Looking for a stylist however I am not sure if this place is a hair salon or a jewelry shop? It would be very helpful to see pictures of styles (e.g., haircut, color service, etc).

Had a good time for my cut today! The stylists follow strict sanitation and the shop was impeccably clean! Ty was my stylist and worked hard the entire time to make sure my style was the way I wanted it to be. The oil treatment and cut with style were exactly what I was looking for. I love growing out my long hair and she did nice blended layers while skimming off all my split ends. Only thing I noticed was that the angle of the wash basins is a little too angled for my neck length but everything else was super comfortable. I also love that the price is discussed upfront. I don't do hair so I'm happy paying what people charge, but I love that I knew what I would pay. Would be happy to come back!

I really wanted to love this salon, however that was not the case. I will say that the owner was kind and tried her best to fix the situation, but ultimately I will not return for any hair services.

I went in for a haircut, at the beginning we did a consultation where I told the stylist that I wanted three inches off, long layers, and face framing. When asked how I wanted it styled I asked for a nice blowout. When I called I was told it was starting at $55, and the stylist said she charges $75. I thought that was steep, but maybe she's a really experienced stylist. She later proceeds to tell me she's only been doing hair for like three years. I am a licensed stylist in several states and I don't charge $75 for a haircut. Whatever. I signed the consultation form and then the owner came out and goes over the whole consultation with me and the stylist.

She shampoos my hair and then starts the cut. She started from the front of my head which was a little weird because typically for a haircut you start at the back to create a guide to ensure you have an even cut. Then she did the "layers" where she took a horizontal chunk of hair pulled it up and cut across (this essentially cut one layer in my hair- not actual layers). At this point I'm watching confused because I've never seen hair cut like this before, but hey maybe she knows something I don't.

During this time she asks me if I do men's cuts- I tell her I do and she tells me she hates them. That she didn't go to school to do men's cuts. About 20 minutes later comes in her next appointment- a men's cut. She also says she hates to blow dry hair... I asked for a blowout. At this point she's starting the face framing and asks how I want it. I told her below my chin and blended. She takes a section from the front of my hair all the way to my ear and cuts above my chin. Not blended at all, and not face framing. She had cut a big chunk and it was essentially bangs. I gasped and she asked what. She stops and asks me what's wrong and I couldn't even begin to talk so she goes and get the owner who comes over to assess the situation. The owner asks the stylist what she is trying to achieve and she says she's not done that she is going to blend it down by point cutting. I explained that there was no way to blend it down without giving me a mullet. I ended up asking the stylist to stop cutting and left with half of a poorly executed haircut. She brought up that I didn't show any pictures of face framing, however face framing should be cut the same regardless of how short a client wants it. By no means should it be cut blunt, and it 100 percent should not go from the front to the ear.
The owner did offer to call in another stylist to try to fix it, but I declined and left in tears, with a quarter of a bob, and called around to find a salon that could get me in to fix my butchered haircut. I was able to have it mostly fixed elsewhere, but I now have some thick bangs.

I think the stylists at this salon could truly benefit from some continuing education. A few hands on cutting classes targeting both men and women haircuts, as well as a styling class so they can learn how to give a blowout. As a recommendation to the salon owners and stylists many salon supply stores actually offer continued education that are not very expensive.

Provided is a picture of the "face framing" the stylist did before I left the salon.

I was contacted that night to be told that they did in fact have hair dye and Ty, the stylist, did not want to do my hair that night and used not having hair dye as an excuse for me to leave. Which I find laughable because Catherine (owners wife) told me to take what happened with a "grain of salt" because she was not there and dismissed my feelings and sided with her employee. After mentioning that I will not be returning and I left my opinion of the salon online, I was shortly contacted by the owner Chris (Catherine's husband) to be told that she was crying and very upset about the review.

Chris made multiple attempts for me to be satisfied and to take my reviews down. He has contacted me every day since about my reviews. I went to the salon the very next morning to have my hair done by Sarah and I received a free hair mask. I do wish that I was able to get my hair cut & styled but Sarah was running too far behind. I absolutely appreciate Sarah's help. She made my experience enjoyable, Chris did too. I wish in the beginning that they didn't make so many excuses for how I was treated by Ty but there is nothing I can do about that. I'm not sure what I did to her but I will absolutely recommend having your hair done by Sarah instead.

The people who operate the salon are questionable. I disputed my charge as the services provided were not satisfactory whatsoever. I let Ashley know that I was not happy about my visit a few days later and she didn't have anything to say about it. She also did not wear a mask while doing my hair. Chris hounded me via phone to get this money back to them, which I did. After talking with Chris and attempting to provide details, he talked over me and started bickering with me, the client, and stated he would press charges in court! Interesting approach to get your money back. Beware of this salon.

Everything about my experience here was wonderful! The staff was attentive and friendly. I came here with my mom because we both needed a change. Being new to the area can make finding a decent hair salon tough. Luckily, this was well beyond decent. The atmosphere was perfect, the whole team was perfect, and shout out to Nicole for making my hair perfect!

I cannot recommend this and place and Ty enough! I come from the San Diego area and these ladies are TRUE PROFESSIONALS AND WILL NOT STOP UNTIL ITS PERFECT! My only advice is have patience and a free schedule to be able to let these wonderful women give the best experience. I love my new look and will never let another place touch my hair. Thank you ladies for the amazing day, company, and product.

I recently moved to the area and was looking for a stylist. I had my previous stylist for over 6 years so the new person had a lot to live up to. I discovered The Gossip Shop Salon on Instagram. It made me think of Steel Magnolias and I was intrigued. I was immediately welcomed as well as my husband who was accompanying me. So friendly like old friends chatting at home. My stylist Ty did an amazing job on my hair, matching color and style. It was just what I was looking for! The salon is clean and relaxing like a mini spa treatment. If you're looking for a stylist, look no further! This is your new salon!

Me and the wife stopped in to check out the new local shop and were very pleased. The shop was very modern and clean. My wife scheduled an appointment and while there the stylist Ty had enough time to cut my hair. I have (had) long hair down to the center of my back, Ty gave me a nice minty wash and condition in the very comfy wash chair then chopped about 6 inches off and styled my hair. She provided great conversation and seemed very knowledgeable about hair dye, treatment, overall care. The owner of the shop was also very friendly. I give this shop a 5 star review my wife will continue to use this shop and the stylist Ty. Thanks so much for the attention to detail see you guys next time!!
