I've been going to Karla for my haircuts for about a year, and I'm always impressed with her service. She's not only attentive to detail but also genuinely cares about the health and appearance of my hair. Karla always takes the time to answer my questions and walks me through how to apply and use products correctly. She's a warm and inviting stylist, making every visit enjoyable. My hair has never been healthier, and I credit Karla's expertise and skills. I highly recommend her to anyone seeking a knowledgeable and friendly hairstylist

This is a review for hair cut from Gabriela -- she is a true hair artist!! I absolutely love my hair cut. My thick hair came back after her cut, and has beautiful natural waves to it. My coworkers saw my haircut through Webex and commented on how beautiful it looks thank you so much!!

came in to see Cecilia who I had been talking to on Instagram for a couple of years and felt confident to get my hair done by her after explaining the damage to my hair throughout last year and also I gave her a lot of detail over the weekend before my appointment. I was excited to go in and see her, finally! When I went in , my hair is very dry and somewhat damaged, not the point, she rejected to do a service on me , she offered several options, excused herself and came back and said" I'm sorry I don't feel comfortable working on your hair"
A few days before my birthday, and all the way from Berkeley, my confidence and trust in Cecilia was broken in seconds. I left in tears and shock especially when I spoke to the manager, she coldly, replied, we have the right to refuse anyone, she is also a younger lady who was VERY rude and casually detached & seemed inexperienced as she stated" we have the right to refuse anyone"
It was the most unwelcoming feeling I've ever had.
The owner Carlos (who wasn't there) promptly called me back and offered me a bottle of shampoo for the inconvenience. But it was too late, I had already left and was not going to come back for a bottle of shampoo.
I never came in for a shampoo, I would've rather had a better experience and not a bad one then offered a bottle of shampoo. No thanks. Makes me think what happens when a stylist makes a mistake ? (Good luck)
The unprofessionalism is unreal and I will never, recommend this place or step foot in there again. I hope this does not happen to anyone else.
Cecilia was beyond disappointing with the inability to express professionalism.
My overall impression with this entire place is "gag"

Regardless, the 3 of them banded together and successfully, exhibited, a lack of care, understanding or a solution.
Plus there is NO parking. Not to mention there's probably a reason it's right across the street from Jack-in-the-Box.
Limon salon was a big letdown.

Carlos, You keep coming on here trying to get Yelp to remove my review and trying to explain in detail that I had hair loss and severe damaged hair. I've already expressed that to Cecilia and also for the world to see Here with my review.
So it doesn't matter that you're adding detail about my awful hair. And apparently you don't have a good heart if you keep editing your comment on my review to try to show and reveal, more of what's wrong with my hair. That is not a good look for you, and you're basically confirming my awful experience with your attempt to keep changing up your comment with this review.
You're gonna have to accept what happened, you were not there.
Cecilia did in fact refused to work on my hair like I said, there was no solution to and yes I walked out in tears. I don't care if everyone knows about my damaged hair, they need to know how your salon handles business when you're not present.

You came in for a complimentary consultation, not for a hair service (I was present at the salon). We absolutely did not refuse you service. During your consultation, your Stylist Cecilia explained to you that she did not feel comfortable putting any chemicals on your hair because of your current hair damage. You have a very large area of broken hair on the crown of your head from existing lightening services.
Unfortunately, your hair cannot handle anymore chemicals at this time because most of your hair will break off. Cecilia was being professional and honest with you about the condition of your hair. You told her to just do it regardless, but refused to do a strand test. We understand it's not what you wanted to hear and we are sorry that you felt rejected. Cecilia was only trying to protect your hair. We never want to turn away a client.
I offered you an Olaplex product because I felt bad that you were crying on the phone with me about your hair loss and driving far for your appointment. I thought since you came all the way from Berkeley you could at least go home with a product that would help you protect and repair your hair. You even thanked me and told me that I have a kind heart.

Thank you Gabriela for my new haircut! She was very patient and explained everything thoroughly so I would know what she was doing and what to expect. My hair feels very light and has so much movement now. She was very meticulous and took her time with my thick hair and I love the way it turned out. I would definitely come back for her!

Late Cancellation, Unfair Policies
Received a cancellation notice just an hour before my appointment at Limon Salon. Disappointed that their 48-hour cancellation policy doesn't seem to apply when it's them canceling. Ever wanted to cry of joy after a haircut? Me neither until today. Destiny is an absolute dream of a hair stylist, of a human, of a miracle worker. She was able to perfectly emulate the vision I wanted for my hair and make perfect product recommendations to help with my scalp and end concerns. I can't wait to see her again soon!

Carlos, if what I'm saying is untrue, why respond in the first place? Why have you been updating and replying on Yelp for the past few days? Aren't you a BIG salon owner? Don't you have better things to do than reply to fake Yelp reviews? You already made yourself look so stupid, don't make yourself look any more foolish lol
Believe Carlos at your own risk. I was present throughout the entire process, and I paid. I saw my mom's hair become red and damaged myself. I even heard Priscilla saying that she doesn't get paid for this myself. The funny part is, Carlos wasn't there himself AT ALL.
My mom and I were the clients, and the issues I'm addressing are real. Nothing I'm saying is a lie. He asked for my mom's review, and now he's using it against us. It doesn't matter who wrote it; a review is a review, and ours is based on genuine experiences. Carlos is an awful and unprofessional salon owner who avoids addressing real issues and instead blames the customers.
Carlos sidesteps the problems I raised regarding the salon services. Instead of addressing the actual issues with the services, all he focuses on is accusing me of posting a false review. The main concern is the poor quality of services, but he tends to deflect from that.
We talked for about 20 minutes, and he said he will get back to me by the end of the day. After not hearing from him, I texted him twice politely. When still no response, I posted on Yelp, and now he's being petty about it. Don't expect anything from him. He's a horrible person.
Do not go to this salon!! Why? Please see for yourself. Can't reply to Carlos since he blocked me after dming me himself lol.
Here is an update:
Carlos, if you think my review isn't honest, that's your opinion. Of course, you're going to defend your salon. Let me make it clear: my mom is so unhappy she wants to sue. So don't tell me how she feels; you weren't even there. What kind of owner are you? You're nowhere to be found when issues happen in your salon. Blindly hiring people, charging a lot for a lousy job - that's not okay.
It seems you're doing everything to make my review seem false. Why not explain why Priscilla skipped the strand test or didn't blow dry the hair? Your so-called complimentary adjustment means nothing; she wouldn't have needed it if Priscilla did a better job. And please tell me, what good did the complimentary adjustment even do? The complementary adjustment was only scheduled so that Priscilla could fix her mistakes. During the complementary adjustment, she added a lot of gold highlights to cover the red hair from the day before.
Also, maybe pay your stylists better? Priscilla said she doesn't get paid for blow drying after a color appointment. What kind of salon is this?
You're trying to act like you, your salon and the stylist, Priscilla, aren't to blame. If that were true, you wouldn't bother responding on this public platform. But you did, because you know you're at fault!
I went through other one-star reviews, and I noticed your responses are quite arrogant. It's clear you don't really care about your customers. Here's a piece of advice: try being a more humble salon owner. Taking constructive feedback with humility can go a long way in improving your business.

Abia, you are angry because I publicly proved that your review was NOT HONEST. I showed that we had a conversation on Instagram the day you reached out and before our 19 minute conversation over the phone the next day when I addressed all your concerns about your moms hair. I was incredibly responsive to you even though YOU ARE NOT OUR ACTUAL CLIENT. Abia you are now retaliating because I blocked you on Instagram after you threatened to have your mom (Amina M.) write a bad review. It is obvious that you created that Yelp account today 11/24 and wrote that review as well. Thank you for providing the screenshots for those DM's. You can continue to attack me and my business with false reviews on Yelp but we will not be providing you a refund. We also do not respond to threats. You have been blocked from our salons and social media accounts.

Thank you for your feedback. This is a well written review, but it is NOT HONEST. Priscilla did everything she could to make your mom happy including providing a complimentary adjustment service. Your mom liked her hair but you on the other hand were not happy with anything Priscilla did for your mom. You controlled the entire appointment and are now the one writing a review, NOT HER ACTUAL CLIENT.
You say I wasn't responsive, which is also not true. You DM'd me on Instagram on Nov 6th at 6:40pm and I responded that same evening (I would leave a screenshot of that conversation here if Yelp had that feature). We then had a phone call on Nov 7th at 9am the next morning for almost 20 minutes addressing your concerns about your moms hair. Yes that was me that you talked to. I explained to you that we already provided your mom a complimentary adjustment. You then asked if anyone else would be able to do your moms hair, and I said I would see if any other stylists would be willing to work with your mom to change her color for the 3rd time. Unfortunately because of your extremely controlling behavior, no other stylist at Limón feels comfortable doing your moms hair in fear that you will stand there the entire appointment telling them what to do like you did with Priscilla. We wish you and your mom the best.

I recently visited Limón Salon with my mom for a hair service from Priscilla, and unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory. During the initial consultation, Priscilla confidently assured us that she could achieve the desired look for my mom's hair. She had promised us! However, the execution of the service fell short in several aspects.
Despite spending an entire day on my mom's hair, Priscilla failed to deliver the promised result. We specifically expressed our concerns about not wanting red or excessively gold tones, yet my mom left the salon with red hair after the first session. This left us with a sense of frustration and disappointment. My mom had to go to work with the red hair the next day.
Furthermore, it's customary to complete the styling process, including blow-drying/styling, when coloring a client's hair. Priscilla neglected to style or blow dry my mom's hair, allowing her to leave with partially wet hair. This left us feeling confused and concerned about the final appearance.
What's even more disheartening is the lack of responsiveness and accountability from Limón Salon's owner, Carlos, after we reached out to address our concerns. He said he will call me yet I received no calls or responses to our inquiries. This kind of unresponsiveness demonstrates a severe lack of commitment to customer satisfaction. Essentially, they charged a significant amount for a poorly executed job and disregarded our concerns.
Furthermore, the fact that Priscilla did not perform test strands during the consultation to understand how my mom's hair would lift reflects a lapse in professional judgment. The subsequent over-processing of her hair, despite the extended timeframe, resulted in a final look that not only missed the mark but left her hair in worse condition than when we initially entered the salon.
When scheduling the appointment, I was unaware that Priscilla had only joined the salon two months ago. Had I been informed of this, I would have opted to schedule with a senior stylist. Priscilla told my mom she joined two months ago during the appointment. Clients should be provided with this information or, at the very least, it should be displayed on the website. This lack of information contributed to the mismatch in expectations, as I believe an experienced stylist may have better navigated the complexities of my mom's hair request.
During my mom's hair appointment, I noticed that Priscilla's shoes got stained with hair dye. In an effort to show our appreciation for her hard work, I took the initiative to buy her new shoes and even provided lunch. However, despite these gestures, it was disheartening to feel that the same level of care and consideration was not reciprocated towards us as clients.
I want to clarify that I'm not counting favors; instead, I'm aiming to convey that I recognize and appreciate the effort she put into her work. My intention is not to undermine her, but rather to provide context to the situation.
In light of this experience, I strongly advise others to reconsider choosing Limón Salon for their hair needs. I've been trying out new local salons since my fav stylist raised prices. Angel is the first stylist I've seen who understood my curly hair (which I don't) and he took the time to dry it the right way. His services are reasonably priced for a nice salon in the area. He isn't super chatty (at least with me) which I actually like as I prefer my stylist to focus on my hair sometimes and not ask me my life story. :) Four stars only because I was upsold on a treatment (that I probably needed ngl) as it was pricy and I should have asked the cost first before agreeing to it, but I wish when asked these things the cost was more transparent and it's hard to say no when a stylist is telling you your hair is dry and needs it. The salon is nice and has free parking.

This salon is amazing. The staff is not only gracious and helpful, but they are incredibly proficient, creative and professional stylists. The blow dry I received there was done carefully and meticulously- and made my hair look incredible. The same was true for the root touch up I received - which was so well done, and also made the rest of my hair color look fantastic. Gabriela was so attentive to everything she did- to ensure that I was comfortable and liked the work. There's no doubt- the color and blow dry was fantastic.
Additionally- the drinks are wonderful. I was very sleepy and I was kindly provided with two excellent lattes. I highly recommend Limon for the outstanding stylists. My stylist at Limon, Gabriela, is incredibly talented. She is careful and diligent- and makes my unruly hair look fantastic. The beautiful lasted for over a week even while I was traveling out of the country. People I was working with commented on how beautiful my hair is!
Limon uses the best products, and makes the clients comfortable with drinks and kindness and attentive service. I highly recommend LIMON.
