You know what? I really like the Moxy line of Bonvoy properties. I was saying that it's a little like a scaled-down and more affordable W, with its trendy dark and slightly sexy vibes. It doesn't try too hard, and I appreciate it's a hotel that has all intentions of being accessible to younger and less flush travelers.
What you can expect: tiny but tidy rooms that verge on utilitarian with an abundance of wall hooks but no closets, beds with drawers. underneath but no dressers, comfortable beds but no kings. It was just the type of lifesaver we needed for a quick stay in town as we passed through during a long road trip. We wanted to check out Chattanooga, but this was not an extended stay.
It checked all the boxes. It reminds me of the type of place I'd typically stay in NYC, where you're not going to be spending much time in the room other than to sleep.
That said, the lobby/bar area is pretty attractive with plenty of areas to sit and hang out. There may not be coffee makers in the rooms, but who really needs a keurig, the weakest coffee, when you can get complimentary drip in the lobby or use one your free drink doubloon for an espresso drink in the cafe?
Unless there's something big going on with the University in town, I'm guessing, the rooms here are very budget-friendly. Good value in droves at the Moxy!Helpful 6Thanks 2Love this 11Oh no 0 - Zachary L.Nashville, TN2210059Dec 2, 2023
Our first time at this location. We had two rooms; when we checked in around 7:30 pm local on 12/1, Kristen, the one at the bar/check-in counter, seemed as if we were a nuisance. Her demeanor was off-putting, and she was not very engaged with us. We did not feel welcomed.
Upon first glance, the rooms were "nice" with decor but not very comfortable. The showers did not have any vents, so it steamed up. The hot/cold dials were switched, and dust was on all items.
Our room faced the rear lot adjacent to the pizza place. This was horrible; the sound of people talking and cars was heard, and the windows seemed not to block anything out. The bed was thin on a board.
We've stayed at hostels with a better setup.
After checking in, we returned to the bar to have drinks and eat. We decided to stay at this location because the website lists the bar as having breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The guys at the bar were very vague about their food service and would not provide a menu, and one even said we don't do food, only drinks, and asked that we walk down the road for food. This was a bait and switch since even the site lists food service.
The morning of our check out, the small coffee shop was filled with eight people waiting for items. Once we got our things, the lids of the cups did not fit over the cups tightly. When sipping, coffee would run out the sides. and they were very, very thin.
At check out, the front desk agent did not seem to care about our stay, not even asking how it was or thanking us. Only the Valet gentleman was kind and concerned.
Overall, while we are lifetime members loyal to the Marriott brand, this was our first Moxy location and a colossal failure. We've decided never to stay at a Moxy again.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 1 - 3388308Mar 12, 2023
This hotel is a in a great location. You can walk to a ton of restaurants and around downtown really.
They have valet but also self parking. Their self parking is really convenient if you don't want to do valet.
The rooms are small but you should expect that going into a Moxy. They have everything you would need. Plus you should be enjoying the city and not camped up in your room. The atmosphere is fun and casual. You check in at the bar just like the other Moxys. This is not a hotel for everyone, so if you don't like bars, small rooms, community irons this brand of hotel may not be your cup of tea.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Dick M.Neenah, WI1532Feb 20, 2024
I think this is maybe a good hotel for students? Or on a budget? The rooms are incredibly small. Very cold aesthetic, cement ceilings, vinyl floors. No iron in the room, which sucks if you're on business or need to dress nice. It's clean. So there's that.

I was reading other recent reviews and Zachary's stay was very similar to mine. I would add that the front desk person, probably the same person Zachary was referring to was not only completely disinterested, but snotty. The valet guys were great though and the only saving grace of my overall mediocre experience. My room was bare minimum... really tiny, no coffee, no closet. Everything seemed cheap, tacky and uncomfortable.

This hotel is cute and fun! We only stayed one night and unfortunately we won't be able to stay again. While the hotel was nice and the pops of color and fun were great, there were a few things that will keep us from coming back.
1st, pets are allowed everywhere, every room, every space. I have allergies and never would have booked knowing that none of the rooms are pet free. My sister in-law selected this hotel so I made the best of it. Our room had a slight lingering odor so I woke up congested and one of the elevators smelled awful from a pet accident.
2nd, the layout of our room with 2 beds was beyond strange. The beds are head to head with one side of each bed against the wall so someone has to climb in over the other person. The person sleeping by the wall had a reading light and spot for a phone, eyeglasses, etc, but the other person did not. There was a round table provided that could have been moved into place and used for a book or water glass, but that wouldn't help the fact that there wasn't a reading light in that spot. I also must mention the location of the TV. There was no spot in this room where you could sit back, relax and watch tv. Neither bed faces the tv so if you are hoping to watch a movie, it's a no go. It was a really strange layout.
I should also note there is a window from the room to the bathroom and if you want to close the blind you have to climb on one of the beds to reach the chain.
On a positive note the Moxy Cocktail was fantastic and the lobby seating areas were great, as was the staff.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 404112002Oct 11, 2022
Great hotel if you have a dog. They have a reasonable pet fee. The moxy is a little bit contemporary, with no ice machines (you can get a bucket at the bar) or refrigerators in the rooms. The rooms are very basic, with minimal furniture. Room cleaning must be requested. Many hooks on the wall, containing a fold out table and chair. The aesthetic was very trendy, dim lighting, games everywhere. There is a decent coffee shop on the first floor. They gym was a bit odd, with a real bike (did not use it much, cannot track distance) and boxing bag. Staff was wonderful!

This hotel is sooooooo cool. It's definitely a millennial vibe. You check in at the bar and you get tokens for a free drink. The main area is full of life size games with plenty of seating. Near the elevator it's more private seating but still with the vibe. At night it definitely turns into a lounge/ bar vibe.
I loved that the elevators were locked with a room key and the back entrance is more private to avoid the night crowd.
The rooms was industrial. The water pressure and aesthetics of the bathroom were perfect. The beds and pillows are firmer than I would have liked.
It's a cool space, but definitely party fun vibes.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Judy M.The Villages, FL19597Oct 7, 2023
Unique Bistro hotel! Very modern! No closets! Pegs the full length of the room wall. Nice bar and very friendly staff!
