My Taco

Bad service, bad food, and to top it off they forgot to give me two items in my to go order.

Bad service
As I was picking up my order I was barely greeted as the cashier was too busy texting. Then as I was telling her my order she decided that listening to her phone message was more important. It was confirmed when I finishe'd paying and was left standing there clueless as what to do next. It wasn't until the other cashier looked at me and asked if she can help me with something that I realized my cashier was suppose to give me my order that had already been ready.

Two hard shelled potato tacos
The meat in the burritos were dry and the flavor was lacking. Fish tacos were the worse I ever had. It had an old fishy taste and the fish they used was super thin and poorly fried. The asada plate had decent flavor but the meat was really chewy. The tortillas they used for everything tasted like something I could buy from ralphs in the clearance section. The only thing decent were the sopes but even the carnitas were overcooked.

I would give a review of the potato tacos, but they failed to include them in my order. Maybe if my cashier was more attentive then maybe she would have remembered. Such a sad experience because this was a mother's day meal for my family.

I had actually stopped going to My Taco about 2 years ago after my Chile relleno and beef cocido was terrible.

Well Friday, March 1st, 2024, I was craving cocido so I thought I'd give My Taco another chance. I hoped maybe they had a new cook, geez was I WRONG. I waited 20 minutes or more for my order, mind you the place was empty at about 4 pm.
I rushed home to eat it hot, as soon as I transferred some of it to a bowl, added some rice, onion & cilantro. I took a spoonful and as soon as my taste buds had it, my mind said "WTH IS THIS" it tasted like what rusted or dirty water would taste like. I smelled it and it was off.
I asked my granddaughter to taste it and she agreed that it wasn't good, possibly dirty water or fish broth mixed beef bullion. What ever it was, I tossed the bowl out and have the half container to take back to request a refund today.
I will never forget this terrible experience and will definitely not come back to this establishment again, not even to give it a 3rd chance!!!

Maria and the other server really need to learn to listen to customers orders. When I am telling you can I have a cabeza burrito don't repeat back to me a carne asada burrito please. I ordered 1 cabeza monster burrito, a cabeza all meat burrito n a lengua plate, asked her to repeat the order back to me twice n of course I arrive 15 min later n the order was not ready because the server messed up . Instead of a putting a cabeza monster burrito she wrote a California burrito .I waited 10 more min sigh.This has happened multiple times and I try to sympathize w them but it just doesn't make sense .

Did they fire the cook? I ordered a cocido to go. Soon as I opened the container, it smelled like plastic. After tasting it to confirm that it wasn't my upper lip. Confirmed, cocido was definitely not the same. Jeez. Thanks for disappointing me.

Best sopes ever! The service is fast and good. The restaurant is clean and inviting. They fry the carnitas and it is amazing.

Sometimes I really like My Taco and other times it disappoints. This time it was mostly on the mark. The Carne Asada fries are legit, they are cheesy they are meaty and they have a heaping helping of guacamole, but they could you some Pico de Gallo to freshen them up a bit.

My friend really swears by the potato taco and she orders it every time. I need some protein in my tacos so I opted for the shrimp taco and Fish taco. The shrimp taco was good had nice flavoring and wasnt overly cooked into rubberized pellets.

The fish taco left me a bit disappointed it was pretty bland. The cabbage and slaw they put on both tacos is really refreshing and probably what saves it.

Not pictured is a Carnitas Quesadilla which I thorough enjoyed. The greasy cheesy tortilla was paired with tomatoes and lettuce inside the quesadilla which is thoroughly untraditional and unexpected but you know what, I really enjoyed it.
The freshness helped cut through the rich ness of the cheese and carnitas and livened it up a bit.

I would order everything again but skip the fish taco. If you like hot salsa they have it, both the red and the green are pretty picanté. Enjoy!

An intense craving for horchata hit me one night so I decided to check out the closest one and I found this place. Their menu looked good so I went and order a mulita as well. They had soo much variety for meat, I feel like whenever I go to mexican spots they're usually out of lengua. Not here I finally got sum lengua !!! Food was bomb and service was great as well. I got my food to-go but they have a seating area too. It was so cute n colorful!

My favorite taco spot in LA hands down. Feels like home, the service is always great and the food is authentic and delicious.
