favorite nurseries in San Jose

Super cool nursery that is HUGE, tons of selection, varietals that I can't find elsewhere, native plants, some exotic plants (wonderful selection of orchids!), the indoor portion has beyond awesome yard art, seeds, and soil amendments. I could just go on all day. As far as prices, on par with some other nurseries in the area, less expensive than Almaden. Right now their bare roots are in. I can't wait to come back in summer!! If this review seems kind of ramble-y, it's because, yeah I'm that excited to have found this place. I didn't even get around to check out the rockery or hardware store portion of this place. Oh well, an excuse to come back. You don't need to twist my arm!

Other than the fact a guy who works here driving a forklift almost dumped a bunch of rocks on me, and then gave me some major stink eye as I tried desperately to figure a way out of his path without any help from him, my first visit here in decades was pleasant enough. The nursery has a wide variety of plants, and the rockery offers a great selection, too. I probably won't be back though because of the forklift guy. He was way too scary.

Pretty good selection of everything they sell with an easy to access location.
Pros one of the most expansive selections in the area of seeds, soil, plants, trees, rockery, gardening accessories and more. When I know what I need They are one of my first phone calls, when I don't know what I need its one of my first choices to go browse for ideas
Cons service is just normal nothing extraordinary, prices are not the lowest and if they don't have something you get a sorry no we dont have this.

Had never been to this nursery before yesterday , but I was in the area so decided to check it out ! I was not disappointed . A huge variety of both indoor and outdoor plants l/ flowers ! Ferns, succulents , fiddle leaf figs , banana plants , elephant ears ... I literally left with my trunk packed with new plants ! A couple of the employees also helped me out with my cart and helped load my car ! So great customer service . Make sure to check out their inventory inside and in the greenhouse as well for more beautiful houseplants and hanging potted plants ! I will definitely be back . One of my new favorite nurseries for sure !

I love coming here! They get new shipment of houseplants every week. They have all the popular houseplants I wanted such as pathos, baby monster deliciosa, string of hearts, etc. You can tell they take good care of their plants and I appreciate that! I also purchased a couple of pots from here too. Will be coming back here for a long time!

Bought a sack of rocks, 1 inch cobble stone. I brought them home and took 2 out of the sack and tried to use them in my project. They would not work. I put the 2 back in the sack and returned the next day to try and exchange my sack of rocks for another sack of lesser value. "No we don't do refunds. No we don't do exchanges". I can't use these rocks can you at least take them back so they aren't sitting in my driveway forever doing nothing in a sack. "No we don't do refunds. No we don't do exchanges". I'm not looking for anything back from you now, just take the rocks back. I want nothing from you. Keep my $10. "No we don't do refunds. No we don't do exchanges". I rented a sack of rocks that stayed in the sack doing nothing with them for $10.

Yes I dumped my sack of rocks back in the pile they came from on my way out of never returning here again.

Customers like us waiting patiently outside under the hot sun in line to pay while 2 ladies were chatting next to us pretending as if they didn't us or know that people already coming out from the store.

When it's my turn, she asked the man behind us to go inside to pay. I stopped her right away saying that I was the first in line.

While the whole time I was holding the beige receipt / ticket in my hands from the materials / rock supplies department, she said that she "thought" I wanted to go in to shop. Really? Well, you didn't ask me and you didn't bother looking at me holding onto the receipt because you assumed and because you were busy chatting.

Even so, does it matter, I was the NEXT one in line to GO INSIDE. And while you guys were chatting, 3 customers came out from the store already and that means, you could let people in. Such a simple job and yet you could not handle it. SIGH...

Went here the other day To ask questions about products
Lady answered questions and gave us information regarding other products / but I felt as if we were not allowed to browse it seem like every aisle we went down she was there watching us felt very uncomfortable
