Kayak Nature Today. When you arrive at The most unique kayak outfitter in the St Petersburg/Clearwater/ St Pete Beach area your adventure begins. All paddlers recieve a free lesson for kayaks or SUP paddleboards along with a map with a suggested route thru the 180 acre Clam Bayou Nature Preserve. After a 2hr paddle across the shallow lagoons and shady mangrove tunnels - chocked full of fish and birdlife - you have the opportunity to paddle the natural shoreline to Gulfport Beach, where you are encouraged to pull the boats ashore and picnic, swim, relax and even leave the boats to visit the wonderful restaurants and shops. This makes for our most popular 1/2 day (up to 4hrs) paddle trip. 1/2 day & full day rentals by reservation. Free parking. Pet friendly All ages and skill levels welcome.

Looking for another spot to do some kayaking. Read good things about this group and we love Gulf Port. We were not disappointed.

So easy to make arrangements completely by txt. Very accommodating and the kayaks were really nice.

He will show you a map and let you know where to go. The cool part about this area is you can ride along the Gulf port shore and even stop in for a lunch somewhere then head back out!

Very professional and super easy to get your kayak and get on the water.

      Highly recommended

Absolutely loved the experience. I wish I remembered the name of the host, he is awesome. He told us where to go, gave us a map and sent us on our way. We were able to text for availability and were sent a video on the site so we knew before hand the map. He was friendly and made us feel welcomed. The trail was beautiful. As experienced kayakers my fiancé and I lapped the map three times in four hours. Definitely a leisure experience. As experienced I highly recommend for both first time and Experienced kayakers. Your map app will work if you get lost (We've kayaked without signal before) so there is no being stranded and you get a beautiful view of the bay and the mangroves! Family friendly as well! We rented a tandem, very pleased with the experience and today the tide was low so we got to get out of our kayak and experience the wildlife on foot for a small amount of time!

Great park, lots of wildlife and manatees to see. Good place if you like to explore and kayak freely around the park.

EXCELLENT place to rent if you have been kayaking. Similar to other reviews, the experience was very favorable. You can easily coordinate with the owner through text to set times and work out details. $40 for 4 hours is a great deal. It's enough time to go through the whole park, as well as across the bay to Gulfport and get some local fresh food at one of the restaurants by the casino.

Notes: the park is relatively easy to go through, but if you are very poor with directions and or stress out in confined spaces it may not be a great choice for you. The owner provides a map which is pretty accurate, and there are white PVC pipes in the water to mark routes. Even if you get lost there's only one real way out so it wouldn't be disastrous. It was a nice trip and just enough of mangroves as well as bay and boardwalk.

Wonderful choice overall and I absolutely recommend it if you want to experience a unique perspective of Florida coast / wildlife.

While the booking process was easy through text message, the rest of the experience was less than stellar. First, there's barely any signage to find the place. Place is a strong word. It's more like a guy with a kayak trailer standing by a kayak launch. He wasn't wearing a mask by the way.

Next, some random guy was taking photos of us. Supposedly, he doesn't work with Kayak Nature and works for the Gulfport Chamber of Commerce. Regardless, no photo releases were signed. Another red flag.

We ordered one single and a double as there were three of us. After pointing out that the kayaks were two doubles. He insisted that you can use a tandem for one person. Let me just say it was incredibly uncomfortable.

Finally, the area in which we kayaked was not great. The water must have been down or something because we ran aground many times.

Overall, I would suggest looking elsewhere for someone a bit more reputable. Will not be returning.

Very enjoyable and accessible paddle through the very placid backwaters and mangroves of Clam Bayou. Saw tons of bird life.

Was very easy to connect with and communicate to via text (we made a few changes to our original reservation, which were accommodated). Has both solo and tandem kayaks.

      I'd recommend!

We had an incredible time! We made a same day appointment and the kayak was ready to go by the time we arrived. He greeted us with a warm smile and a map. Payment and paperwork were quick and easy. Our map got wet while we were out on the water so we ended up getting a little lost, but it just made the adventure even more fun. I'd definitely go back!

I've only kayaked in Florida one other time, but I've developed a love of mangrove tunnels, and there are a couple that you get to paddle through. There's some nice open water kayaking, and the route that Kurt has worked through this park is fantastic. There's almost no way to get lost. Kurt was great to work with. He even followed up with me after to l make sure that we enjoyed ourselves.

Fair and decent guys. All smiles from Kurt and Chase during our experience. They offered helpful tips for us on places to paddle in the bay on the way out. Didn't do much comparison shopping beforehand, but the half day stand up paddleboard rates were ok for us. May be cheaper elsewhere, but convenience pays for itself when with a family of 6 + dog on holiday - $40 for a 1/2 day (4 hours) per SUP. It was just enough time to get comfortable paddling while standing on our first venture out on the water. It's not easy but definitely do-able. Expect to swim a bit since you will fall off more than once, and expect to get tired. SUPs provide a serious workout!

We are staying a few blocks from the Gulfport Marina, so the location was super convenient. My wife and daughter tried double kayaking with our bro-dog, but he wasn't feeling the small vessel and all that water on his first time at sea and my wife had to turn the kayak around as soon as we were exiting the marina. This u-turn burned up some valuable time on the water, but the wife, kids and I still had fun. Saw a few dolphins in the bay which made the venture worth while.

Nothing over the top, but overall a positive experience.that we would be glad to do again with these guys.

Kurt was super easy to work with, and local!

Rented two tandems...he was right on time and the process was quick and easy. After our trip was over we just left the gear at the launch spot after checking in with him (Payment was made at the beginning - Bring cash and exact change)

He has nice kayaks with decent seats, not the ultra-cheap rentals with hard plastic buckets which you often see on the beach.

It was 55.00 for a tandem (2 person) kayak for 4 hours...includes the paddles and life vests

      Highly recommended!
