Lamothe Cleaners

Well, here it is. My very first review. I only wish it were a positive one. When I moved to the area, I began using this cleaner because of its location near my house. I spend around $50-$75 per month on suits and shirts. They do a fine job on my suits, but when it comes to laundering and pressing shirts, they do a poor job. The collars come back shiny and "distressed" looking. I'm not sure what causes that, maybe too much heat?
The last straw for me here was July 2008, when I brought 4 brand new shirts in to be laundered and pressed. A dark blue shirt came back to me with a frayed collar where I could see the white sticking out from underneath. My problem is not that a brand new shirt had been possibly ruined, but in how they handled the situation. I returned it to see if it could be fixed and they said that the owner/manager would look at it to see if it could be fixed and get back to me. Then I waited. And waited. Finally after two months and a few more non returned phone calls, I had to give up. I got my shirt back, with no fix and no word on if the shirt could be fixed from the owner/manager.
Its a shame really, because their location was so convenient and most of the employees I dealt with regularly were really nice people.

Avoid this cleaners at all cost!!--I have had 2 really bad experiences--
I understand mistakes are made--They have shrunk 2 items and fight you the whole way--Never willing to meet you half way--Always trying to find someone else to blame for their mistake--Plus you have to track down the owner--They make no effort to rectify a bad situation--It's you that needs to hound them down--It's just not worth dealing with them--I find the owner completely condescending and dishonest--I will never support his business and will constantly be telling others to find another option--

Dropped a goose feather comforter off to be cleaned. They said they would call me when it was done after no calls for 2 weeks i called and they said it was done. Went in picked it up brought it home and guess what it had mold growing on it i guess they didnt dry it good enough. Upon bringing it back they tried to charge me. I believe i was entitled to a refund and a free wash. After speaking directly to the owner of both the discovery bay store and Antioch store he said that he wasn't going to give me a refund so even after the second time i get my comforter back it still has traces of mold on it!! This place sucks!!!

very bad service.I took 3 sweaters 2 suits and they smelled like a perfume chemical I really do not know.They redid them and the suits smelled even worse.I had a down comforter lost buy them and they said I never brought it to them.This is a really bad place they accuse the customer of all wrong doing.With the suits I thought I 'd try again after 3 years of not going there and having to drive to Brentwood.I was so upset I washed my clothes on gentle cycle 2x's and took to Brentwood to be pressed.I will NEVER go there again.Laurie Mogianesi
