I admit that I am a fabriholic...unfortunately you should pass on this shop. The inventory is very dated and no one asked if I needed assistance.

These ladies were wonderful to work with. They guided me to solutions to my problems.
Most of all, the budget was very fair. MH

I picked out a fabric that would work well for me reversed- had a discussion with the sales rep regarding my cushions upholstered navy side up. I was told it would be three to four weeks turn around time, which seemed a little excessive, but I went with it. On week four, no word. On week five, I called to check. I was called by the wrong name, which made me guess he was not even looking at the right order. I tried to clarify but was rushed off phone. Following week I called again and stated that if my cushions were not done, I would be there the next day to pick them up as is and wanted a full refund. The next day they were magically ready- but done incorrectly. They were sewn white side up, not navy. Unfortunately I sent my husband to pick it up (obviously he didn't know anything about it) and when he got them home, I was speechless. So far my two calls have not been returned so I don't know if they have any intention of making this right or not.
I will be opening a dispute with my credit card company.

Walked in on Saturday with my sister because it's right by my house and I've always been curious to go inside. She needed some fabric to recover some dining room chairs. We were greeted by an employee right away (Janice). We explained that we wanted something inexpensive because my nephew is special needs and is hard on the chair covering on his dining room chair. You'd almost expect that someone wouldn't be in a hurry to help you with a bargain; but Janice was exactly the opposite. She helped us find what we needed and was an absolute joy to work with. She went above and beyond. Will be back again for any fabric needs!!

No acknowledgment once in store. No hello upon entering. I've purchased from this store on numerous occasions. Typing this review as I sit in my truck.

There are some decent fabrics here but that doesn't matter as the customer service was nonexistent both times that we visited in the past month. When I entered the shop today for a second try, there appeared to be no employees in the store. After perusing the fabrics for awhile, I noticed there was a woman sitting at a desk with her face buried in her cell phone.
When I asked a question regarding upholstery time, she barely looked up & was far from pleasant.
There are many other fabric stores in Raleigh with better choices & far superior customer service. Head south on Glenwood to Printer's Alley (off of Duraleigh Rd), go to D Interiors or Capital Fabrics on Yonkers (where fabrics are all about $8/yd) or try Mill Village Outlet. Skip Midas...there is no gold touch there!!

Customer Service is non-existent at this location. Moments after placing an order for fabric (which I regretted), I wanted to cancel the order to take more time to decide. The employee said it was too late. After an order is placed it is impossible to cancel. While this may or may not be true, she did not try to make things right, showed no empathy or even care. After expressing my opinion about not being able to cancel the order and her lack of soft-skills (people skills), she rebutted by insulting me as a customer. I walked out during her reply. I don't even want to go back to pick up the fabric!

My suggestion is to look at the fabric in their catalogs and order online. Not only will it be less expensive, but you will be avoiding a negative experience dealing with this particular employee.

This store has been in Raleigh for years. I recently compared their prices on ordering fabric from their sample book to another stores prices and Midas beat their price by quite a bit. Their customer service is great.

Midas Fabric & Blinds did beautiful work reupholstering my outdoor furniture. Took less time than anticipated and contacted me with any questions during process.

Being new to this area and needing to have a chair and ottoman reupholstered, we had passed this store several times and decided to stop in for info. We should have kept going. The workmanship on our two pieces was shoddy at best. We brought back the two loose cushions because they were not sewn properly and you could see the stitching. We were told two weeks for pick up and two weeks to get it back! After waiting a long time for this job and having it done improperly, if this was my business I would have called the upholster to come get it and fix the imperfections immediately. Lots if $$$$ for a bad job. One star for fabric inventory only. Zero stars for sales person.
