The Original Momiji Sushi Restaurant

Best sushi in Salem... Or even all the way up to Portland. We have never been disappointed.

The restaurant is very small, so large parties are a no go! They have a drive thru which is pretty awesome. The parking lot is fairly small, so you may have to park across the street. We have had to wait about 3 out of 5 times we've been, but every time it has been worth it. We've never had to wait longer than maybe 20 minutes because they're pretty quick in getting out the sushi.

The menu is full of lots of roll options - you've got your basic rolls, semi special rolls, and really special rolls. They've got rolls made with soy paper so you have the option to sub the regular rolls for it. They're very friendly about substitutions! If you ask at the bar, they'll make suggestions or new rolls even for you. The sushi tower and chicken katsu are good... And the crepes are really good too! Salem Roll, Volcano, and so so many more are amazing.

The pricing isn't bad - obviously if you get all special rolls it can get pricey but it's not too bad.

We moved to Wilsonville but still make the drive to get this awesome Sushi! It's definitely worth it!

Well this was my go to spot for some decent sushi at n Salem. I've been coming here for a long time. I must say I'm very disappointed with my last visit. Ever since they stopped giving out those little hard candies when you pay it seems like they've been on a slow decline. This time was just awful. The only positive was for it waitress was doing her job great. The food was horrible. I don't know if it was a bad night or what. The quality has gone down and there prices have gone up. Oh and no more uni. Sorry but if you don't have uni even if it's just on weekends you're not a sushi spot in my eyes. Momijis on silverton I will not be coming back. I'm sad to say that

It just stinks so bad in there. Smells like an old fishing creel. Or when the huge salmon were cleaned when I was younger. I felt bad but gagging happens. Some like it but not me..

This was one of the weirdest experiences I've ever had in regards to sushi.

This place is located in a tiny strip mall and it has a small counter and three tables.

The service itself was friendly enough, but you pay before you receive your food so that's weird. So you order your sushi at a counter which I've never been to a place that does that.

The sushi rolls are large because they're mostly rice. They also use a lot of sauce which covers any of tasting the fish. Usually that tells me a place doesn't have high quality ingredients. While not the worst sushi I've ever eaten it's certainly not the best. And it's definitely not an experience.

I'd consider this fast food sushi. Meh.

Tried to use a coupon at the drive thru. Had to use drive thru because there was no parking. Handed the waitress the coupon for the order and paid. She said it would be 15 minutes. Cars piling up behind me so I drove around the store came back to the window and started waiting again. When she brought the order to us, they had made the wrong item, must not have looked at the coupon. I asked if they would take two dollars off and I would just take the wrong item. Another lady came to the window manager maybe, and said she couldn't do that. I told her I didn't wanna drive around the building again there's no place to park that I would just wait there. She said I was being a dick and didn't want my business to leave and not come back. I told her to give me my money back, she did, and I left.

I love this spot. It's nostalgic, delicious, and every server I've ever encountered is beyond friendly and accommodating. The sushi is always so good. Favorite rolls: miso sexy, sweet firecracker, and Salem.

Ate the food too fast to take pictures but the food was delicious! The Double Sexy roll was everyone's favorite but I substituted the tempura shrimp for tempura salmon! The crab puffs and seaweed salad was delicious as well!

Food was tasty. No service, order at counter and wait for them to prepare. Go grab your food. Sit at tables, kinda of like cafeteria style, very causal and not fancy at all. Good food. Reasonably priced.

My experience at Momiji exceeded my expectations. The cuts of fish were thick, rice around the rolls were the perfect amount, and service was fast and friendly.

I ordered a spicy tuna roll, spicy escolar roll, escolar nigiri, ikura nigiri, and salmon nigiri. The spicy tuna roll was less spicy than most places I've been to but it was still delicious. I was a bit disappointed that the spicy escolar roll was not spicy at all, but it was also still good.

Overall, I was very satisfied with momiji and will be coming back!
