Overhang Tavern

Not a bad spot for some to-go burgers if you need a quick bite to eat. Especially if you're staying in RRG Cabin Rentals/Cliffview Rentals- it's very close!

Stopped in around 6, unknowing that they close at 7. Guy was already scrubbing the grills and the extra help left for the night. Guy looked shocked that I was in there trying to get a Reuben. He frantically texted the help to no avail (she did eventually show up, much later).

We were in no rush so we enjoyed the swing out front while we waited. The outside has several nice bar top chairs to eat at. Inside also has some space but it's sort of musty in there. Why we opted to-go.

Got back to our cabin and devoured the Reuben... I love a good Reuben and this is probably one of the better ones I've ever had. The house made kraut slaw was so good and it had the perfect amount of thousand island. Most of the time, the corned beef dries out but not here! It sat well between the Swiss and rye! Fries were super thick and had a good Lawrys season salt type seasoning.

The rear has a "bar" with like four liquors and some cans of pop. Not your typical tavern joint. Call ahead, order yourself a Reuben to go and enjoy!

Overhang Tavern is the best place to grab a bite in the Natural Bridge State Park area. It's family owned and operated with some of the best homemade food I've ever had. They have cute and comfortable indoor/outdoor seating, and occasionally host a fish fry and roast during the warmer months (check out their facebook to stay updated). With a wide variety of foods and desserts, they truly have something for everyone. This place is awesome and if you haven't been, you're definitely missing out!

Drove up from the Gorge area on a Wednesday, but they were closed even though their website says they are open on Wednesdays. Seems like a pattern. I would call first to confirm whether or not they are open before making the drive up. We even had the nice people at the zip line place next door call to see if they were running behind. Nope! "Decided not to be open on Wednesdays anymore." I think if you want to be in business, you should be open when your website says you will be open.

I wish I could rate this restaurant, hours online stated that they were open on Sunday and they weren't. We were very disappointed, but found another place that was much cheaper and had really good food.
