The term 'jerk' is the name given to the traditional method of Jamaican cooking in which meats are marinated in a unique blend of herbs and spices, and then char grilled to succulent perfection. The care taken to prepare the 'jerk' marinate, and the time the meat is allowed to marinate in partnership with the char-grilling are essential for producing the amazing flavour and aroma that 'jerk' is renowned around the world for. At Jamroc we follow these timeless traditions and recipes handed down from generation to generation in order to produce such a special and unique flavour thats guaranteed to leave you craving more. Whether you like it the traditional way off the bone, or in a gourmet burger or wrap the choice is yours!

I've had this place bookmarked for quite some time and finally made it out to try it for lunch. Ive been to Jamaica many times so I am pretty familiar with Jerk Chicken and was excited to discover a place close to home.
They are located in the Q Super Center so there is tons of parking nearby. The restaurant has plenty of outdoor seating and also a server that bring out and collects your food even though it is a fast-casual type restaurant. Inside they have the menus presented at the counter and you order and pay for the food prior to sitting down.
I decided to get the Kingston as a burger although it also comes as a wrap. My partner got the 1/2 chicken. Our food came out relatively fast as we can in between lunch and dinner time on Saturday so it wasn't busy. Both our meals were so delicious and the chicken was seasoned so wonderfully!
One thing I wish is if they were open between lunch and dinner time daily as it seems they only do it on Saturdays. However the great service and fantastic food will keep us coming back!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Laura B.Byron Bay, Australia12166Apr 11, 2015
Absolutely worth the drive down to the coast to enjoy Jamacian jerk chicken at it's best.
Sharing half a bird and 6 wings fed the 2 of us nicely for lunch.
Paired nicely with a Jamacian ginger beer (no Bundaberg ginger beer though!).Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

This has to be the best fast food I have ever eaten.
Ate this about 7 times during a 6 day stay in Mermaid Waters. That good.
Being a place that draws attention to how spicy the food is, it's important to note that there are a heap of items on the menu that are more mild.
Staff are awesome and there is always good music playing.
RECOMMENDATION: Get a burger and chips and find some way to find room in your stomach for the wings. The wings are so good. The chips here are also fantastic, the seasoning is really tasty.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

The food is like a bit of home in the midst of Australia! You must come! The food is as authentic Caribbean/Jamaican fare as you are ever likely to find in Australia while still accommodating and appealing to the tastes of locals and those with no Caribbean heritage. Plus the staff are super nice and accommodating. :) shoutout to Mateo and Selvon. So glad I found it and looking forward to an expansion.
