Huge portions and heavy pours in alcohol! It was busy on a Saturday evening. We arrived at about 630pm and it was about a thirty minute wait. Once we were finally seated we ordered drinks and food right away. Even though it was busy, our server made sure to check on us frequently.
We ordered Don Julio shots and they came looking like double shots to me! Very heavy pours so more bang for your buck. We didn't ask for any chasers but he came us complimentary spicy tomato shooters to chase. They were quite tasty and paired well with the tequila.
Our food came out and portions were huge! We all ordered double combos.. mine being a carne asada chimichanga and shredded chicken taco. The combo come with Spanish rice and retried beans. The plate was very filling and could barely finish half.
All in all this is a fun place to have dinner with your family or friends! Will be back!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Mar 30, 2024
Came here the other day with my son. I told him they have good chicken molet and he says that's one of his favorite dishes.
Anyways, we both got it and he was very impressed. The flavor was good and the portions are large.

Food was delicious!
I got the 2 item, chicken enchilada and chile relleno.
Drinks were strong!
We ordered their house margarita in a pitcher which they made really strong IMO. We loved it so much we ordered 2 more! Lol
Customer service was excellent!

For the longest time i thought this store was a cafeteria style place eatery. Not bad in ambiance. Service and attention was quick. Not that many good latino restaurants in Fremont and this one ranks my 3 rd favorite.
Ordered the street tacos, not bad in flavor. Beans and rice are a staple in all latino restaurants and tasty with thick tortillas. The camarones mojo al ajo , just a bit too salty and garlicky , but quiet good.
Will be trying again next timeHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 13, 2024
In the Tri-City area on the evening of Wednesday, January 3, 2024, Mom suggested that we have dinner with Auntie Marissa at La Piñata in Fremont. Remembering my nice lunch at La Piñata in Hayward, I gladly agreed.
Located in the Gateway Plaza on Paseo Padre, there is plenty of parking available in the shopping center's lot. This location is bigger than the locale in Hayward, but is not as vibrantly decorated. The walls are multi-colored, but the ceiling is not painted. Like the dining room, the women's bathroom was very clean on the night of our visit.
Below are some items that we ordered:
Flautas Dinner (two each of chicken and beef taquitos, $17.25) - To ensure crispness, we asked for the four flautas to be served on a separate plate with toppings and lettuce apart from the taquitos. The rolled tacos were still served with the rice and beans, but at least they remembered to serve the toppings separately. As a result, only the taquito touching the rice and beans lost a little bit of crisp on one side. For some odd reason, I enjoyed the beef flauta at the Hayward location more than the ones served here in Fremont.
#13 - 1 Enchilada (verde with chicken) & Chile Relleno Combination Entree ($16.99) - Initially, I was inadvertently served a carne asada taco instead of the chile relleno. The yummy taco was a generous size and the meat was lean. The chile relleno was also enjoyable. Once I started to eat the enchilada, I had a flashback of looking for melted cheese when I ate this in Hayward. I echo that the enchilada would have been better with melted cheese.
Horchata de Coco ($4.25) - Yum! If you like horchata and coconut like me, this drink is for you.
Service was excellent. When Mom and I arrived, Auntie Marissa was already sitting at a high table at the bar. We asked to move to a regular table further in the dining room and the friendly host helped us with warmth and a smile. When our waitress served my erroneous order, she took back the plate to bring to the kitchen, but returned it to me very quickly, admitting that the mistake was her fault. She let me keep the carne asada taco and brought out the missing chile relleno in no time. I was very impressed by her honesty and accountability. Not many people are as honest as her.
Apparently, Auntie Marissa has been frequenting this place. In fact, our waitress recognized her from being in on the Sunday prior. This is evidently a regular spot for my aunt and I can totally understand why.
Although part of a chain, La Piñata is a solid place to go for Mexican food.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Feb 20, 2024
You can get your standard Mexican fare at La Piñata. They execute well and provide prompt service. The food, however, is so-so. For example, we ordered the combo fajitas and all of the steak, chicken, and shrimps were dry. However, I am impressed by their extensive (&thoughtful) cocktails menu, so this place could easily become a happy hour staple.

My company orders lunch from here every so often. They have a large menu where everyone can find something they like. We usually get it delivered, and our order hasn't been wrong yet!
I've tried the veggie burrito, the super famoso burrito, and the sweet potato taquitos. All of which have been pretty good.
I am sure it'll stay on our lunchtime rotation!Helpful 3Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Marina M.Hayward, CA3672450Feb 9, 20241 check-in
Had a great experience at La Piñata. Our waiter Armando was very attentive and kept checking in on us. We had briefly mentioned that it was my friend's birthday and they came to sing her happy birthday at the end of our dinner. Overall the food really good and we loved the service here!

I came here recently for dinner with some old friends and I didn't take pictures which I usually do but we were so busy catching up. We had potato skins and flauta's as appetizers and I ordered a half meal with a pork tostada, along with one happy our margarita. The service was great. BUT the margarita was terrible, my friend mentioned to the waitress that I didn't like my drink but I told her it's been awhile since I have had a drink, but honestly it tasted like someone poured beer into it, we were all hungry but later on I had the worse stomach ache. I was really disappointed because the last time we were there the food was really more flavorful and fresher.

La Piñata is one of my favorite Mexican food restaurants in Fremont. The food is great, the service is also great and food comes out pretty quickly. Ambiance includes music, and simple decor. Went here tonight to get my favorite Chicken Tortilla Soup! It is always delicious! And the Super Famoso Burrito!

Finding decent food after 10pm in the suburbs is tough. Discovering it with kind service... you're talking about LaP. This has been my go-to on the East Bay since I was a college student. The prices have changed, but the portion sizes are still generous, the cafe still good and the people still a welcoming group.
While I was waiting for my burrito, I saw the HH menu and I need to come back to try that next. Food and guaranteed parking?! The suburbs have some real good wins!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
