JT's Pizza and Plates

I have to agree with other reviews- we took a chance on JT's and it was a pleasant surprise. We ordered delivery from Grub Hub.... but it arrived with what seemed to be a legit pizza man with his pizza-warming contraption. When he pulled the boxes out they were steaming in this cold night air. Super hot & fresh and delivered super fast! What is it about East Rochester and good pizza? For the record, the 18" NY style is bigger than the regular large and the thin crust is perfect!

I was looking for a place to order garbage plates on a Saturday night with some non-Rochestarian friends. I had never heard of JTs before, but decided to give them a try when they popped up on GrubHub and I'm very glad I did.

*Delivery was fast, food was hot, and the plates were great.* I also probably could've injured someone with how heavy the delivery bags were - the first sign of a quality garbage plate. We each got different plates (chicken finger, JTs, grilled cheese) and were completely silent while we shoveled as much as we could before feeling ill. In the best way. JTs has fortified my argument for my friends to move here and become my new favorite place for a garbage plate in one fell swoop. So glad I checked them out, and so glad to be having leftovers as I write this.

Long story short: Quick delivery. Real good eats.

We found JT's online and, after reading the great reviews, had to give them a try. We were not disappointed.

The restaurant is kinda small and certainly not fancy, divey even... which I personally believe is a necessity for a really good pizza joint. The owner and staff greeted us and made us feel right at home. We opted to eat in... Pizza is better right out of the oven than driving it across town plus I enjoy the decor.

The pie was absolutely great! Thin crust, fully cooked and crispy on the bottom and still soft on top. Just the right amount of sauce (although my wife thought it was a bit too much... She was wrong ) Generous cheese and toppings... Including rings of onion that my wife said made up for the excess (ie: just the right amount) of sauce.

JT's will not replace our more local pizza dive but they are right on par with quality, taste, friendly service and crusty (see what I did there?) decor... So they will be part of our regular pizza rotation from now on!

My boyfriend and I are on a mission to try all the top garbage plates in rochester - and this one was an IMMEDIATE hit! staff was super friendly and kind! food was fast and hot! i ordered a traditional garbage plate for us to split and my boyfriend had buffalo chicken mac and cheese.

Buffalo Mac and Cheese - amazingly creamy and delicious! the noddles were perfectly cooked and the cheese rue was so thick and favorful. The buffalo chicken tenders were so crisp and seasoned!

Garbage Plate- easily top 3 plates in the rochester area! got a plate with 2 cheese burgers, fries and mac salad. The fries were crispy! Mac salad was perfectly seasoned and complemented the rest of the dish! Burgers were seasoned so well (most places struggle with this step) and we're cooked to a perfect medium well - the best way to cook a burger in my own opinion. The meat sauce was flavorful and savory and just spicy enough that you can finish the whole plate without burning your mouth!

Overall an amazing experience! We will be definitely be back!

I am on a mission to find the very best pizza in Rochester and unfortunately this place is not the best. The service and the staff here are outstanding. Very friendly and executed my order to perfection. The potato skins are huge and loaded with cheese and bacon, The chicken wings were good but half the wings were sauced and the other half were not. As for the pizza, under cooked and chewy.
I will never understand how you can charge $2.69 per item on a large pizza and not cover the pizza with the ordered items. They were not very generous with the sausage or the onions but they hammered my pizza with mushrooms. I did not ask for extra mushrooms but whoever made the pizza must like them because it was loaded with mushrooms. I have read other reviews from other customers about JT's and their garbage plates seem to be JT's specialty. I will have to check that out at some point. I would come back here and try this place again but it sure won't be for the pizza.

Maybe I went on an off day compared to the five star reviews. We ordered takeout on a weeknight around 8pm and the food tasted like old grease - the chicken sandwiches, the loaded fries, and the apple logs. The only thing I liked was that they toast the buns, but it tasted like grease too. Don't think I'll give it a second try.

I have to chime in with another 5 star review for this place!

Three of us ordered, and usually something is wrong with the order, someone doesn't like it, something is missing, etc. This order was perfect, and everyone really liked the food!

The side of macaroni and cheese was huge! Way bigger than we were expecting! The dinner must be gigantic!!!

I had the Beyond burger trash plate. My husband convinced me to get the second patty because it was only like $3 more. (Beyond burgers are really expensive, fyi). Well, it was a TON of food! Yes, trash plates usually are, but when I get them, I usually get a grilled cheese one. I could not even finish one patty in one sitting. I ate half of it later, and had a whole patty for dinner the next day. Just a ton of food! The fries and the mac salad were both good, too. I'm very picky about mac salad. Very good taste, creamy enough, and mayo-y enough. All that being said, I think I'd do a grilled cheese plate next time just because I didn't need all that food, and it would be a lot cheaper. I love that they offer Beyond though, so I wanted to try it!

My husband had a burger trash plate with everything. He really liked it and had no complaints, which speaks for itself.

We got the fried dough, too, and I just wish it came with some icing. If it had some icing to dip it in, I'd have probably loved it. It was just meh for me because it was too plain.

We will definitely be here again! The Burrata pizza sounds really good, and their grilled cheese and mac and cheese are great options for me. Love that they have lots of choices for vegetarians!

An absolute must visit when in the area! I got the BCR Mac n Cheese and it knocked my freakin socks off. Customer service was fantastic, and I even got to meet the owner. It's a super cozy quaint spot friendly to families and someone just looking for a laid back night out! Gonna be thinking about this place when I'm home in Nashville

JT's is one of the best places to get pizza, wings, and plates in Rochester. Today I stopped in to try their cheeseburger plate which has been voted best in the area. It is just amazing. I've had their pizza and wings and they are also in a league of their own. The customer service is always top notch as you are warmly greeted by the employees. Definitely check out this "hidden" gem in East Rochester!

Ordered a calzone and potato skins. Was done before they said it would be on a Friday night. Great staff. Food was fire as usual. EAT AT JT'S.

Just tried JT's for the first time, as I am consistently disappointed by the local franchises I usually order from.
All I can say is WOW! I was thoroughly impressed. The pizza was delivered hot and fresh out of the oven. The crust was flavorful and well cooked, the sauce was light and tasty, and the toppings were plentiful.
The wings were HUGE, and perfectly cooked...crisp on the outside, juicy on the inside.
Highly recommended, and my new go-to pizza place.
