Needed an emergency response for a/c malfunction. Mast and their tech Ian, provided a quick and competent response. Great communication as well!

Mast
We never heard of Mast before we started our search for a company to install HVAC in our home. We built our home 24 years ago (a cabin) so everything in the house is already finished which made their job even harder. We looked at four companies, Mast was the most responsive and professional. Mast also was very competitive on price. Kelly was he representative that returned our call. He came out within a day or two, evaluated our job and submitted their proposal. It was the most detailed and easy to understand of all the proposals we received.
Kelly also coached me through purchase decisions. He made sure we were buying the right equipment vs. the equipment they would make more money on... Example: I was willing to put in a 3-ton air conditioner. He educated me on why that was not the best decision and we put in a 2-ton. He could have easily sold me a three ton for more money. I really appreciated his honesty. Kelly was also very responsive every time I called for any reason.
The crew... Jorge was the foreman. He did a great job, knew his stuff and had two helpers that worked very hard. One day Jorge was not on site. He had to visit another job. His two helpers worked very hard all day, but after they left, I looked at the work and noticed some things that I felt were just not right (I'm not an expert but I do have some building experience). I felt that when Jorge returned the next day, I'd have to ask him to do a couple things over. Turns out I didn't have to say a word. Jorge noticed the issue right away and started working on it/fixing it before I ever mentioned to him. I really appreciated the pride he took in his work.
All in all, working with Mast was a great experience. Honest, dedicated, hard-working and the list goes on. Based on my experience I would highly recommend them if you need services they provide.

We were having issues with an old Fujitsu system. We spoke with Jon and bought a new system as oppossed to switching over to forced air which would be costly and require lots of work. Rogelio and Austin were very professional and obviously extremely kniwledgeable.
They left the house ckeaner than it was prior to work done. Rogelio answered all questions we had. The services provided truly showed that Mast deserves the Elite Ranking given on the Fujitsu General Resource Center site. We highly recommend Mast Heating snd Cooling!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Roger J.Ada, MI01Mar 21, 2018
The team at Mast Heating & Cooling came to my house to repair my boiler, which heats my home, as well as provides hot water. The boiler, a well known system "Weil McLain". The service tech arrived at my home on a Friday at 4:45, repaired the ignitor switch, and stated that it was now fixed and functioning. He did mention that another part, the "blower motor", would need to be replaced at some point. He stated that he would look for the "blower motor" part and contact me on Monday. When I arrived home at 6:30 p.m., I still was without heat and hot water. They came the next morning, Saturday, and the new service tech claimed that the first tech told me that the blower motor was not working. This is simply not true. If that was the case, why did he replace the ignitor switch? He also stated that the blower motor was no longer available and that Weil McLain was not a company that is strong in the boiler market. This is simply not true. I received a call Saturday following the tech's departure and it was from the expert at Mast Heating & Cooling who would provide a quote for a new boiler, since mine is not repairable. Keep in mind that this boiler is only 15 years old. Boilers last for 40 years! He provided me a quote for the new boiler since mine was not repairable. The quote was for $14,000. Yes, you read it right. He encouraged me to sign the quote agreement and, if so, they could install the new boiler on Monday. He also stated that the blower motor was not longer available. I had another company come over on the same day to provide a quote for a new boiler. He stated that he would not give me a quote, as my boiler is in great working condition. He promised to contact me on Monday to confirm the cost of the part. I was curious, so on Monday I did an indepth search on the internet and found the blower motor for $159.00 with free shipping. My good friend installed the motor, which took 20 minutes. Due to my research in finding the OEM motor from Weil McLain, I saved $13,841.00. The crooks at Mast attempted to catch me in a desperate situation and claim that I NEED a brand new boiler. They lied to me. How would they know that this blower motor was no longer manufactured when he left my house at 5:30-5:45 on a Friday or even Saturday morning? I would never use this company for anything again in my lifetime. I used Mast for a new furnace this summer, as my coil and pan from the air condensation was leaking water in the base of my furnace. I was worried about water getting to my basement hardwood floors. They told me, similar to the story I have just shared, that the coil and pan were no longer manufactured and that I need a new furnace. I did not research it at that time, as there really is not a part number for these items. I simply trusted them at the time. If you fail to do your research and trust companies like Mast, you will be terribly mislead and it will cost you thousands of dollars.
Save yourself the money and find a company that you can trust today and in the future.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Travis B.Chicago, IL07Jul 6, 2020
Responded quickly to my call over the holiday weekend when our ac was not working properly. Everything was running properly in less than 24 hours. Friendly and knowledgeable technician.

My service has been hit and miss. I have had my furnace and AC serviced a few times in 4 years. Twice they had to come back because something wasn't working right after they serviced it. One of the times it was because they installed a pvc pipe right in front of the furnace filter. I couldn't replace the filter, ever.
The latest event, I saw that they are listed as a participant with DTE Energy for a furnace tune-up rebate program. I had them out and did the service. Told the tech I was doing the rebate in which he gave me the tune-up check list and said it was all I needed for the rebate. The next day I found out they were the ones that had to submit the rebate. I called and they said they don't participate in the tune-up program, only new furnace program. Even thought they are listed on the site and the tech didn't say anything when I told him about the rebate.
All they did was say sorry, no attempt to make it right.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tom L.Alto, MI1128Jun 20, 2016First to Review
When my AC went out on my boat a boat neighbor referred me to Mast. He said he had used them and they did a good job. I called them up and made an appointment. A very nice young gentleman by the name of Ryan met me on my boat and was right on time. He assed the problem as a control panel. Said he could order the part and possibly get it in within a day. When he asked me if I wanted to overnight if they have it in stock I said heck yes, as we were coming into the hottest weekend of the year so far. When Ryan came out it was a Thursday. They ordered the part and it came in Friday. (thank you Chris). Ryan came back out on Friday and installed the new Control Panel. It was blowing cold air but still not real cold. Ryan noticed I was low on refrigerant and within 10 minutes we had really cold air. I could not be happier with the timely quick service that I received from this company. Used the air-conditioner most of the weekend and it worked great.

I had an install of both a furnace and a/c unit as my house didn't have a/c and the furnace was 32 years old. I got a couple bids from different companies and Mast wasn't trying to sell me anything. Jeremy started by coming out and scoping out my house. He was quiet for the most part, but asked questions that definitely put me at ease that he knew what he was looking at (i.e. how many vents I had because of the size duct work I had near the furnace). He said he would have an estimate to me shortly which turned out to be the next business day. After doing my research on what he recommended I asked him why he didn't quote a particular air conditioning unit. His answer was simple yet shocking, "Where you're located and the type of house you have - you don't need it." He showed he was more interested in me getting the right fit vs more profit. Then there were the installers and electrician that came in. Efficient, professional, laid back, easy to work with just begins to describe them. After they were done, I didn't notice any debris left behind. My furnace room was clean, my yard was clean around the a/c unit and they left with a handshake and smile. They weren't the most expensive, they gave me several options and they weren't the most or least expensive. They definitely were a perfect fit for me.
