Went with our favs: house salad, House Designer Roll #1 and the Hama Hama Roll. Most excellent (except for the few pieces where the lemon skin was too thick on the House Designer Roll and no asparagus on the Hama Hama Roll). We then tried the Phoenix and British Columbia Rolls. The Phoenix Roll is vegetarian and honestly, probably the tastiest roll of the evening. The British Columbian Roll was quite good but not as advertised - no asparagus, they subbed cucumber in, which is ok but didn't appreciate not being informed of the change when ordering both the BC and Hama Hama Rolls. We did come in the last hour before closing, so can't complain when they run out of ingredients. Just wish we had been told...
That said, this is good food and the staff is friendly and on it. I would like to give 3 1/2 stars, hubby voted 4 stars. We will most definitely be back.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Feb 6, 2020Previous reviewThe food is very, very good here. So far the House Salad (shredded veggies & crab with house mayo dressing), the House Designer Roll #1 (spicy Hawaiian poke, avocado and fresh salmon with the thinnest slice of lemon on top) and the Hama Hama Roll (mainly hamachi, tobiko and asparagus) are our favs. We're trying Coco's roll tonight, so stay tuned :-)

Excellent sushi in an unlikely spot. Very friendly and pleasing atmosphere.
I had the Dragon Roll with an order of sake. Great dinner option.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jacquelyn B.Novato, CA83281Apr 2, 2024Updated review

I don't understand these Five star reviews. The miso soup is watered down and the chicken teriyaki did not taste like a teriyaki sauce. A lot of food but not very tasty. Won't be going back.

Really a great experience. I arrive as they were closing and the staff was accommodating. I like the somewhat dark lighting and beautiful kimonos on the wall.
The sushi I was fresh and delicious and the wine was very good.
I like this spot but forget about the location. It looked as if regulars were dining there from what I could hear. The restaurant has a comfortable appeal, and I noticed many people lingered.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Aug 24, 2012Previous reviewI tried it a couple of times and I would give it a solid 3. It's a little funky around the edges but the staff is very nice. The oysters were great both fresh and bbq'd. The sushimi was a little stringy but sweet. I discovered melt in your mouth escarol at Kamikasze Sushi. I hear the establishment is a neighborhood table that turned over tables with rapid succession.

I've been here two times now. The food was delicious both the times and the service is also prompt and respectable. I've ordered the bento box and five different types of sushi rolls and they were all were top notch! Servers are super attentive and kind. They both engaged in nice small talk and made me feel really welcome.
I think that the only thing kamikaze sushi could improve on is the atmosphere.
I'm definitely going to become a regular at this place and support this establishment all of the way. Come give this place a try it's a must.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - James D.Mill Valley, CA0186Jun 11, 2023
Love the sushi here and sashimi combos. Most often do take out. Usual so shrimp shumai and sashimi- tempura combo, but it's all good!

Recently did take out from Kamikaze, but my fat a$$ was so excited for the sushi, I forgot to take pix. Ugh!
I've been to Kamikaze a number of times and they never disappoint. With this COVID-19 pandemic and a sushi craving, we decided to stop by and get take out. This take out meal made me realize Kamikaze deserves a review.
Their food, as always, is fresh and delicious. When eating anything raw, the most important thing is freshness cause ain't no one got time for the runs. If raw is not your thing, I highly recommend their Unagi Don (Eel Rice Bowl). I believe they make their own eel sauce. Their sauce is so good.
The service is impeccable. Super friendly staff. I highly recommend Kamikaze.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Lulu D.Muir Beach, CA0462Feb 17, 2023
We were able to walk in on Friday night but it was pleasantly busy. Good vibes. Delicious food. The main guy taking orders may be the owner and he was very friendly and seemed to know many people by name. Love it

They changed their happy hour. There are fewer items and higher prices.
It's ok but not the same value. I added a pic of the new menu.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Jul 26, 2017Previous reviewKamikaze is a no-frills friendly place in a mall. I go there for their weekday (not Fridays) happy hour where each hand roll is just $2.25 along with beers, sake, and assorted appetizers. My daughter loves the crab and we go at least once a month.
