Wow, this is one of the best Chicago style deep dish pizzas I've had, only beat by a couple other spots, one actually being in the city of Chicago. The sauce is so zesty, melty gooey cheese with an amazing cheese pull, fresh toppings buried in the sauce and cheese, and a crunchy yet soft buttery crust. I've seen so many Patxi's around the bay area, can't believe I haven't tried it till now. That is one heavy pizza, literally.. carrying the box was like lifting weights... and the aroma in the car after I picked it up, I just wanted to dig in while I was driving.
This location in north SJ is a bit awkward because it's part of an apartment complex, so limited parking out front, but you can drive into the residents' garage for parking available for "retail and visitors".
The restaurant is clean and spacious inside, beautiful but limited patio seating, a bar right next to the register. And service was quick and efficient, I had no problem picking up a pizza paid and ordered under someone else's name.
Patxi's pizza is just too good! If I didn't care about carbs, I would eat here every day :DHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - 1852901047Jul 25, 2021Updated review
We were back in a group of 6 and it was again and awesome fun experience. Top notch service, yummy food and clean outdoor seating.
We ordered a medium deep dish and it was perfect size for us to share and so in love with their garlic bread and buffalo chicken wings :)

Thanks, Chandrika! We appreciate the review and hope to see you soon!
Dec 23, 2020Previous reviewthey have ample retail 2-hour parking right outside the store and also in the building basement next to it for restaurants.
They are conveniently located next to a starbucks and also offer outdoor seating.
Love their pizzas and garlic bread their deep dish pizzas have good reviews and are similar to what i have enjoyed in Chicago but also deep dish is really heavy and filling for me.
I usually go for their "build your pizza" pizza where you can choose your crust type and size and add topics as u like.
Perfect taste and lovely service. Its a good up-class pizza place perfect for dates and office happy hour meet ups.
They have booth seating as well as table/ high tables inside.
Deducting 1 star as its slightly more expensive for A pizza place! Definitely go there when they are offering discounts or for their lunch menu. - May 23, 2021
The negative: it took over 45 minutes to make the pizza!
The positive: This is the first time I had Patxi's pizza and because I love SF Giants and Matt Cain is one of my favorite Giants player so I ordered the Matt Cain of course. The pizza is very good, I am not into the deep dish but it did not disappoint.
I will probably go try the other stuff on their menu if I am not in a hurry LOL.Helpful 10Thanks 0Love this 10Oh no 0Business owner information

We called in and got our order to-go, a 10" Deep Dish Old Chicago Special. It was a 35 minute wait. Order ahead so you're not waiting inside or outside under the sun! The waiter was extremely busy. He also asked us if we were eating inside or picking up an order. We said "picking up an order", and he right away tried to get us seated XD We reminded him later we called in earlier to pick up an order. It's okay, just thought it was funny.
I think 10 inches is good for two people (one BIG eater and one smaller eater). I had 5 slices and my friend ate 1. Guess who the big eater was! I think a normal person would get full after 2 slices (crust included).
Old Chicago Special is a ton of tomato outside, peppered with herbs and spices on top, cheese inside. Tomato flavor was good, it was a bit on the sweet/sour side.
I wouldn't go to this place every week or every month. But after a long hike? A workout that went a little too HAM? I'm calling Patxi's and picking up to eat on the trunk of my car.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 27, 2021
I ordered online through their website and it said that my pizza will be ready in 55 minutes. Since I was driving from Santa Cruz, it was the perfect timing. When I arrived, my pizza was ready for the pick up. I was a disappointed at the cashier, he was super cold (no greeting & thank you). When I asked for condiments, he pointed to the table.
I order 10" Matt Cain - my favorite. The last time I had Patxi was almost 2 years ago. From what I remember, the pizza was very thick so I was a bit disappointed when I found out that my order wasn't as thick as I remember. However, the taste is still the same - delicious tomato sauce & herbs with lots of meat and melted cheese. The crust was good esp. when I drizzled honey on the crusty edge - taste like honey bread. Usually, I could only ate 1 slice but this time, I could finish 2.5 slices! So maybe my theory of it's being less thick was true...
The restaurant is located in an apartment complex. There are street parking along side but I remember there was an underground parking too.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0Business owner information

Sucks the place is closed permanently it seems. Loved their Matt Cain deep dish. Was pretty much identical to the original deep dish at chicagos Lou Malnati's in taste. Only difference was the shape of the sausage. Gonna miss this pizza. Was the only deep dish in the area that legitimately reminded me of the deep dish in Chicago. Didn't know they were closed down for so long already.

The Patxi's meatballs were better and more generous than initially expected at first glance. The tomato sauce and meatballs were flavorful and went nicely with the crisp, baked bread bowl! On the other hand, the Smores dessert pizza looked more scrumptious than tasted. The crust which should have had some resemblance to graham cracker was undercooked and chewy. The roasted caramel apple dessert pizza was first choice, but unfortunately, they were out. I thought service was prompt as they immediately gave notification the Caesar salad and caramel apple pizza were not available when ordered. Location is convenient for me and will try deep dish pizza next time!

My favorite spot for deep dish pizza in South Bay. Ordered the Favorite deep dish and Garlic bread for takeout. It was ready within the time stated on the receipt and delicious after the drive home. There is less traffic in this area these days so the drive was smooth. I'll mention that the parking can be confusing as it's in a residential type area and if there is no street parking you can park in the garage. This is a little inconvenient for a takeout order as you'd have to park in the garage, then take the elevator up to the restaurant to get your order(unless you can find parking in the section streetside). Not a big deal, but I think it's worth noting.
Overall great tasting pizza and will definitely recommend for anyone craving deep dish or good pizza in general.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - John M.Milpitas, CA4289294Sep 2, 2021
My reviews are usually well thought out, done after my experience and that's a wrap. Tonight, Patxi's went above and beyond our expectations so I'll be short and sweet. Wifey and I felt like MVP's.
drop! See my peeps on Zanker. You won't regret it. (Christian was our server/bartender and he didn't disappoint.
Peace and love!

Placed our order online on their website and we were quoted 45-50 minutes. Arrived at the restaurant 50 minutes later, only to be told it wasn't ready.
We waited for 30 more minutes for 2 deep dish pizzas.
A total of 1.5+ hours?
I could tell they were short-staffed at the front because the guy attending us was also the bartender.
It's too bad because I really enjoy their Chicken Marsala Deep Dish pizza, but, their wait times are crazy and service sucks.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information
