Disrepectful, miserable, sour staff. The dentist seems to take pleasure in scaring you. I just switched and was told how well I take care of my teeth and that while I may lose a couple of teeth, they are "going to fall out very soon".

Not a very busy office, there never seems to be anyone there when I pass by. I had a basic filling done by the dentist who appears to be the owner, but within a year I it needed to be redone by another dentist.
The dentist seemed nice enough and I had a positive initial feeling, but good work is still what I'm looking for in a dentist.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

I am sorry you had a negative experience at the office. There have been changes made to our filling materials since your last visit. If there is anything that I can do for you in the future, please feel free to contact the office.
The office looks empty most of the time because it is our goal not to keep patients waiting. We do try our best to keep to our schedule diligently, and patients are usually brought in as soon as they arrive.
Thank you for your feedback. - Isabella F.Toronto, Canada046Mar 8, 2019
We switched to Leslieville Dentistry after the dentist we had been going to for over a decade sold his practice to McDentists who turned it into a dental drivethrough. It's always a little nerve-wracking for me going to a new dentist. I don't have the greatest teeth and gums, and it's easy to feel stressed out and judged at the dentist. Additionally, many dentists are quite rough when manipulating your mouth, as if they've forgotten that it's actually attached to a person. At Leslieville Dentistry, I have nothing but positive things to say about the kindness and warmth of the hygienists, and the gentleness and thoroughness of their work. I initially contacted them by email, and Dr. Fung responded very quickly, with much kindness and detail, and patience. Interestingly, Dr. Fung comes across in person as very serious, a little cool, and a little detached, but incredibly focussed and detail oriented. I found her manner to be just a little unnerving at first, to be honest. However, the whimsy of the artwork on the walls of the treatment rooms tell another side to the person whose hands are in your mouth. Dr. Fung is incredibly respectful in her manner, as well as gentle. She's knowledgeable and incredibly good at what she does. As a bonus, they don't over book. I've never waited more than a minute or two for my appointment, which is a refreshing change. I highly recommend Lesliville Dentistry, Dr. Fung, and the team of hygienists for anyone looking for an excellent Dental practice in the area.

Dr.Fung and her staff are excellent. I'd recommend her practice to anyone needing a dentist in Queen east.
She and her staff are polite, caring and very good at what they do! As a cavity prone person, I've had my share of good and not so good dentists. She is hands down the best! Dr.Fung is quick, efficient and never leaves any question as to what she's doing. I appreciate her skill, you would too!
Best of all, the office is never crowded! Patients are booked with out overbooking, or squeezing extras in, so I've never waited more than a few minutes to be seen! Which in a world of delayed, and packed waiting rooms is beyond wonderful.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Warren C.The Beach, Toronto, Canada198148110Feb 15, 2012First to Review
Dr. Fung is a very caring and careful dentist. Very very good with the needle - barely felt a thing. After having 5 different dentists over the past 10 years, she definitely is the best with the needle!
Clean and modern office, very welcoming. I like the art on the walls. Overall, just a great experience going there.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sid D.San Francisco, CA36258713Dec 7, 2013
I'll keep this short and sweet: Dr. Fung is an exceptional dentist. Her framed degrees on the wall show she graduated from the very best universities. More importantly, her bedside (chair-side?) manner is very warm but professional. She always remembers details about my family and provides extremely thorough care. To top it off, her office is modern and equipped with the latest technology/amenities. We stick with Dr. Fung even though we live all the way on the other side of the city.

I'm a middle-aged man. I've been to numerous dentists in my lifetime, and since I've lived all over Toronto, I've dealt with various clinics throughout the Toronto area. Out of all the experiences, this was definitely one of the worst.
The office was very clean and I had a pleasant encounter with the receptionist (Janet?), who was great over the phone and in person. After that, it went down hill from there. The hygienist was very rude to me, and I even caught her making fun of my smell as I paid my bill (my line of work isn't too pleasant). I was afraid to bring this up to the dentist because she seemed very stressed out the day I visited (it was a Saturday after all so I understand). It's never right to make fun of a customer. Since I live in the neighbourhood and I don't feel like traveling to North York for my teeth, I may have to return to this place, but I do hope I get the dentist next time.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Cheri D.Iroquois, Canada39206151Jan 25, 2014
Just had my first dental appt here. So this is just my initial feeling and I will definitely update after I go back for a couple fillings.
I hadn't been to the dentist in a few years, but I really couldn't put it off any more as I knew I was getting some serious cavities in my molars. I called for an appointment and the receptionist was really kind and informative on the phone. I was worried that I might be getting a gum infection and told her i was in some pain. She booked me for an appointment for just 2 days after I called. That was a relief.
In the winter I take transit, so it was a big plus that the office is only 1/2 a block from the streetcar stop at Queen and Leslie. Again, the receptionist was really nice, and I didn't wait long to go into see Dr. Fung. I explained my dental situation and my concerns and she had a look. She was really gentle with my gums and didn't poke the crap out of them like I've had some dentists do in the past (I hate that!). What I relief that I didn't have any major decay happening back there. I got an mouth rinse to clear up a cut i had on my gums (not infected, hooray!) and I can reschedule in a few weeks for have some little cavities filled, but nothing urgent to panic about.
I really liked that she was calm and focused on what my concerns where and didn't start picking apart every minor thing that is possibly wrong with my teeth. I'm on a budget (who isn't!) so I can just get one or two things done at each visit.
Another plus is that they can make a claim directly with your Dental Insurance if you give them your info.
I'll actually not terrified to go back. That's a first.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - East Side R.Toronto, Canada01Nov 13, 2012
Good experience. Clean, modern office. Dr. Fung is friendly and professional - the website is a little flowery for my tastes, but in-person she is normal and seems competent. Very thorough exam! A great change from previous dentists who spent 5 seconds tops looking in my mouth. Only reason I'm not giving five stars is the polishing from the dental hygienist was a little awkward and I had to wait 15 minutes for the appointment even though no other patients seemed to be around (very minor complaint). However, the staff was very pleasant and considerate. I'll definitely return.

I am sorry we kept you waiting at your last appointment. We do try our best not to do so, unless we desperately need a lunch break or time to reset the office. Thank you for your feedback, and we look forward to doing even better next time.
