Great ambiance-colorful decor, lots of space, latin music. They have a whole big back room with plenty of seating and a sun roof.
Empanadas
Pollo: A
Carne: A-
Veggie: A
Queso: A-
All of the empanadas were delicious, really comes down to which fillings you prefer. I thought the chicken and veggies ones were the best. The dough was very well made and crumbly, comes out hot and smells amazing.
ANTICUCHO DE CARNE: A+
This beef was so tender and smokey from the charcoal, absolutely a must try if you like meat. The potato it came with was also very tender and satisfying.
CHURRASQUITO NIKKEI: A
Another fantastic beef dish, this one was more a steak with sweetish sauce. Also incredibly tender. The potato/fries I couldn't stop eating and the salad was an interesting arugula, daikon, and carrot mix.
POLLITO PODEROSO: B
Tender chicken, falls off the bone. The chili sauce they serve it with really enhances the flavor. The beef dishes I think are better though.
PLANCHA VEGGIE: B-
Lots of tasty veggies served on a cast iron dish. Good for a side but I would recommend something else for a complete meal. This one doesn't come with rice or potatoes.
Side of shrimp: A+
Came out sizzling hot and was charred and seasoned well. Very tasty.
Pineapple fizz mocktail: B
Refreshing and not too sweet. The pineapple is a nice palate cleanser in between bites.
They gave us complimentary tres leches cake for our birthdays and that was fantastic, super moist, the perfect level of sweetness, and very creamy and refreshing.
Service here was incredibly friendly and checked on us frequently. HIGHLY recommend this spot for a good dinner or if you're celebrating a special occasion.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 3Oh no 0 - 662208250Dec 1, 2023
Jaranita had hands down the best Peruvian food I have ever had! Not only was the ambiance inside absolutely wonderful with a tree in the center of the restaurant decorated in colorful strings but the food was to die for.
When we went we got the empanadas which were stuffed with cheese and beef and coated with green crema sauce. We also got two meat dishes and the sweet corn purple drink that was cinnamon packed and tasted like Christmas.
I cannot recommend Jaranita more highly! Definitely check out this restaurant if you are in the Marina and craving fabulous Peruvian food!Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - 17119255Nov 20, 2023
The place has a lovely vibe, we had a booking for three and they sat us in promptly
The empanadas were great flavour though I feel a bit pricey for only 2 of them. The calamari was pretty good as well.
We shared the chicken and rice, which was very nicely presented and our server mixed up for us. The Lomo saltado however was pretty disappointing. Honestly I should have expected it, every time I've had loko saltado it's been an inefficient choice. I think we had like 5 bits of beef in here and for 30 dollars, I was left wanting so much more.
The food in general tasted good, the service was very nice. However, I wouldn't be back again as I feel the price was too much for the experience I received, so this can't reach 4 stars for me. Maybe try your luck with other dishes!Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Oct 2, 2023
I really enjoyed our dinner at Jaranita. The staff is very friendly. The menu offeds a wide selection of delicious food. Lastly, the back patio is a very well decorated space with a beautiful large tree taking center stage.
The Lomo Soltado, Pork belly, and classic rotisserie chicken are great to share. The meat is tender and just perfect.
The Yucca fries are one of the better ones I have had. Lastly, if you are considering the cauliflower, its a big yes!
Pollo fritto was okay, it was a little burnt and we did not get any flavor.
Then the magarita bottle was disappointing. $68 for a pitcher (bottle) but it was watered down and no flavor. We edned up not ordering any other drinks so we don't get disappointed.
5 stars for food, 3 stars for drinks.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - 5022701503Nov 19, 2023
Jaranita has been on my bucket list for a while, and I'm so happy I finally checked it out! I didn't expect to make it in time for San Francisco's restaurant week, but they were still offering the menu over the weekend, so it was the perfect opportunity to try out noteworthy appetizers, entrees, and a dessert.
We ordered the Cebiche Clasico, Causa Cocktail, Lomo Saltado, Arroz Con Pollo, and Tres Leches. Everything was delicious and perfect for two people to try out different items. There wasn't much of a wait on a Saturday at 5:00pm, but we made a reservation just in case.
The restaurant got a lot busier around 6:30-7:30pm, so I highly recommend making a reservation at that time, especially if you're hoping to sit in the back patio. Overall, the vibes and food were great, particularly if you're looking forward to a night out in the Marina!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 18, 2023
Came here during Fall 2023 Restaurant Week and had a spectacular brunch for only $30 per person! The boliyucas were fried to perfection which made for a great first course. The texture of the yuca filling along with the slight cheesy flavor was delicious. For my main course, I had the suprema jarana which came with a massive cheese-topped chicken milanese, salad, fries, and a fried egg. The entree normally costs $29, so this was an amazing deal for restaurant week. I even had leftovers to take home!
We sat outside on the sidewalk seating on a nice sunny day - next time I'd love to try out the colorful back patio. Service was friendly, and one of the staff even offered to turn on the heating lamp for us in case we were cold. Would highly recommend checking this place out for a lovely Peruvian brunch in the Marina!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 15, 2023
Came here for the SF Restaurant Week
$45 dinner menu is very well worth it.
Great ambience! Very good service.
Very good amount of food for the discounted price.
Ceviche Clasico has a lighter sauce compared to some of the classic ones. Which allows you to taste more of the flavor from the fish, which is really fresh. 8/10
Causa Cocktail, a very creative dish different from the regular shrimp cocktail, beautifully presented, and love the combination of shrimp, mashed potatoes, and other ingredients. 8.5/10
Lomo Saltado, the sauce is just delicious. The beef is slighted over cooked, but only very slightly. Mostly it is a very tasty and balanced dish. 8.5/10
Arroz con Pollo, chicken is well cooked but too salty. Otherwise this dish would be much better! 7/10
Tres Leches, delicious. Love the texture of the cake! 8.5/10
Overall: 8.5/10

Amazing attentive and friendly service! The food is tasty, all items of each plate had individual tastes that complement each item. The roasted chicken from the arroz con pollo was so tender and flavorful!
There is a good variety of items to try! So bring your group to enjoy the items! There is indoor and outdoor dining and both have fun colorful festive vibes with photo opp decor! Looking forward to trying other menu items!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 20, 2023
This Peruvian restaurant in the marina is one of the unique restaurants in the area.
Service was extremely friendly and helpful.
EMPANADAS
Try the Empanadas!
You will not be disappointed.
FRIED YUCA
If you like french fries, you should try the fried yuca. They are thick, cut, and perfectly seasoned With a homemade creamy dipping sauce. This was by far my favorite dish.
Ceviche
This is the restaurants version of ceviche. Very tasty and enough to share with two people.
CAULIFLOWER Y OCOPA
This was a ginormous head of roasted cauliflower. Wow. The cauliflower was roasted to perfection to the point where the cauliflower was sweet. Topped with mint sauce, pecans, a few slices of jalapeño peppers, and herb salad on top.
We will be coming back.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - 2089217Aug 21, 2023
We came here on a Saturday for a late lunch and were seated right away. The ambience inside was nice and they had seating inside and outside.
Our group of five ordered the arroz con mariscos, lomo saltado, pollito poderoso, and cauliflower. Our group's favorite was the arroz con mariscos which was very flavorful with perfectly cooked seafood. The lomo saltado reminded us of American Chinese food, it was good but not as unique as the other dishes. The rotisserie chicken in the pollito pederoso was very tender and flavorful too. Our waiter was very attentive and gave us recommendations. I would definitely like come back again to try some other dishes like the empanada. I recommend this place if you wanna try out some good Peruvian food!Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 1
