Kost Tire & Muffler

After calling around for a price on brake repairs, these guys came in at the lowest. While it's a little off the beaten path, not so for service. From the phone call to the end of the repairs, Tad and Dom treated me professionally and with respect. What one shop said was bad and would cost $600 and another PB said would cost $815 only cost me a fraction of the cost because the original shop told me I needed more than I did. So make yourself happy. Call them for 2nd opinions before you get repairs if you can. You might be surprised. Yes off the beaten path, but we'll worth the trip!!

Cannot say enough good things about the service at the Kost Jefferson Ave Scranton Pa. No more what you need done these professionals go above and beyond to service your automobile. I will never go anywhere else. Frank is so kind, nice and accommodating. Explains everything to you and even had a glass replacement specialist come to the Kost parking lot to replace my windshield so my car could pass inspection. Dropped off in morning before work and picked up after work, drove home in a car that felt like a dream.

I purchased my tires on opening day at Kost Tire in Moscow, Pa. This was the best service I have ever received using Kost. The staff was courteous, friendly but most important the tires were great. Congratulations on your new store. I have to mention the two guys at the front desk who were awesome. You will be seeing more of me in the coming years.

I came in do get my brakes flushed and they found my front rotors were bad and my front brakes were low and diagnosed my car with professionalism.
And my car drives great now.

I have never gotten anything but absolute professional treatment at this Kost!

For starters, I've been to a few (3) different Kost locations throughout the years and each and every one of them has treated me very well.

THIS particular location is great. I sometimes worry about where I take my car; can this place identify the problem, fix whatever needs fixing, properly service the car...are they a bit crooked and padding the bill...I worry. On two separate occasions I have been to this Kost and they spent an hour or so on my car (usually tire problems, thank you Scranton for working on those potholes.) AND THEY CHARGED ME NOTHING. No charge at all the one time for taking my wheel off the car and straightening a not insignificant ding of the wheel itself. (Other time balancing the tires gratis)

How can you not help but trust a place that doesn't charge you when they easily could? I honestly don't believe they add an unwarranted dime to their bills. Is it the cheapest place in town to get all the basic stuff done for your car? I doubt it, but I don't care, I'll happily pay knowing that what work I get done is what needs to get done.

Another thing, I've had a time when they just kind of scratched their heads and said they weren't sure...I should probably go to the dealership. In a way, I like that a lot too. They aren't going to blow smoke up my rear and tell me they've fixed something. If it's out of their scope they say it up front and give you some advice to get it done right.

This is for Clarks Summit location. Took my vehicle there for an oil change and they put way too much in it. When I took it back they said it was a tad over (it was very much over) and that I was due for an oil change. According to my oil percentage still had 37% left. Will be taking my business elsewhere.

I gave the two stars instead of one because the staff is very nice and they set up appointments quickly.
The reason for the negative review though, is that the same nice staff is also full of pirates lol. I went there to get a quote on getting my muffler fixed. They gave me a quote of over $400.00 stating that I needed a whole new muffler, catalytic converter, etc, etc. I decided to get a second opinion before spending that much money. I went to a nearby shop where they welded it and fixed everything that actually needed to be fixed, nothing more, for $140.00.

I just stopped by to get a tire patched and had a great experience. They said they had a bunch of jobs before me but I still only had to wait about an hour and 15 min. They were very friendly and ended up not even charging me to patch the tire! I will definitely come back for any future problems.

I had THE BEST experience here at the end of the summer. En route to visit a friend during a 150 mile trek, a tire blew out in highway traffic, sending my borrowed vehicle spinning on a steep incline. I was pretty wrecked by the time I managed to get the rig off the highway, but ended up waiting in the heat without shade or water for AAA. By the time I got to the tire place (recommended by locals) I was exhausted from the shock and aftermath. It was my brother's car, so I decided to replace all his worn tires, preparing to wait another day. In less than a few hours, a manager found me the best deal and got four new tires on faster than a pit stop at Watkins Glen Raceway! Thanks Paul N.!

Great turn around. Straightforward suggestions and quick turn around on Ash Street. Needed a local quick place. They dialed in my Mini Cooper brakes and tires and my mini van!
