Where is a good deli?Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sam P.Columbus, OH42162682Jul 1, 2015First to Review
While there are lots of terrific food trucks in town, there are not nearly as many good food CARTS. New American Deli helps to address this gap.
The menu when I stopped by recently at the Pearl Alley Market was limited to just three sandwiches: turkey bahn mi, ham and swiss, and their 21 day reserve corned beef. I had been kind of in the mood for a ruben even before I saw the cart, so it was like a sign from above. Corned beef it was.
And boy was it delicious.
Cut fairly thick, the sandwich had a hearty (but not obnoxious) measure of meat. It was griddled so that the cheese melted and held everything together. I opted for a roll instead of the rye bread on the menu. I'm not sure where they source the bread, but it was excellent with a nice crust and softer interior bite.
The quality of the corned beef was top notch, some of the best I've had recently. I wouldn't hesitate to get it again.
Nor would I hesitate to seek them out elsewhere. According to the operator of the cart, they also have a breakfast menu which they're currently serving on Saturdays at the Clintonville Farmers market. Some of the things he described as on the menu were quite enticing.
All in all? A fantastic new addition to Columbus.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 56413271193Aug 24, 2015
I had the Italian breakfast at the Saturday Clintonville Market location. It was outstanding and unique. I chose mine with aged corned beef since I don't eat pork products. They cure the meats at their commissary. The egg was cooked to my specs. Very very tasty and nicely presented in a bowl. That's a good idea since it could have been messy.
Only negative. I think you need better forks. Your's are flimsy and didn't work well.
I'm a big fan.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Thanks for the feedback Michael. We really appreciate it.
We feel the same way about the forks and will be getting a better option when we run out of the current supply.

Had a yummy breakfast sandwich at the Clintonville Farmers Market. The flavor combo of egg, Canadian bacon, arugula, and a perfectly tangy mustard was excellent. The bun was so good, and not too bready. Got to cart late in morning so they were out of other options, but looking forward to trying out their other offerings. Service was awesome too. But, don't expect your order to be done fast. They cook eggs to order. Expect a little wait. But it will be worth it!

The 5 Spice Pork Belly Bahm Mi is awesome and I love giving this little cart business. Not that he seems to need it but I just think it's genius that he works such magic in such a small space. I will be back to try more.

Delicious breakfast sandwich at Clintonville Farmers Market. I ordered the cooked egg, arugula and roasted turkey. The herb mayo was the perfect addition. Had to wait a few minutes for the sandwich, but it was piping hot and delicious.
My husband also enjoyed the bacon, egg, sweet potato hash. Well seasoned and perfectly cooked.
They have a limited menu, but they have done an excellent job perfecting it. Not too expensive and you get a large serving of food.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I had the Cubano, without the pickled onions. I found out about this cart because he is a vendor in Pearl Market, which I frequent on Tuesdays and Fridays. The sandwich is large and very tasty. Everything is cooked to order, and the service is very good.
