Unfortunately I have to revise my review. I still think very highly of the electrical / high voltage side of Lander, and all of the electrical work done in my house has held up very well. However, the low voltage work done in my house is proving to b a train wreck. I've had the police out to my house twice now due to false alarms based on bad wiring in the security system, my home theatre components have been super difficult to install in every location because of the way Lander placed the connections relative to the component racks, and now all of the speakers in my media room are non-functional because the wiring Lander did is defective.
Worse of all Lander is saying they can't provide warranty repair for the wiring for over a month, which is unacceptable, and means I'm going to have to pay someone else to do the repair and go after Lander for the costs. Very, very disappointing.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Oct 8, 2015Previous reviewLander are in the process of wrapping up the electrical / high voltage and the AV / networking / low voltage work for me on the custom home we are building, and I can say without any reservations that they have been hands down the absolute best subcontractor / trades vendor during the whole long and arduous 2 year construction process. My project ended up being challenging and complex in many ways, and the Lander folks never complained and in fact they have always been an absolute pleasure to deal with. They were incredibly thorough in reading through and understanding my specs, and ALL of their people on my job truly seem to want to do great work and not just "get the work done". Joe, the head electrical guy on my job, and Don, their manager on the low voltage side, have been especially great to deal with. I honestly have a hard time trusting any of the negative reviews for Lander based on my experience with them, and I would have no reservations recommending them for anything from the smallest job to the most complex and custom project.

Joe Walter is such a consummate professional. He takes the time to fully explain the problem, the possible solutions, and the cost of each option. He even came over to help us with something on the first day of his vacation!
I've worked with Lander/Qnorthwest for years now, and I'm always impressed by their knowledge and customer service.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan P.Puyallup, WA03Aug 15, 2023
We used This company to do a lot of electrical work while remodeling the outside of the house. Have used this company in the past and current service is just as high quality as it was in the past. Will use them in the future when needed.

This band of clowns managed to break one of my outlets while installing 3 GFCIs. Now, GFCIs are dead simple to install, so I have no idea how they managed this (or why they needed more than one person to do the job). They take 5 minutes and only cost about $20 each, so the price this company charges is obscene.
Also, I had actually wanted a company to ground some outlets, which is not the same thing as installing GFCIs. The lead guy spent a while mansplaining GFCIs to me, but I gave them a chance. Big mistake. Although this saved me 15 minutes of work, it created hours of investigating this problem and a big headache.
It now seems like I'm going to need to have an actual electrician come out to fix Lander's mistake, which is a couple hundred dollars minimum and has a good chance of running over a thousand because the problem is with the wiring, not the outlet itself. I've rarely encountered such incompetence.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - M F.Mercer Island, WA05Sep 21, 2022
I recently had a first-rate experience with Landers Electric solving an electrical problem in my kitchen. Patricia, the service coordinator, was able to schedule me for repairs on the day that I emailed her and kept me posted on everything in a gracious way. Jack, our electrician, was prompt, diagnosed my problem in a timely manner, and fixed my problem in no time.
Electricians are expensive but I felt I received value for my money.
Given my experience, I highly recommend Landers Electric.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Peggy M.Bellevue, WA019Sep 22, 2021
We can't recommend Lander Electric enough. We have an old 1956 house that needed all the receptacles, switches, and fixtures. Joe Walter found all the old problems and got the house up to code. They also put in a new floodlight for our driveway.
The pricing was average for the bids but the customer service and work were excellent. Here on date and time they scheduled. Got straight to work and kept at it until the job was done. Helpful and straightforward about what you can and can't do for a house this old.

We got two quotes for installing a mini-split in our house, and one of them said that our electrical panel was completely full and we would need to install a new one. Joe Walter from Lander Electric came to give us a third-party opinion and a free estimate for any necessary work. He spent about 40 minutes looking at our panel in detail (it's old and a bit wonky after some prior work) and talked me through the entire system. At first we thought that one of the breakers wasn't connected to anything and would be free for the mini-split, and Joe wasn't going to charge us anything for his consultation, even though it required his time and expertise. Right before he left we noticed that the dishwasher had turned off, but he figured out a creative solution, and in another 30 minutes had freed up two breakers for our mini-split. Pricing seemed fair/average: $250 for the first hour. And he saved us over $6,000 in electrical work! Joe was efficient, thorough, patient, and friendly. He'll be our first call any time we need electrical work done in the future.

This is going to be long... I was initially very pleased with Lander Electric's quality of work performed and ability to squeeze in my job. I was in the middle of a remodel and had requested that the electrician (that my general contractor had subcontracted) run some CAT6 ethernet cables for internet. He said he would and then after a week of trying to nail him down said he couldn't. I lost a week and didn't have the work complete. I called a handful of businesses but either no one wanted to take the admittedly small job or do low voltage electrical wiring (i.e. CAT6 ethernet pulls). Lander called me back promptly and got to work within the next few days. I was then able to have the remodel work continue.
Herein lies the issue. Lander assured me that everything was wired up correctly and that I was set to go. I couldn't validate this until after the remodel was complete. Now that I've crossed that threshold, moved my networking equipment, and been able to label each connection, I've found that I'm getting internet speeds far below the theoretical threshold in one of the rooms where they pulled cables. The other locations are all within an acceptable level, but literally the entire reason I went through this exercise was so that I'd have reliable speed in my office. After numerous speed tests, the Wi-Fi is faster than hardwired. I've done all the troubleshooting and can trace it back to the line pulled to this room that's now behind walls. Something is wrong.
Here's where Lander earned their 1-star review. When I finally concluded that the issue was based on their work, I reached out to them via phone. It went to voicemail. I left a message. A week later, no response. I kept trying to call with the same results. I tried emailing and after a week or two received a response from someone in the front office that internet speeds can vary. I explained my troubleshooting process and told them this was not an acceptable answer and that they needed to pass along my notes to a technician and have them follow up with me. I've now been following up via email for about a month. At times with daily messages. Twice I was told someone would 'probably be able to make it on x day'. I gave them my availability and hoped for the best. Two no shows. I became so frustrated I asked why I was being ignored. I was told 'we are just that busy'. Again, I find this an unacceptable answer. You weren't too busy to both perform the job and take my money initially. I'm beyond frustrated. I've given them the benefit of the doubt, but they have not respected my time or my business. If you choose to do business with Lander, make sure to double check their work immediately so you don't end up in my situation.
Lander, if you're reading this... do the right thing and come fix the issue you're responsible for.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Scott G.Bellevue, WA02Jun 26, 2021
Incredible work! Joe and Carson spent 2 days at our residence in Bellevue working on a wide variety of projects. They hit it out of the park! Amazing attention to detail...fabulous professionalism.....great attitude (in spite of the fact that an aging house threw them a few curveballs)....excellent customer-service, and ability to explain what they were doing at every stage of the project...the list goes on and on. If only all service professionals had this sort of an approach to their job and profession....wow! Even the City of Bellevue inspector, when he came to inspect the work said "Wow!" --- at first I couldn't tell if he was going to start to trot out a list of issues with the work, but when I inquired what "Wow" meant he said --- "These guys did a REALLY great job!"
My advice to anyone needing electrical work done --- don't bother calling around --- just dial Lander and wait for greatness.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jason B.Redmond, WA014Dec 31, 2021
I've used Lander on a couple different projects. First, they added a sub panel for me for a portable generator and installed some new lights and circuits for a small remodel project. When I finally got my generator, I realized the panel wasn't working right; it wouldn't cut over to the generator power. I called and they came out to look at it. At first, the technician claimed he hadn't installed it and had never seen a panel like that. Then I showed him the receipt he had signed. He said he'd have to do research and get back to me. That was 3 months ago. I've been calling them about every 2 weeks since then and they either ignore my calls and emails or when they do reply, it's a different excuse every time. I hope they're all ok, but I haven't gotten a reply to my last few attempts to contact them so I don't know. I got a different company to fix the generator panel; in about an hour he'd contacted the panel manufacturer and found that the original installer had messed up the wiring. I also used Lander to install some new circuits in my garage. That was pretty expensive ($400/circuit for a run about 10 feet from the panel). I had to call them back because they gave me 15 amp outlets on a 20 amp circuit. When they came back, he only had enough outlets with him to change out one of the 3 runs they installed and said he was trying to save the company money. They also charged me $275 to rip a wire out of an exterior wall that wasn't even wired to a circuit inside. I get that electricians have to charge what they charge, but given what I've paid them for these projects, I expected better service and to not get ghosted when they screwed up my generator panel. I won't be using them or recommending them again.

Shane was terrific. Very personable, professional, great pricing. We had to reschedule the installation appointment due to the snow in February. The new apt was for a Friday but he managed to fix his schedule to show up on Monday. Great work and service.
