This is my first 5review in Hilton Head!
If you can locate One Hot Mama's, you're one of the cool kids. It feels like a college restaurant/bar. Indoor (AC) and outdoor seating.
Lavida was our server and she did not guide us wrong! She was so cool about what's good that we weren't expecting how fantastic the food would be. When she came to check on us, she gave us a look like, "best BBQ west of the Mississippi, am I right? She's right.
The hubs ordered the lunch brisket, which comes with 3 sides. He chose fried okra, mac n cheese (fantastic!), and steamed broccoli (which he also said was amazing). It also had a small piece of cornbread with honey. He called the brisket the best he'd ever had! It fell apart as he forked it. The sauces were delicious too--3 to choose from.
I got the Cobb salad with ranch dressing (came on the side). Fresh, crispy greens with just the right amount of toppings. Smoked ham and turkey, applewood bacon, two deviled eggs, and cheese. So delicious!
We highly recommend a trip to One Hot Mama's!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Bri C.Tucker, GA33324410Apr 6, 2024
Meh. This is a picture of our beef brisket. Every slice was like this. A huge amount of fat in the middle. The smoked fried chicken was good but overall we just thought it was a 2.5.
Editing to add the picture of our leftover brisket after it was in the fridge. Yuck.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

We decided on BBQ and ate at One Hot Mama's BBQ. We ordered their combo platter that included their BBQ ribs, hand pulled pork, and brisket plus coleslaw and baked beans. The BBQ ribs were falling off the bone delicious served with their Perfect Ten BBQ sauce and a nice burnt crust. The hand pulled pork was succulent and very tasty. The brisket was super tender and good. The coleslaw was crisp and very good. The baked beans were a real surprise in how tasty they were.
Service was excellent, attentive and the food came quickly.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 28, 20241 check-in
The food here is Mighty spectacular! Has great taste and the bbq sauce is just the icing on the cake. The Cole slaw wasn't too sweet or tangy and the collards were seasoned nicely. It's a Cool spot surrounded by other restaurants and has a nice outdoor seating area. It's very lively when it's a full house. The service was nice and answered all of our questions and gave us great recommendations. My only ick is the bathroom. The restaurant itself is very nice but the bathroom could use a major update and doesn't fit the rest of the place. I could barely feel comfortable enough to use the bathroom. I'd still come and enjoy some more yummy food and trying new dishes

OHM, OMG, You can't say one with out the other! This place is a happenin' experience! Again been here multiple times & only now sending props their way, Please forgive me Mama!! 2 musts on the menu: Brisket Burnt End Chili & their Cornbread! Being a lover of both items I must say for non-Cincinnati Style Chili this is some of the best around. Nice chunks of burnt brisket ends with 2 large cornbread croutons, not overly spicy but you can add cheese, onions, or jalapenos for a tiny charge, Maybe fifty cents. Not sure I just order & pay for my food! Get a cup or bowl, but leave room for the main courses! The cornbread has some finely sliced jalapenos for a very subtly kick but it is covered on top by honey so the mix of the 2 is just heavenly. I always get a tray for the table, comes with 6 slices. Our server was very nice & made sure the waters were full & our adult beverages never got below half full before offering more! The menu is expansive, not expensive, expansive. My family has decided the next time we go we will get the family platter, Comes with Brisket, Fried Chicken, BBQ Chicken, Pork, maybe some other dead animal flesh. We watched a table of 4 try to put it all away but they didn't stand a chance, I forgot to mention that it comes with 4 sides from their signature sides collection: Collared Greens, Mac-n-Cheese, Baked Beans(Cowboy style), Cornbread, Fries, & a bunch of other items that looked really tasty on the menu but we didn't get. If you just want some rabbit food(Salad) you won't go wrong here. 4 different types & by the way you can add some of the smoked or grilled tastiness from Brisket, Chicken, or Pork. The food is just awesome. They have a fully stocked bar & if it's just some adult beverages you are craving the have a tap room right across the way, maybe 10 to 15 steps from the hostess stand. You can sit outside or inside, They have fans & so many TV's to watch in both places. I have not tried the tap room but maybe next year. Folks if you like Smoked or BBQ meats & a fun atmosphere then stop in to One Hot Mama's(OHM, for short) on the island near Pope Circle. I cannot say enough positive about the food, service, or ambiance. one of a few go to's we make sure we hit when we are in HHI!! Bon Appetite!!

If you come here you HAVE to get the wings! Crispy and juicy and so damn flavorful! I'm seriously drooling just thinking about it. It's also a plus that their sweet tea is refreshing! We also got the brisket and a couple of side items. Don't forget to use their signature sauces! Service was very friendly. Nice and chill atmosphere.

The place was pretty busy for late on a sunday. The serv8ce was great. The host was very nice, and our waitress was very friendly and efficient. BWe started with their "award winning" wings. I had tell grilled and the were cooked very well and had great flavors. The blue cheese dressing served with them was great, with lots of chunks of blue cheese.
We had the pulled pork and the brisket sandwiches. They were served without sauce, a great bun, tangy and creamy coleslaw, and pickles. You need to be confident in your BBQ to serve it without sauce, and their confidence is well-deserved. The brisket was juicy, tender, with a great beef flavor. The pork was also moist with a great flavor.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sep 16, 2023
Smoked Fried Chicken
Baby-Back Ribs
Cornbread
Onion Straws
Smoked Turkey
Collards
Cornbread and Sausage Stuffing
Fried Okra
This sampling of dishes gave me a pretty good perspective on what's going on in the kitchen here. I'd definitely do a do over on everything except maybe the Cornbread / Sausage Stuffing it had great flavor but I didn't care for the texture maybe a few seconds on the flat top would fix that for me.
Our server Cecilia greeted up immediately after we were seated with no wait time and brought over a wealth of local knowledge along with the menus, and provided exceptional service the entire time we dined here. We arrived just before 6:00 PM on a Friday and found One Hot Mama's pretty much empty, there were a few tables outside occupied and very few on the inside and an empty bar so don't let the massive number of cars in the parking lot scare you off this location host a cluster of restaurants that shares a community parking lot.
This is certainly a restaurant I would visit again and again while on Hilton Head Island there are so many things that are so appealing and I look forward to trying many more of them the next time I'm here. The portions are large so bring your appetite it also looks like a great place to grab some of their infamous wings and a few beers...Helpful 40Thanks 8Love this 45Oh no 0 - Fred S.Reading, PA15Apr 21, 2024
Used to be our favorite place on island, but not anymore.
Servers are lazy or incompetent. There was 10 customers when we went in and waited 10 minutes for menus to be thrown at us. Drink order was forgotten and
Incorrect. Just a total lack of
Concern for patrons. No leadership or supervision is the
problem. NEVER AGAIN.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information
