For summer we're offering our 60 day challenge, ACT prep camp, TRACK skills camp and many more. Math Corner is a locally owned and operated tutoring center that was designed specifically to meet the needs of students in our area. We're not a franchise with strict rigid rules, so we can tailor and adapt as students and standards change. We offer one on one and small group tutoring from third grade through AP Calculus. We have unrivaled expertise in high school subjects (Geometry, Algebra II and above) and provide supplemental instruction for many students in the community including a Special Instruction for Arbor View Honors courses.

All we are asking for is our 50 dollars deposit back, just because we never replied back to you doesn't give you the right to decide to forfeit our money. That is all this complaint is about, your staff are excellent and do a great job teaching our daughter. It's 50 dollars that you never earned. Doesn't make good business sense to keep the deposit when you were the one that changed the times. And as not being a named customer, do you need everyone's name from the family..I pay the tutor bills too.

Update: Again, I stated in the original and follow up emails the deposit (Amanda's) was put in forfeit status due to non-response (for five weeks, both emails and phone). I requested a meeting (or even call) to get the full story and close the matter which either of you (mostly Amanda as she's the named parent) seem to have no interest in doing despite multiple attempts. I don't believe it's an unreasonable request given that we made many attempts in multiple formats to reach Amanda and give her the schedule you/she had in December and made the deposit to keep in January. After reaching out to you about our staff's unexpected scheduling issue, we even made plans to rearranged other appointments to ensure we kept our commitment to have the same time available at the beginning of January to no avail. As I've stated in every response, your money wasn't stolen/taken or anything you've claimed. If you'd like to resolve the issue please make a time to resolve in person and it will be settled.
Original response: This a duplicate review, this person has not directly ever been a named client of Math Corner, here is our response to the original review from the named parent:
"This is a misleading/borderline dishonest review. Every year in December we offer parents the opportunity to pay a $50 deposit to be credited for January's bill to avoid having to worry about our opt-in for January (we don't have contracts so each month is opt-in) over the holiday break which she chose to do. There was an availability issue with her current schedule due to a tutor scheduling change for which we reached out immediately (still in December) asking how we could make it work for them with NO response. After the break, we reached out to Amanda by phone with still no response to tell her we'd fixed the issue and she could keep her normal schedule. Yesterday (January 23rd) over one month after we made initial contact she requests a refund of the deposit (which was to be used on January services), so I informed her that I had moved it to forfeit status since it seemed clear that they were not intending to continue in January when the credit was to be used (3 of 4 weeks had passed). I offered to have an in person meeting to discuss further and she refused. I offered her to move her credit from forfeited back to a credit to be used in this month or any other (offer still stands). I'm not sure what else we could do in this situation... We have an outstanding reputation over the past five years and will continue to offer the best service we possibly can."Jan 24, 2020Previous reviewMath corner was very conveniently located for us. The math tutor we had was a great help. However the management was not very helpful at all. We were informed that we could no longer have the regular time slot we had. They told us 3 weeks into the month, and we had already left a deposit for the month in advance. They decided to forfeit our deposit because we decided not to continue with the tutor, no other time would work for us. Forfeiting our deposit was not in our contract, because we didn't have a contract, they just decided to withhold it.
Good place but bad managment making decisions. - Anissa G.Centennial, Las Vegas, NV0118May 3, 2018
My son has been attending Math Corner for nearly 4 years. We enrolled him when he started struggling with math in 5th grade. His math grade went from a D to an A in one semester. We were so happy with his progress that we have continued to keep him enrolled. We also enrolled our daughter when she started middle school, as she was nervous about middle school math. She has been able to maintain good grades in her math class and I feel this is in large part due to her regular attendance in Math Corner.

The owner has an issue with a refund on deposit made to hold a time slot that was no longer available three weeks after the deposit was made. He says I waited too long to ask for my money back and therefore it was forfeited. Unfortunately we won't be going back or recommending this business based on the principle that services were not given for monies paid. And mind you it was only $50, not a life changing decision on the owners part. He even suggested I come talk to him in person aboout why it was so important that he keeps our deposit for a timeslot that was no longer available. Honestly, when a busIness changes a policy out of greed it makes no sense.

Highly recommending math corner. My 2nd grader enjoyed it so much. Ms. Sabrina is a great tutor. Will surely come back for the fall.

Math Corner is an amazing addition to our community!!
My daughter is in High School. She kept complaining about her teachers in Math. She was struggling and we had already tried Kumon and Mathnasiam, both of which were of little to no help. I read an article about the newly opened Math Corner. They are very different, as most of their sessions are one on one tutoring. They customize the program for each child's needs. My daughter responded so well to this method of tutoring !!! She started getting A's on every Quiz and Test! I highly recommend Math Corner! It has made a huge difference.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - C M.Las Vegas, NV1815Aug 13, 2016
My son was taking algebra II in summer school and was having a hard time. Teacher has to move at such a fast pace that it's hard to catch on. Math corner was amazing !! Scheduled tutoring everyday and really helped my son understand and get it. He said he really enjoyed Math corner.

Thank you so much! The tutoring my daughter received was very helpful, providing clarification and supplemental reinforcement to the concepts introduced in the classroom.
