We stopped in on our way to Washington DC. The location is great. What a cute town! The staff was very welcoming and accommodating. The food was good, prices reasonable. Our waiter was very attentive and was always checking in to make sure we had what we needed. My husband and I both had a burger - very good as were the fries. They served us complimentary muffins and champagne as a part of their brunch. It was a very nice local experience.

Parking is plentiful around this spot and the view is nice in the day time and at night. We had reservations and dined on the patio in wonderland, which was pretty awesome! They hung lights and decorated it very festively! Not to mention the selfie wall swan!
Corrie was one of the sweetest servers. I wish she could have eaten more of the foods to make more recommendations, but that didn't affect her sweetness. We ordered drinks and starters and then go onto the meal. The Brussel sprouts were very much drenched in oil and spices. And the French onion soup was too salty to finish, but familiar. It's the first time I saw a Monte Cristi deep fried. The MacNCheese dish was too much of a weird cheese on top of fried chicken with interestingly flavored pasta. The holiday special Turkey Dinner was lacking items and too salty. And the Big Island Chicken was also quite salty with an overall blah in textures. The desserts were also alright. Well, the pumpkin pie was a little too gelatinous and the bourbon soaked little cake was more mouse than cake but delicious.
There is a clean restroom on the deck but more inside. The space and tables were clean and everyone was in a festive mood, which was warm and welcoming.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mar 29, 2024
Overall, Pretty mid. And not even in my top three for Grace.
My family went to HDG for a night out tonight and when Oakley's had a 30 min wait, we decided to try something new with MacGregor's.
The Service was very slow and inattentive and food was meh. We waited 10+ mins just to get our drink order. Once our food arrived it was pretty disappointing. My wife ordered the grilled salmon salad, and it came with maybe 3 oz of salmon. The smallest, saddest piece of meat. My fish and chips were ok. Honestly my kids pizza looked most appetizing.
the best part of the evening was the live music, which we really enjoyed before leaving.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Caroline S.Westfield, MA11445Mar 18, 2024
*Update 3/18/24 - my response to their response to my Google review
The response you gave is pathetic. Instead of apologizing you say "these things happen"???!? No, these things do not happen at good restaurants with attentive staff aware of their surroundings!!!! I will now post this anywhere I possibly can... pathetic response!
This place is horrible! We stopped in for lunch on St Patrick's Day. There weren't a lot of people in the dining area or bar so we decided it would be a good place, nice atmosphere. They sat us a few tables away from the entrance door near the hostess and where the servers stand. We waited at least a half hour as we watched the server in that area go to other tables, new tables, we watched the hostess that sat us walk by us several times too. My back was to the server hang out spot so I didn't notice from my view but my husband said there were at least 4 servers just standing there doing absolutely nothing while we continued to wait. We got up to walk out and I said to the server and hostess "do you guys not see us"? They just had confused looks on their faces and let us continue to walk out. We went to celebrate my birthday yesterday which is a special event in our lives and this experience ruined our day in Havre de Grace. Management....train your employees to pay attention to their surroundings and bot just their own tables! You'll continue to lose customers fast if you continue this way. Times are tough for a lot of people and eating out is an added expense that should be perfect from start to finish. We will never be back and we will also make sure our friends and family don't go there to be treated this way either.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Donna R.San Francisco, CA05Apr 17, 2024
The crab cake platter was wonderful. We sat outside on the patio and the view was beautiful. Our server was very attentive and very sweet. It was my first time at MacGregor's and I'll definitely be going back.

This place is very hit or miss. Every time I order for lunch my order is wrong and missing items. When I order dinner they do a great job. I assume the night cooks are the best of the crew and I will only eat here after 5PM. Food is great when it's right.

Went here for Easter Brunch. The location is great and there is plenty of parking either in the lot or on the street. Portions were large. Part of the Easter Breakfast was entree, fruit cup (very small) and two glasses of Champagne. We also had a cocktail. The service was poor. We never received the included bubbly. We made a couple of requests for water before we each received a plastic cup. One of four party did not have a napkin or knife & fork. After asking a couple of times we finally got up on our own and took one off another table. Overall the food was mediocre. My best suggestion would be for the waitress to write things down so the customers requests are not neglected. I don't think I will be returning unless it is to just have some drinks in the bar area.

We came here on a Saturday night for seafare. I ordered a cocktail but it didn't show up and had to remind the server about it while eating my entree. My cocktail had grapefruit overtones and was definitely not on the sweeter side as described. We had chicken wings and MD crab dip, which was the highlight of the meal. The wings were plain and had a nice roasted flavor. The MD crab dip had nice healthy chunks with a creamy texture. I tried the stuffed flounder because it was labeled a customer favorite. It was piping hot and extremely salty, so salty I could not eat it and the crab imperial inside was comparatively bland as a result. The mixed vegetables was the best thing on my dish as the mashed potatoes was barely lukewarm. I got a chance to try the lava cake but it was more of a regular fluffy piece of chocolate cake with a chocolate syrup filling. It tasted okay, just not a traditional lava cake.

McGregor's Restaurant and Tavern hosted our family for an incredibly memorable Wedding Anniversary celebration. The upstairs event room was the perfect romantic setting. Stephanie and her team worked hard to tailor every detail to suit our desires for the evening. Appetizers were superb and feedback on their new menu was enthusiastic. Highly recommend.

I'm thrilled to give MacGregor's in Havre de Grace a glowing 5-star review! The fantastic atmosphere, highlighted by the spacious outdoor deck, created the perfect dining setting. The Stuffed Mahi and Bang Bang Brussels were absolutely outstanding, bursting with flavor. The service was impeccably on point, enhancing the overall experience. MacGregor's is undeniably a great place to enjoy a wonderful meal. I can't wait to return and savor their delicious offerings again!
