I brought my 3 year old son to see Dr. Ahmid. At age 3 most kids fear doctors visits and my child is no different. However, Dr. Ahmid's bedside manner was superb and very much like our pediatrician knew how to handle a little child.
He offered my son a treat and got down to his level to ease his anxiety. The doctor was kind and sweet, but also very knowledgeable. My son was evaluated and our concern was taken care of. We were in and out of the office promptly.
I found Dr. Ahmid through an on line search, but will be referring him to my pediatrician as a reference for any other parent who needs to bring their child in to see a foot specialist.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Gary D.Reno, NV020Aug 3, 2015Updated review
It all started when I bought a stationary dual action
airdyn exercise bike. Wow, (I thought) I can read, watch
tv, etc. all while getting some great exercise. I was
certain that my doctor would be very pleased when I
go for my annual physical on Mar. 24th. I was so proud
of myself and got up to my goal of 1 hour a day on the
bike. I loved it! Win, Win, Right?
Well, about a week before my physical, I was riding my
bike and had only 5 minutes left on my hour routine.
Well needless to say, I got (brave, i.e., stupid). you know
when runners are running in a competition and they
only have 1 mile to go, they give it all they got. Well,
dummy me thought; only 5 minutes left, give it all you
got. Well, I was almost finished when I heard and felt
that something popped inside my left ankle. I immediat-
ely thought, "Gee, that can't be good."
Well, my left ankle was killing me, but I (dummy) thought
"I have to see my doctor for my physical in a few more
days and I can have it checked out then. I did, and he
immediately sent me to a Foot & Ankle specialist, Dr.
Matt Ahmadi whom my Primary Care Physician of over
30 years Highly Recommended.
After closely examining my ankle, Dr. Ahmadi, the Foot
& Ankle Surgeon did his magic and immediately had me
admitted into Mission Hospital that same day. I spent
hours having lab, x-rays and M.R.I. work done by very
caring professionals. The very next day I again saw
Dr. Ahmadi in his office and he very meticulously went
over my test results with me. He told me that I had
some small to medium tears in several of my tendons
& ligaments in my left ankle. I immediately told Dr.
Ahmadi that, "go figure, I was just trying to do good
and exercize and look what over doing got me." Dr.
Ahmadi told me that I was very lucky that I had not
torn the main tendon in my ankle or I would have
had to have surgery.
Dr. Ahmadi then took a cast of my feet so he could
order me foot orthodics. He then wrapped my ankle
& put me in a foot boot to keep my ankle/foot stable
and told me that I would have to wear the boot for
4 to 6 weeks to give my ankle a chance to heal properly.
He then advised me to follow his instructions as not
to cause further damage to my ankle, which could
also put more pressure on the main tendon which
could cause it to tear and lead to surgery.
Needless to say, Dr. Ahmadi's Professional advice
was spot on. Thanks to Dr. Ahmadi's Professionalism,
Knowledge, & Very Caring, Friendly Demeanor my
ankle has healed wonderfully, & I am a 62 year old man.
There are not enough words in my vocabulary to express
all the great things about Dr. Ahmadi, as well as his
Assistant, Susan.
Also, as far as ordering me foot orthodics, again
Dr. Ahmadi was spot on. I love them! They not only
keep my feet moving straight ahead, with no wabbling;
they make me walk more upright with a much improved
posture.
Thank You again Dr. Ahmadi. Yes, I would highly
recommend Dr. Ahmadi to anyone needing a Foot
& Ankle Specialist.

Both my wife and I went to see Dr. Ahmadi. We spent lots of money on orthodics which proved
no better than over-the-counter products. Dr. Ahmadi charged up front for the orthodics and stated that the insurance would reimburse us directly. They were very evasive after we contacted them several times about the billing and basically ignored us. We got second opinions from other surgeons about Dr. Ahmadi's recommendations for surgical procedures, which he wanted to schedule immediately. All our issues were resolved WITHOUT surgery based on treatment from other doctors. Avoid this office.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Lisa H.Mission Viejo, CA2229May 13, 2014
I wish would have done better research before going to this doctor. Foot surgery with him turned out to be a first rate disaster. My slightly hammered toes ended up crooked and more hammered. And the bonding of joints have left once flexible hammer toes, fused and painful.
To start with, this "doctor" put my pinky with the nail pointing out. I asked about that. He answered, "that's the way toes were supposed to be." I would have loved my pinky toe nail facing up, just like the one on my other foot... just like the ones in the photos in his office.
My big toe is not centered correctly and now has a weird numb area. The outside of the toe angles up, so it twists to the inside. It gets callused due the poor fit in EVERY shoe. He then shortened the second toe (next to big one) for beauty sake. Now it is a short toe with a huge fat spot where the joint was. (Skinny at both ends) It looks odd. The one next to it, now crooks from the middle up, causing the nail to dig into the fat toe.
The one next to the end didn't remain unscathed. Not only does it have a very big permanent arch, there is a twist and the entire toe points out, toward pinky.
I chose him because his claim is, he cares about the beauty of the foot. Don't even think it. I can't wear sandals. I can't even wear closed toes heels now. (Both, I could do before this surgery.) I can wear only flat sneakers now until I can find a better doctor to repair ALL 5 toes on that foot.
Amazing that I went in with straight, matching, all nails facing up, and correctly spaced toes and came out with this disaster. I asked him to use pins but he insisted they would heal properly. I probably should have sued for malpractice due to the effect it has had on walking and pain still. Thank god I didn't have both feet done.
Stich removal was done with no pain relief. As I cringed and cried out, he remarked to my husband that I was unable to handle pain.
I would have posted a photo, but I am too embarrassed of my foot. Honestly, I laugh as I write this, but my foot is seriously "f"-ed up!Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 8Oh no 0Business owner information

After Dr Ahmadi treated me for 3 1/2 months for 2 broken ankles I decided to get a second opinion before any further treatment which he wanted to continue with. Sadly, I am now faced with surgery to fix a badly broken tibia/fibula which he thought would heal without surgery. The bones healed after 10 weeks in a cast.....in the wrong positions.
He wanted to do PRP injections in the right ankle which I had already done in the left ankle. At $1200.00 an injection (not covered by insurance) and requiring 3 injections I am not convinced the left ankle wouldn't have healed on its own just fine.
In the mean time I have discovered that he was way over charging me for the PRP injections!!
Now I am faced with surgery to re-break both tibula/fibula reset with plates and pins. Start the clock again with 3 more months of healing.
I will not look back but rather look forward to now being in great hands of Dr Aminion!
Be warned!!Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Business owner information

Dr. Ahmadi ruined both my feet. Went in for "simple" bunion and hammertoe surgery 1 1/2 years ago. The surgery was a disaster. Came out with deformed toes on my right foot and I still have a bunion. The balls of both feet are so painful with every step I take. Said recovery time would be 4-6 weeks. I was off work for 3 months and the scars on top of my feet hurt so badly for 6 months that I had to put layers of patches over them and could only wear tennis shoes that were a size and a half bigger than what I normally wear. Still can't wear normal shoes without pain on the bottom of my feet. Will never be able to wear sandals or walk barefoot - my balance is still off. Went to 3 different podiatrists a year later for advice and none of them could "fix" what he did. He definately shouldn't be doing surgery.

The receptionist is a very nice person. I recently had foot surgery with Dr Ahmadi. He did nothing to prepare me for the grueling recovery that I have been going through. I don't have a lot of experience in surgery as I am such a healthy person and this seemed like a minor surgery to me, so I was quite surprised that I had to spend days in significant pain without the ability to walk. Finally I was able to walk with the aid of two crutches, though I still needed the wheelchair for any significant distance. Dr. Ahmadi did not give me any hint that the recovery would be so gruelling. Finally, 2 weeks after surgery he told me that it would probably be 3 months and physical therapy to fully recover. The worst part was when my stitches were removed. I had been on antibiotics an had been cleaning the site regularly per his instructions, but my foot was incredibly inflamed, swollen, and red. I asked for topical pain relief. His answer was in a quite haughty tone that he did not have any topical. I was quite surprised at this as he routinely does surgery in his office and it would be humane and expected that he would provide for his patient's comfort. However, he repeated that he simply did not have any and proceeded to remove my sutures in a way that was excruciating. At one point he was pulling on the wrong end of the suture so that the knot was pulling against my swollen skin. My cries of pain finally stopped him so that he realized he was pulling from the wrong end. After all this, he just left in a gruff manner. As it happens, I saw my primary care physician directly after getting the stitches out and I relayed my experience with Dr Ahmadi to her. She was also surprised that Dr Ahmadi did not provide topical pain relief as she could see how inflamed my foot was. I am a nice person that is grateful for the years of sacrifice people have undergone to become doctors but there has got to be better podiatrists than this in the area.
I just researched his license as another reviewer said he had a problem with it. This turns out to be true. Dr Ahmadi's license is on probation. This is easily verified on http://www.mbc.ca.gov/licensee/Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 10Oh no 0May 16, 2013Previous reviewThe receptionist is a very nice person. Recently, I asked specifically for a referral to Dr. Ahmadi notwithstanding that his office is further from my home than many others. I learned last year that he was respectful, responsive, compassionate, forthcoming, and a diligent and adept diagnostician. At that time, I was in the midst of a transfer to a new HMO, so I was unable to continue treatment of a badly fractured foot...and that switch did not go well, I can tell you. So,I gladly returned as his patient. I had a new issue with my other foot that required his intervention. Happily, I look forward to a full recovery under his care. I don't know about you, but I have become increasingly disgusted by the inaccessibility by other doctors who require you to leave messages in the hopes (often in vain) they will in fact get back to you within the 24-48 hours their recordings promise. 48 hours? Really? Not to mention their caveat that it is at their "convenience". That is absurd. That's another reason I prefer Dr. Ahmadi's practice. You are able to get through to his wonderful, charming support staff immediately, and you can be assured that Dr. Ahmadi will be there for you in a timely way. If further follow-up by either Dr. Ahmadi or Susie is required, you can be assured of it. It all boils down to respect for you, your time and your sensibilities. That is golden.
