I was heading to Panera Bread on City Line Avenue and parked in the lot in the back. However, when working towards Panera, I realized that a new restaurant, Jason's Toradasu had opened right next door.
I had been to the Jason's Toradasu in Ardmore a few times, but this location just opened on Monday so I decided to check it out.
I walked in and was warmly welcomed by the cashier who came around and explained their menu to me. They had some grab-and-go sushi rolls and salads. However, you could order anything from their menu and have it freshly made.
I decided to go ahead and order one California roll along with their Sweet Potato roll. I was immediately given the California roll, but was told the sweet potato roll will have to be made.
The restaurant was pretty empty when I was in so finding a seat was pretty easy. I was there during off-hours, so I don't know how crowded it can get.
While I was starting my California roll, my sweet potato roll was dropped off. My California roll was very tasty and I loved how fresh all the vegetables were. The sweet potato rolls were ok. The sweet potatoes we're actually a type of purple yam, which was tasty, but nothing stood out about that roll.
Also, the staff here was really nice and gave me a free drink because it was my first time at the new location. I decided to get a San Pelligrino juice.

The restaurant had lots of intricate things to look at. Very good as conversation starters.
I ordered the chicken burger with fries. The chicken was so crisp and also a little juicy. I loved that and it came with lettuce, tomatoes and red onions.
I would come back and get the same order.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 548203337Sep 10, 2020
Very, very solid Fried Chicken sandwich store located at the base of an apartment building right next to a Panera. Price is super decent; taste is pretty amazing with a good home-feel touch to it. I'll probably definitely come back at one point to try their other sandwiches and rice dishes. Plenty of parking around, and you can order ahead. It is also a mixed mini-convenience store (w/ an Asian emphasis) as well, so that's pretty awesome. I guess the only bad thing I can say about it is that the front door/area is entirely infested with Lanternflies; it's definitely not their fault right now since the species basically took over the city, but it was almost impossible to walk through the entrance without being scared for your life.

Jason's Toridasu is a quick, fresh, and reasonably priced option if you're in the City Ave area and in the mood for sushi. I've been here a couple times and the staff is always welcoming. Their menu has a nice selection, and all the sushi I've had has been really good. I'd add one more star if the rice was a little less dry.
Overall, exceptional sushi for the price and conveniently located if you're in the area.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Janet C.West Philadelphia, Philadelphia, PA2101616Feb 10, 2020
What a hidden gem on City Ave!
This Korean-Japanese resturant is a nice, chill place to stop by for lunch! The interior is nice and inviting! The bright colors and lighting makes the place a nice spot to avoid the dreary weather outside. I will definitely be back!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tejaswi M.Philadelphia, PA374632May 15, 2020
I'm so grateful that I have Jason's Toridasu in my building and is open during these difficult times.
I get chicken burger mostly and sometimes the chicken rice bowl. They taste incredible and the portions are massive that each burger serves as two meals for me. I love this place so much that I end up getting food at least 2-3 times a week from here. You can really taste the good quality of ingredients they use and the sauces...oh my goodness...no words can describe how good they are!!!
If you like asian snacks and drinks, then you are in luck, they have a wide collection.
They are so friendly and it's always a pleasure to talk to them.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Shaun E.Harrisburg, PA320163109Feb 3, 2020
I enjoyed the story here. Little sushi shop that hadd to shut down for a while, came back as a fried chicken shop. Enjoyed their chicken wrap and chicken rice bowl. Restaurant was clean and organized. Would I go back?? Perhaps. I think adding chicken salads or wings would be good. They say fried chicken is next!

This place is cute, quick and convienent. I ordered the lunch combo for $10. Comes with a miso soup, a sushi roll and a garden salad. Everything was good, but there was a mishap with the salad. The employee rectified the situation immediately and made it right. Excellent customer service.

I ordered food here for pickup based on reviews on Main Line page. I actually ended up driving for 30 extra minutes because I got lost. Yet, my 3 yo super picky underweight boy ate some of the chicken and shrimp burger. He is so picky he doesn't eat McDonald's or Wendy's. While eating, he said "this food is yummy." So, I'm going to have to move closer....sorry no pics because we gobbled up the food. As a side note, I did spicy mayo on the side for both burgers and that ended up being perfect because I don't like my food too saucy. I used the spicy mayo for my fries.
Update: I'm going back again the next day...Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Mar 12, 2020Previous reviewI ordered food here for pickup based on reviews on Main Line page. I went to Jason's Toridasu when they served sushi and when the menu changed at first I was heartbroken. BUT the new menu is so amazingly delicious that I quickly forgot my heartache. The food is so good in fact I ordered it back to back days. I had the chicken rice bowls both times and the side salad. The rice bowls and packed with food and flavor. The chicken is super crispy even with all the sauce on top. The spice mayo and the tonkatsu sauce are so good I wish they bottled and sold it. The side salad is probably the best salad deal I have ever ordered. You get half a ripe avocado in a $4 side salad. I will definitely be back to try more of the new menu.
