Guys, I have a problem: I am utterly devoted, attached and just plain old OBSESSED with macarons! Good lord, I LOVE these almond-meringue dainty treats! The perfect circles, the colors, the bounty of flavors and fillings!!!!! This stuff is better than sex. Fight me. As a Certified Level-Four Macaron Connoisseur; I reserve the right to be picky in that I know a quality macaron over a flimsy little play-thing. I also have a preference of French macarons versus Italian or Swiss versions (they vary in the meringue and sugar preparation which lead to different textures but that is a discussion for a blog rather than a Yelp review). I've found it difficult to find the perfect macaron in Los Angeles and the spectrum of quality within the city is vast. Luckily, I found a spot that satisfies my macaron needs.
You've surely heard of or seen 'Lette Macarons which began as Paulette Macarons (after chef and creator Paulette Koumetz) in Beverly Hills and has expanded to six locations, malls and even worldwide! 'Lette Macarons offers their iconic French macarons alongside custom-printed macarons and even shortbread cookies but clearly their macarons are the stars, here.
This location of 'Lette Macarons on Pico near the La Cienega intersection offers a cute albeit basic storefront with a red brick exterior and whitewashed interior that makes the bright macarons pop! My two experiences with 'Lette Macarons (thus far, as there will be MANY more!) were through delivery with Postmates so I can't comment on the store or customer service which is why I can't give a full 5-stars.
I first lost my virginity to 'Lette Macarons with a delivery of 6 macarons: Raspberry, Red Velvet, Pistachio, Passion Fruit, Salted Caramel, and Madagascar Vanilla. 'Lette Macarons is obviously about presentation as the macarons arrived in a lovely box and bag with a colorful visual graphic explaining the flavors. The cookies are made fresh daily so expect perfect macarons in vivid colors (you can keep these in the fridge for a few days but don't freeze them!). The cookies were bright, some were decorated and they were simply a work of art. Not to mention, 'Lette doesn't skimp on size: these are medium-sized macarons!
As they say, what is inside counts more than looks and 'Lette Macarons has this on lockdown, as well! Every single cookie was perfect in terms of appearance (smooth tops, perfect macaron feet), texture, flavor and filling. The Passion Fruit was a tropical escape while the Salted Caramel was the ideal ratio of salt to sticky caramel. The salt is in the actual caramel and not in the meringue which gives it a pronounced boost. The Red Velvet was also a delight with a cream cheese filling. All of them were great, I promise!
In fact, they were so great that I had round two delivered a week later! This time I went with: Sweet Wedding Almond, Violet Cassis (2), Coconut, Passion Fruit, Salted Caramel and Rose. Once again, the cookies were a heavenly chorus. My 'Lette favorite is now the Violet Cassis which is a lovely floral (but not overly so) cookie bordering on lavender flavor inside a beautiful purple cookie. The Sweet Wedding Almond also took my breath away with an amaretto-marzipan-esque flavor. So good! I found the Coconut to be a bit bland and in need of more coconut essence but still tasty. The Rose is also mild and doesn't taste like perfume so for those seeking Rose and Violet dessert but without eating potpourri: 'Lette has you covered.
The cookies have kept well in the fridge for days at a time and simply required a quick counter thaw before eating. They remain fresh and don't absorb any fridge odors or flavors.
'Lette Macarons are absolutely wonderful from the quality and presentation to the actual flavor options. As their slogan says: 'Lette them eat macarons! Well, don't mind if I do... lots and lots of macarons!Helpful 11Thanks 0Love this 12Oh no 0 - Jason S.Oakland, CA387131Dec 22, 2022

The roommate's in the restaurant biz, so he works every Valentine's Day. Being the thoughtful person he is, he sends me something at work every year. This week, I got treats from 'Lette Macarons. They arrived on Wednesday, February 14th around 1pm. The box was packaged well and came with two small ice packs.
Gift Box of 12 ($25):
*Heart shape petit coeur: dark chocolate ganache
*Blueberry lemon: myrtille citron
*Red velvet: red velvet ganache
*Madagascar vanilla: vanille de Madagascar
*Violet casis: violette cassis
*Sweet wedding almond: dragée de mariage
*Rose: rose
*Passion fruit: fruit de la passion
*Raspberry: framboise
*Colombian coffee: café de Colombie
*Earl grey tea: thé earl grey
*Lemon: citron
He created a box of 12, but you can also get 'lette's assortment. I'm not big on chocolate or nuts, so the roommate always makes me a box. My favs were the fruit ones: blueberry lemon, passion fruit, raspberry, and lemon. All the macarons had a nice chew and held together well. Though I did think they were a little too soft in the center. The heart shaped one wasn't shaped like a traditional heart. More like the heart organ which I thought was weird. It did get a little smooshed as the container is only made for round macarons.
A great vday treat! And all the way from Southern California. Glad Lette ships as I wouldn't have tried their macarons any other way.Helpful 19Thanks 0Love this 16Oh no 0 - Samantha M.Orange, CA68130150Dec 29, 2021
They had such a wide variety to select from so we got a few. My favorite is early grey. The store was charming and bright and I would definitely like to return.

I came here based on reviews, I tried the chocolate passion fruit, coconut, almond ganache and raspberry. Beautiful and exotic options, but the flavors are hardly coming through and they were extremely stale, for $2.25 a piece, they should be able to keep them at least fresh or full of flavors, but with neither, I'm disappointed and want to try a better place before I leave.
Bare in mind that I've tried various macaroon places in Paris and other countries and I know exactly how it's supposed to be.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Anesa E.Reno, NV2857577Apr 6, 2021
The tastiest macarons around Every flavor is yummy and they have a wide variety to choose from. The box for 2 is so cute! The pricing is average, but well worth it. I'd recommend if you're in the area and looking for a tasty snack!

After eating at Urth Cafe, we decided to visit this place for some macaroons. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see the nice display of macaroons on the counter because the girl was cleaning the display area so she boxed up all of the macaroons for safe keeping. Of course, that didn't stop us from ordering.
I have tasted a few macaroons over the years and I can say their macaroons are good. The filling in their macaroons are soft & creamy and the outside texture is just right. Not too hard and not too soft.
The price of the macaroons is little on the high side but it's worth it.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - May 10, 2017
I was in the area and saw this in passing and thought I would stop in. It's super cute with simple design both inside and out. There was so many to choose from but decided to get the option of the friendly counter girl. She said her favorite was the sweet wedding almond and that it wasn't too sweet. I asked which fruity one was the best and she suggested the raspberry since it tasted like raspberry sorbet. Macaron prices around town seem to be between $2-$2.50, they were $2.25 here. I ate them as soon as I left so I could get their true flavor. They were both yummy. My favorite was the raspberry that did indeed taste like raspberry sorbet with the slightest of tartness to it.
Parking can be kind of tricky. There's metered parking throughout and a few 20 minute meters that will usually free up. There's some neighborhood parking a few block surrounding the side streets but pay attention to the signs posted for street sweeping and other restrictions. They take credit card even for my purchase under $5. There's plenty of coffee places like Blue Bottle and another across the street from Lette if you want something to go with your macarons. I believe they just started serving basic coffee as well.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
