1 star because I can't go negative stars. Had a wedding close by not many options available this place is now advertised as OYO Hotel and has ok reviews on Hotels .com. It was not the worst place I stayed at but would never recommend it.

Weird check-in experience in the lobby with a cubicle that had a person on a video chat, probably on the other side of the world. I noticed the room had a bad smell as soon as I walked in, like mildew. Bed was kind of hard, sheets had stains. It looked like they started a renovation on the room, but never finished. Bathroom shower handle has no indication which way was hot or cold and the water was either scalding hot or freezing cold. Towels were too small, and they felt as rough as sandpaper. Not a good place. Stay elsewhere.
Ps- this is an Oyo now, not a Motel 6.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Crystal R.San Francisco, CA02Feb 14, 2023

Today is our first stay here but will not be our last. We have family that lives nearby and as each of our families has grown, it has gotten more complicated (and expensive) to drive between states for short visits.
This Motel is an answer to prayer! Affordable, friendly, clean... Sure, there are a few outdated aspects but if you want to pay an extra $40-60 per night a few doors down to have shiny new countertops for a night, then more space for me at the Value Inn!
It
Appears that they're working on updates a little at a time (good business practice if you ask me) and remain open in the meantime.
I'll take and share more pics tomorrow, but I am very happy with the value we received here :)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Brynn O.Sioux City, IA64153Oct 13, 2018
I am about the least picky person ever but this place is GROSS. There are dead bugs all over the room (literally everywhere, not just the corners) a sticky mess on the bathroom sink, the shower clearly hasn't been cleaned in weeks, our feet are black after a single night walking on these floors (second photo was after washing them right before putting on shoes ), floors and baseboards are covered in dirt and to top it all off there is no AC. I'll stick with Wyndham motels when I need a cheap place to stay from now on. Don't waste your money

Good Morning,
I'm so disgusted and disappointed with Anthony at the St. Helens Oregon location. I reserved my room online and came into office and checked in. I got a receipt showing my card was charged! Then at 5AM Anthony calls and wakes us up because he states payment didn't go through!!!!!! At 5AM! We didn't even get checked in until late night and are exhausted! He literally threw a fit on the phone and forced me down right then to pay AGAIN! He refused to wait to normal hours of check out. I get dressed and go down to be met a with attitude and disdain from him! He was so rude (stating he didn't feel like dealing with me) I called corporate and she could here him speaking to me. He then refused his General Managers number to give to me but calls this person himself to play a victim card. At this point the nice lady on the line was so humiliated by the way I was being treated she told me to ask for a pen to write down the General Managers number, he yelled at me and would not literally give me a pen to use. He slammed the window on me. I'm so embarrassed at this point and grab my new receipt that also shows a zero balance and went back to my room!
I want a refund! I'm humiliated and embarrassed by how I was treated! This employee should NOT BE WORKING with guests!! He has no customer service skills.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Troy C.Springfield, OR03May 6, 2019
I have been staying here for many many years for work. They have cleaned up the rooms and look nice. Unfortunately on Saturday night I had someone try and break into my room and people continued to party and make loud noises all night just outside my room. Lots of drug activity going on during throughout the night. Called and asked for a refund but was denied. Offered a free night next time I stay but I graciously passed. Don't think I will be staying there again.

This hotel is nasty. When I looked at the pictures it looked way nicer. Clearly they just put new paint over all of the issues here. There is no fan in the bathroom. So if you dump everyone smells it. The door lacks a chain or slid latch. Appliances from the 80s. The air unit doesn't work. Gave us a standing fan instead. There was a toilet full of urine and toilet paper upon arrival. If I could give zeros I would. Customer service was highly lacking. Only was given one key AND we reserved for 2 people.

I travel for work in the 7 western states and regularly stay at Motel 6.
The St Helen's property is measurably the worst ever in the entire chain. Dirty floors, no hot water. Not talking simply warm: It was freezing cold! Further, the tub/ shower doesn't drain. Standing in 6" of water while taking a cold shower is unacceptable by any standard. Don't expect the Wi-Fi work consistently either: That's asking just a bit too much.
This place is worst than a hotel third world country. An insult to developing nations. To top it all off, after bringing these issues to the manager his response was, and I quote verbatim, "How's that my f__king problem?" Then went on to suggest that I should stay at the competitor's hotel.
This property is very poorly managed. Do NOT spend a dime here. They need to fire this bum and hire someone with the tiniest of customer service skills. Not even a remote hint of professionalism. A trained chimpanzee could do better.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Nancie D.Fremont, CA0137Oct 26, 2018
They would get minus if I could give it. Stay away from this place at all costs. Where to start... I was not the last person to check in yet I was put in a room that had not been used in a while. There were no amenities, no cups, and no ice bucket. There was a layer of dust on the bed, pillows, and headboard. The bathroom sink was clogged with cigarette butts. Dead and live bugs all over the room. The floor so filthy i doubt that it had ever been mopped. There was no smoke detector. The hair dryer was coming off the wall and during the night the towel rack fell off the wall.
When I asked for a new room i was told that they could not move me. When I pointed out that it was illegal to rent out a room without a smoke alarm i was told that they would issue a credit for the night and I could stay somewhere else. I told them that wasn't possible since I was with other people. I was then told the room was not as bad as I said. To which I replied i have pictures. When the worker saw the room he agreed that I should be moved. The new room wasn't as bad but it was super dirty and in disrepair. There is so much more but I think you get the picture.
The only nice and pleasant person was the maintenance man that came to fix the broken open window.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
