I walked in to the liquor and the cashier was staring at me the whole time when I was walking around the liquor, I felt uncomfortable. I honestly wouldn't come here again. Also all the items were overprice. Better to just go to seven eleven 7/11.

Pappy's Market: The Boozy Narnia of Oceanside!
If I were to describe Pappy's Market in one word, it would be 'treasure-trove.' Nestled within Oceanside, this magical place offers a cornucopia of beer, wine, and liquor so extensive, you'd think they had a portal to the beverage dimension in their back room!
Their selection is so all-encompassing that if they don't have what you're looking for, they'll somehow conjure it up like a drink-loving fairy godmother. Pappy's doesn't just stop at the liquor, though. Oh no, they have snacks galore! From nibbles that comfort the soul to unique munchies you never knew existed, Pappy's snack range could rival a vending machine convention.
Pappy's staff treats hospitality like it's an Olympic sport, and they're going for gold every day. Junior, Merrick, Miller, and the gang don't just remember your name and preferences; they remember what you thought of that limited-edition beer three weeks ago. Ivan and I often find ourselves as enthusiastic guinea pigs for their new offerings - an honor akin to being the first to step foot on a newly discovered planet, but tastier.
The cleanliness at Pappy's Market would make even the most obsessive-compulsive germaphobe breathe a sigh of relief. It's as spotless as a mirror in a Windex commercial. Moreover, the Pappy's merch isn't just a haphazard afterthought; it's top-notch quality and would make a great souvenir or gift for any visitors.
Just a stone's throw from the beach and boasting a decently-sized parking lot, Pappy's convenience is only rivalled by its charm. Whenever someone visits, a trip to Pappy's is as mandatory as a tour of the Hollywood sign.
So, hats off to Pappy's Market. This local gem is the Cheers of liquor stores, where everyone knows your name, and they're always glad you came. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor, swing by Pappy's. You might just find your new favorite tipple!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Aug 30, 2022
Pricey, yes but with everything going on in the world, it often doesn't even matter (especially if I need toilet paper!). I love supporting small businesses, and this one is no exception.
While there is surprisingly a fantastic amount of parking, I tend to walk over (and I'm here several times a week, picking up drinks or random items).
This market has a huge selection of stuff- there's local brands as well as stuff from Smart n Final and Costco.
Everyone is always super friendly, and this spot is open late (midnight!). If ever I opt to pay for convenience, this is my number one choice in the area.Helpful 31Thanks 0Love this 30Oh no 0 - Dec 14, 2021
Fron outside, Pappy's Market is a hoot! Old school sign, funky murals, hard not to spot it!
I went in to get some water while on a weekend getaway. Inside, the place is your typical liquor store. Nothing fancy, or unusual, but well stocked with anything you need to grab. Good selection and prices, nice customer service. Solid market, indie store, that's why we picked it to shop at and go!Helpful 17Thanks 0Love this 12Oh no 0 - Jamie H.Calimesa, CA02916Apr 2, 2023
Our go to place every time we get into town, from bait to something we forgot. Just a few blocks from where we stay.

Love this place! We went in needing some water and we're so surprised to find such an amazing, abundant selection of anything you could need! We were craving chocolate chip cookies but never expected to find a healthy gluten free option, and we did! Bonus! The store was so clean and the staff was so friendly! Thank you, Pappy's!

This is a pretty typical liquor store.
They have a good selection and staff always seems friendly and helpful.
This is the kind of place you hit up on your way to the beach for alcohol and snacks.
You'll definitely see a lot of interesting people walk into this store.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 23, 2019
As a warning, this is a pretty Russian River Brewing exclusive post.
Quick backstory: as a resident of Arizona, I am in a constant state of yearning for Pliny the Elder--hi, Russian River, I'm ready for you to distribute to my state!! So every single time I'm anywhere in California, I make it a point to hunt down as much as I can and bring it home.
A yelp search/cross-reference against Russian River's website (this isn't a joke, friends) led me straight to Pappy's Market, which was conveniently located exactly one mile from my hotel. Day 1 of vacation: I hit up Pappy's on my walk back from Oceanside Pier. They have THREE bottles of Pliny in stock. I am elated. I confirm with a very nice employee that there isn't a limit (that's right, NO limit!), and then purchase all of them plus a bonus Blind Pig. They also carried bottles of the STS Pils, but I'm personally not a huge fan of that one.
After a conversation with my sister, a Russian River worshipper as well, she requests that I go back and "buy out all of their Blind Pig" and bring it back to her. I didn't end up doing that, but I did swing back in and buy 5 more piggies. When I came up to the counter to pay, the cashier (different one from my earlier purchases), noted what I was carrying and asked me if I was interested in Pliny; my answer was obviously a resounding yes. He told me that there was another case in the back and he could offer me two more. Hellz. Yeah. After confirming that I did in fact, still want to purchase all 5 Blind Pigs in conjunction with my two additional Plinys, I paid the very reasonable price ($6.50--pretty common from what I've found in Southern CA) and went merrily along on my way.
Pappy's will absolutely be a mandatory stop in the future for beers, anytime I'm in the Oceanside or Carlsbad area. The service, the RRB, and the overall selection was awesome, and the place itself is clean and well organized. I can see why it's a stop for locals and travelers alike.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0
