This locally-owned neighborhood bar and restaurant is located in a converted older home on Main Street in the historic downtown area of La Grange. Train tracks run down the middle of Main Street and while we watched a train through the window while waiting on our meal.
In addition to a bar area, there are multiple rooms with seating. The ambiance is cozy and nostalgic, and it feels as though you are sharing a drink and meal in someone's home. There is also an outdoor patio with seating.
The menu has a variety of options, mostly higher-end bar-type dishes. I had the cheeseburger salad and it was huge and delicious. Our table shared appetizers (stuffed mushrooms and goat-cheese/artichoke dip with chips) and they were both great too, especially the goat-cheese/artichoke dip! This will definitely be where I get a meal when I visit La Grange.
Parking is available in a lot behind the restaurant and street side in the walkable neighborhood.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Stephanie G.La Grange, KY139811Mar 16, 2024
We hit this spot up once a week. The thin house made specialty baked pizzas are absolutely amazing and unique. When Scott is behind the bar he never misses and always offers the best service. I almost don't want to write a review about this little gem as the word must be getting out since it's gotten crowded. During the summer they have a nice outside seating area beautifully lit with string lights and you can watch trains go by on nostalgic Main Street.

Bartender was super friendly and we loved the atmosphere. It is our new favorite bar when we come to Lagrange. Hope the next time to try the food.

This place is great. It's a corner bar/ dive bar feel with great food.
We started with the stuffed mushrooms They were good but not slap your momma good. Then we had a club sandwich, a cheeseburger and the brisket and Swiss sandwich. All of them were good. The burger was great! Probably one of the best burgers I've eaten out in a year or more. I definitely recommend it.
Service was good. Not super fast or annoyingly slow. Our server Chris was young and seemed new, but he was attentive. He was wearing a muscle shirt which was odd at first but he pulled it off and he was good looking so we'll call that a plus.
We were too hungry to remember to take pictures of the food before we ate it. But it looked as good as it tasted.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Morgan P.University Heights, OH528865Sep 19, 2023Updated review
We went back a year later and still enjoyed it! The burgers are only cooked medium well or well, so don't expect anything different. This year, we were fortunate enough to stay at an Airbnb right across the train tracks, so we had a very short drive home.

We went with a group of 12, we were traveling from out of state. They were extremely accommodating for our party size, willing to list off every kind of beer available three or four times (when we didn't pay attention the first two times), and we're kind enough to split up all of our checks. I'm sure the next time we are in town we will have this as one of our dinner options.

If y'all want some soggy nasty pizza, visit Lagrange's Main Street Bourbon And Ale House. We had to send our RAW pizzas back, the OWNER put them back in the oven and sent them back to us. The video is AFTER they were put back in the oven. I couldn't eat my pizza because it was so soggy. Spoke to the OWNER about this and he said that's just the way it is. Charged us full price and said we were entitled to our opinion. We've been to this establishment probably 100 times. We have never asked for a dime to be taken off our bill. We will NEVER return.

Their food is unique to them, love the flavors. The set up of their restaurant is also really unique. I love that you always have privacy in whatever area you choose to sit.

We've been wanting to try Main Street Bourbon and Ale for a while but the hours just never seemed to work but, we finally made it in. Entering thru the back door you pass the bar area which leads to a couple different seating rooms. The atmosphere is that of a neighborhood pub which is very endearing and inviting. Our waitress came quickly to get our drinks and offered the tap list which was scratched down on a check ticket. Unfortunately there wasn't a bourbon list or menu offered, which I expected given the name. None the less I ordered an old fashion. The well bourbon was Old Barton but I changed to Woodford. I'd rate it slightly below average but I got a second so it must have been ok enough. We also ordered the pretzel bites and beer cheese. The pretzels were more like mini biscuits coming in flat and round and the cheese was very thin the consistency of milk. Not much beer or pretzel flavor. The kids liked them nonetheless. Dinner came quickly and was in line with expectations. The burger was almost like meatloaf in consistency, with every bite the patty crumbled in my mouth. The flavor was good only wish it was a little more juicy. The tots were on point and I was glad to have them as a side. Overall not a bad experience with decent food and good service. Stop at the stop sign out front and come into Main Street Bourbon and Ale house.

This is a locally owned restaurant that offers American style food. The menu has a decently broad selection. I'm gluten free, so on occasion I'll indulge in the Orchard Pizza when they have a GF crust on hand. The Burger Salad is also tasty.
This place is incredibly laid back, which is perfect if you're just wanting to hang out with friends while grabbing a bite to eat. The Grateful Dead drink is a must have, but only if Dave is there. His version is THE BEST.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Cindy B.Kings Mountain, NC36Apr 19, 2023
Server (Jennifer) was great. I highly suggest the loaded wedges as an appetizer! An added bonus: it's right on the railroad track!
