Park Tavern

This place was recommended to me while on a business trip. I sat at the bar for happy hour and the bartender was very helpful explaining the menu, seeing as it was my first time there. It was quiet at first, since I was pretty early, but the vibe picked up and was super fun right after 5 PM.
I ordered the Asadero burger, no buns, extra patty. It was SO GOOD. I got it with a side of asparagus since I'm staying away from bread/starchy food. The tomatillo sauce did it for me! Totally recommend it. And as always, with a Johnny Black on the side.

From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, it had a great vibe. Everyone was super nice. Our waiter was very attentive, but not overbearing.
Most importantly, the food here was amazing. We started with the mussels - the flavors were so perfectly balanced! I loved my house salad, but the Caesar was pretty bad. The lettuce seemed like it was a week old, and there wasn't anything about the flavors that gave it a wow factor. Thought of taking off a star for that, but everything else was so perfect....
I ordered the blacked red fish with green beans and beets as my sides. The fish and shrimp were absolutely divine!! I loved every single bite! The green beans were packing a little heat, but in all the right ways. The beets had a cream sauce that balanced them out so perfectly. I was in love with every flavor on my plate, and quite honestly wanted to lick my plate at the end lol
My husband ordered the lamb with asparagus and green beans for his sides, and added on grilled shrimp. I didn't mention it before, but those shrimp were colossal. I'm not sure huge lamb person, but my husband loved it!
We really loved our meal, and look forward to coming back. Maybe next time we'll skip the app, so we can have room for their delicious looking deserts.

My review is based on my single experience only, but I was with a large group of people - most of whom had no issues and enjoyed their food.

Drinks = delicious! I had a Malibu rum mojito that was very tasty. Too much mint though, which is not needed for flavor. (It clogs the straw and makes drinking it difficult. Mint goes a long way, don't use so much.)

I ordered the porchetta with Caesar salad as my starter. The salad was the worst I've ever had. Is it because it's "authentic" with anchovy? I don't know. I've eaten probably 300 Caeser salads before from many different venues - some ultra fancy and some chain fast food like Panera. This one ranks top worst. I did not eat it at all.

My dinner included mashed potatoes, baby glazed carrots, and the pork belly. The potatoes were absolutely delicious. The glazed carrots were not cooked evenly - some were almost raw while some were cooked perfectly. Overall, not an issue and they tasted good.

The porchetta is where it all ended. It was horrible. Inedible. I've attached a photo of random pics from the internet of what porchetta is supposed to look like. And, I've attached a pic of what I was served. Pretty big disconnect. The skin was literally like burnt shoe leather. Good luck chewing it. I assume the goal was to mimic chicharron but it was a HUGE failure. Even the small amount of meat was awful. No flavor and sooooo tough. Someone else at the table tried it and also agreed that it was inedible and horrible.

For fairness, everyone else at my table ordered beef and enjoyed their meal. Except one person who after eating most of their meal found a piece of metal from what we assume was a grill scraper on their plate. WTF. So thankful he wasn't injured!

I clearly would not return to this establishment.

We were here for a work event. They were well organized and food came out hot and on time for a large crowd. The bartenders got a great job making good drinks. Great ambience for an event.

The Park Tavern is a nice and convenient place downtown for a beer and meal. The service was friendly and the patio very nice on a hot summer evening. The food was delicious. I recommend the Elk Tenderloin plate especially for the beans drizzled with Siracha cream sauce.

She was very friendly & attentive. I had salmon, my husband had chicken and we both loved our meals!! Desert was amazing, Churro sundae!!! This place was a very unexpected treat!! Very clean & inviting.

The enviroment is nice, but their mexican pozole is not mexican, and it is not pozole either, I went there to celebrate my birthday and it was a total fiasco. There are other places that bring good quality of food for so much less. Maybe to have conversations and drinks with your friends will be nice, but do not try to eat there, is not worthy.

The food was amazing! Our server Anthony was awesome! Fun chatty and very helpful explaining the menu to my parents. Great atmosphere and outstanding menu!

Average. The Brussels were not good. I took one bite and knew they weren't for me. l and the mash potatoes were just okay. What was worse was that the waiter tried to charge me for the Brussels after I hit one and knew I didn't like them. Robert was great and hospitable.
